The Quiet Part Loud Podcast

Summary: An honest, unapologetic discussion that looks at society, our interactions and lack of nuance that has invaded our discourse. Conversations without boundaries or political correctness. Sometimes controversial, often silly, always from the heart. This is where the quiet thoughts in our heads are amplified to the world.

 Episode 136 - If You're Mad, Get Mad! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:32:57

Today's episode we take a look back at the past couple of week's events. We're discussing the ongoing mishandling of the COVID pandemic by the UK and US governments, and how their complete incompetence continues to endanger our health and financial future. We look at the Black Lives Matter protests to distinguish between the movement and the organisation that has hijacked a progressive cause for its own political ideologies which are rooted in the very behaviour they claim to be fighting against. Then we talk Kanye for President and Unity 2020, which is a political movement that has the goal of shaking up the political structure and how Americans choose their leadership. Be warned, this episode is a heated monologue of frustration and honesty about how political appointees and what we must do to hold them accountable. We don't hold back on the language, so if cursing offends you, perhaps you want to give this one a miss. If not, enjoy.  Episode 135 - A Conversation With Lee Chambers (Environmental Psychologist) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:12:03

Today we sit down with Lee Chambers, Founder of Essentialise to discuss mental health, wellbeing and stress management. COVID and the subsequent lockdown have caused all of us to experience some form of anxiety and new types of stress. It's important to understand that we're not alone and to see that there are tangible ways to deal with unforeseen circumstances that may be hard to navigate on our own. We discuss Lee's own life struggles and how he found strength and resilience to fight against an autoimmune disease that caused him to lose the ability to walk before the arrival of his newborn baby, and how that experience gave him the confidence to start his own business helping others. Lee is a genuinely kind person that truly cares about the wellbeing of all others, he puts that into practice every day and it was a pleasure to speak with him.  Episode 134 - BLM | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:08:55

As we seem to be a watershed moment in our history with race relations, I wanted to take the opportunity to speak about the Black Lives Matter protests and some of the context and nuance missing from the conversation and from the activists. There are more caveats in this episode than I ever thought possible but with such a sensitive topic that I've only been an observer of, I felt it important to be as clear as possible. With all the hate and fear-mongering going on, I hope this episode will highlight that most of us are striving towards a similar goal in life and what we really need is dialogue and direction. Enjoy.
