No preseason, the Rams' RBBC and farewell, Antonio Brown? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:42:55

Welcome to the Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football Podcast! Matt Harmon is joined by Yahoo Fantasy’s very own Scott Pianowski to talk all things football and fantasy on this latest episode. [Create or join a 2020 Yahoo Fantasy Football League for free today] After a lot of uneasy inactivities, the NFL and NFLPA have both agreed to no preseason games in 2020. In years past, the preseason was a great time for the fantasy community to ... OVERREACT. So now, what will we overreact to by the time Week 1 comes around? (2:30) Training camp has also been a big topic of discussion, and it’s already looking like it will be very different from seasons past. Elsewhere in the NFL, Sean McVay has stated that he envisions the Rams backfield to look a lot like the 49er one ... which is probably not great news for fantasy managers, especially when you consider that the Rams don’t have the system nor the offensive line in place that San Francisco does. (29:07) Matt and Scott discuss the repercussions of an RBBC in LA, and much more (including Antonio Brown’s apparent retirement — good news for Seahawks receivers?) (38:16) Please remember to rate, review, and subscribe on your podcast provider of choice and send us your questions for future episodes on Twitter @YahooFantasy.  Talking draft strategy, targets and avoids with Jason from Fantasy Footballers | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:49:06

Welcome to the Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football Podcast! Liz Loza is joined by none other than Jason Moore of The Fantasy Footballers to talk all things football and fantasy on this latest episode. [Create or join a 2020 Yahoo Fantasy Football League for free today] Since Jason has nailed a top-10 accuracy score on FantasyPros ranking of experts for three straight years, we ask him how he's approaching his drafts in a COVID-19-impacted season and his guiding principles when it comes to draft day. (04:20) Next up, Liz and Jason discuss two sleeper wide receivers, one who should smash his ADP and another who might be held back by poor quarterback play. (14:08) Plus, Jason shares his thoughts on the ever-confusing Austin Ekeler (29:15) One of the biggest headlines of the week Liz and Jason discuss is Derrick Henry signing a big extension for 4 years, $50 million. It’s the kind of extension that disagrees with the notion of running backs being replaceable — is Derrick Henry’s deal the start of more? (36:37) Next up, Liz and Jason discuss a couple of names who are jumping out at them in drafts along with some players they’re avoiding. They also discuss the fantasy outlook of the Washington team, especially now that Kelvin Harmon suffered an ACL injury. Aside from Terry McLaurin, who else can we trust on this team? Is Antonio Gibson about to see his draft cost skyrocket? (44:24) Please remember to rate, review, and subscribe on your podcast provider of choice and send us your questions for future episodes on Twitter @YahooFantasy.  Rankings disagreements, A.J. Green, D'Andre Swift, and more | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:53:32

Welcome to the Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football Podcast! Liz Loza and Andy Behrens are here to talk all things football and fantasy on this latest episode. [Create or join a 2020 Yahoo Fantasy Football League for free today] Andy recently wrote a piece on rookie running back D’Andre Swift, making the bold claim that the former Georgia Bulldog is about to end the fantasy woes of Detroit Lions running backs — do we believe it? (18:40) Then, our analysts talk about the next subject in Liz’s Rust vs. Rest series, A.J. Green, and whether he’ll make an impact this season on the revamped, Joe Burrow-led Cincinnati Bengals. (30:15) Next up, the analysts discuss some disagreements they have in their fantasy rankings, including Liz having Dalvin Cook ranked ninth among RBs and whether Keenan Allen or DJ Chark is worth a pick as your WR2.  Raheem Mostert wants out, Tom Brady's outlook with Bruce Arians, and much more | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:45:59

Welcome to the Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football Podcast! Matt Harmon is joined by 4for4.com’s Director of DFS TJ Hernandez to talk all things football and fantasy on this latest episode. [Create or join a 2020 Yahoo Fantasy Football League for free today] First up, Matt and TJ discuss some of TJ's work in the offseason, including his breakdown of what wide receiver stats matter from year to year. (01:50) breaking news in the NFL world. In a bit of a surprising move, it was reported that Raheem Mostert requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers. After seemingly looking like the clear workhorse following the Matt Breida trade to the Dolphins (not to mention, Mostert’s awesome performances late last year), Mostert wants out. (11:19) Matt and TJ break down the situation, as well as the fantasy outlooks of Mostert if he does leave, and Tevin Coleman, who would seemingly be elevated in this backfield. Next up, the analysts discuss two of their more recent pieces: TJ’s story on how Josh Allen can be this year’s Lamar Jackson (20:00), and Matt’s piece on the workload awaiting Bruce Arians now that Tom Brady is his starting QB. (33:34) Matt and TJ wrap up with one thing they’ve changed their minds about from last week.  Dissecting Josh Allen, Mahomes signs big, and welcome back Damien Williams | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:33:04

