In this week's show Lisa and Vikki visit with Kay Fox of Handclasp.org. Kay discusses her missionary work in Northern Thailand. The purpose of Handclasp is to benefit the needy people of Asia, particularly children. Since 1988, Directors of Handclasp have supported a group of Hill Tribe refugees in Northern Thailand. Zothansiami Ralte (Siami) a teacher from Mizoram, India has built a center in Ban Mai Phatana.   There are many causes of grief, and everyone, at some point in their lives, has had to deal with losing someone or something. We all grieve differently, as Lisa Casarez and Vikki Luna tell us, and we shouldn't try to avoid the pain that comes from loss. In this podcast, Vikki Luna and Lisa Casarez talk about mentoring people. Along with their guest Jessica Franklin Waymire, they tell us how mentoring is sharing experiences and using wisdom to help somebody else. In order to mentor someone you have to allow yourself to be exposed, to be transparent so you can teach others. They share how God heals you so you may heal others and that no one is looking for perfection but they are looking for transparency.

Some people live this life stressed out because they are always in a hurry, doing 10 things at the same time. They often do not take care of themselves, getting sick due to their inability to learn how to rest. They are running a rat race like a hamster on a wheel going nowhere fast. Lisa Casarez and Vikki Luna say that when you are so busy doing too many things at once then you are not productive because you are most likely not doing any one thing well. They believe people should learn to rest and not be in such a hurry all the time because it will bring their lives peace and balance.

As we celebrate Easter or Passover around the world, Lisa Casarez and Vikki Luna tell us to use this time as a period of reflection on our life's journey and the sacrifice God made for us. After giving us the life of his only son, the ultimate sacrifice, he gave us resurrection and the power that comes with it. Lisa and Vikki tell us that if we live in that resurrection power, we are unstoppable.  And when we live our lives sacrificing for others, do it without expecting gratitude or acknowledgement.

Stress can be brought on by different circumstances on a daily basis. There are both good and bad stress factors. In this podcast, Vikki Luna and Lisa Casarez will give us some ideas on how to deal with the bad stressors. For example: they advise to remove the toxic people around you because they can affect your mood in a negative way. Another one is to allow God to be the lover of your soul; he will gently guide you and give you wisdom; he will gently correct you and restore you and give you peace that surpasses all understanding so you can stay calm, cool and collected.

  A recent study conducted by the Chancellor's office for all of the California State University campuses revealed that 43.7% of students at Fresno State face food insecurities. President Joseph Castro and his wife Mary Castro decided to help these students, who may sometimes go without a decent meal for three days or more, by opening The Student Cupboard. This on-campus food pantry helps supply about 3,200 students per month with food items they can take for the day, the week, or the month, depending on their needs. In order to become an excellent leader, according to Vikki Luna and Lisa Casarez, you have to surround yourself with people who possess the skills you lack in order to balance you out. You also have to become an encourager, a cheerleader, and someone who can keep realistic expectations, while sharing your knowledge and experience. Be a mentor, someone who leads by example, because Vikki and Lisa tell us a good leader is nothing without a team. So be the best you can be and do it with joy and hope.

Lisa Casarez and Vikki Luna tell us that hope and faith go together hand in hand and that God will give us whatever we need so we can embrace hope regardless what we lack on this earth. They tell us God wants us to walk in hope but he also wants us to know who we are in him, and to have confidence that all things will work out if you stay connected to the hope that is him. They tell us the greatest gift is the ability to love and that love is a commitment, a journey. Love is compromise and finding common ground is the key to be able to compromise. Find your commitment. Operation Hope and Hope Village in EstelÍ, Nicaragua was a calling for Rene Moncada, coordinator of the project which began four years ago with only three people and a dream to bring the universal language of a smile to Nicaragua. Presently the project has grown to 14 volunteers who travel to this Central American country to provide dental care for hundreds of people, most of them elderly and poor. Rene is a guest of Lisa Casarez and Vikki Luna in this podcast and tells us how God spoke to him to come and serve and all he needed to do was to say yes! Fear will try to paralyze you; it will stop you from reaching your goals or achieving your resolutions but, as Lisa Casarez and Vikki Luna tells us, if you do things of which you are afraid with faith, you will conquer your fears. Lisa and Vikki tell us we don't have to be afraid of the storms in our lives because we are learning through the storms how to sail our ship. They want to encourage us to be people of great faith and to overcome our fears.