Welcome to the Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football Podcast! Matt Harmon and Dalton Del Don are back to discuss all things fantasy and all things football on the latest episode. [Create or join a 2020 Yahoo Fantasy Football League for free today] You might have heard — just might — that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and clearly otherworldy being Patrick Mahomes signed the richest contract in sports HISTORY. We imagine that the Chiefs read our team preview and said to themselves, “Yeah, he's pretty good.” But in all seriousness, how should fantasy managers approach the QB Deity and his surrounding team this year in drafts? (01:41) Elsewhere in Chiefs news, could it be that we’ve tossed Damien Williams to the side too rashly? According to his running backs coach, Williams is expected to have a “big year.” Does this mean trouble for super-hyped rookie, Clyde Edwards-Helaire? (07:10) One of the more polarizing players in 2020 fantasy drafts is Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Matt and Dalton weigh in on if the Firebaugh, California native is an inaccurate scrambler who's being overrated in fantasy drafts or a future fantasy MVP.  Injuries, safety and sports in the time of Coronavirus | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:47:16

Welcome to the Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football Podcast! Yahoo's fantasy analyst Andy Behrens chats with sports medicine physicians Dr. Sara Edwards and Dr. Gregory Horner for an episode that's a bit of a detour from our usual discussions on sleepers, waiver wire picks and receivers who are poised to break out to talk all things injuries and COVID-19. [Create or join a 2020 Yahoo Fantasy Football League for free today] Dr. Edwards is the Associate Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at UCSF, and she currently serves as a team physician for the City College of San Francisco, the University of San Francisco and the Oakland Ballet. Dr. Horner is the leader of the Tri-Valley Orthopedic Specialists’ hand surgery team in Pleasanton, CA and former wide receiver for the Northwestern University Wildcats football team. Andy, Dr. Horner and Dr. Edwards discuss the effects of COVID-19 on sports across the country, how a coronavirus-impacted preseason could mirror the 2011 NFL lockout-affected season which saw more injuries than usual, a look at the testing protocols professional and collegiate sports will be undertaking, whether long-terms effects are a concern for athletes and why you should really, really wear a mask.  Cam heads to New England, QB strategy, and late-draft targets | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:53:46

Welcome back to a new episode of the Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football Podcast! Liz Loza is joined by Scott Pianowski to talk all things football. [Create or join a 2020 Yahoo Fantasy Football League for free today] And few things are dominating the football conversation more than news that Cam Newton had reached a deal with the New England Patriots. Our analysts discuss Cam’s outlook with the Patriots as well as his chances of producing in the 2020 fantasy football season. (0:30) We'll also compare the fortunes of Cam Newton in New England with Ben Roethlisberger, another QB coming off injury who can be had late in drafts. (2:30) And we take a look at our favorite picks in the later rounds of fantasy drafts, like Jordan Howard and Terry McLaurin, whose hype train we will continue to pilot until draft day. (12:15) While Coronavirus has put a damper on the usual news parade of players being in the best shape of their lives, Liz and Scott take a look at the fortunes of Evan Engram who makes his way back from a Lisfranc injury that hobbled him in 2019. He’s currently the sixth TE off the board, but is he worth the draft capital at that spot? (41:15) This year has been unlike any other, and fantasy sports have been directly affected. Liz and Scott talk some changes they’ve made (or will make) in their league settings to reflect the current state of affairs.  A shorter preseason, the Ravens offense and a Big Ben bounceback? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:57:24

Welcome back to a new episode of the Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football Podcast! Liz Loza and Matt Harmon are back to talk all things football. [Create or join a 2020 Yahoo Fantasy Football League for free today] While training camps are expected to open on time, Yahoo's Charles Robinson reports that the NFL is discussing the viability of a full preseason slate, and we know the annual HOF game has been canceled. What will be the impact of a shortened ramp-up period on players? (0:33) Matt Harmon calls Ben Roethlisberger "one of the keys to fantasy football in 2020" since his health directly impacts the value of Juju Smith-Schuster, Diontae Johnson and James Conner. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, said, "He's comfortable and pleased where he is. Some people who had the opportunity to work with him are impressed and pleased where he is. The medical experts are comfortable where he is and his readiness for 2020." Liz Loza's chats with an orthopedist says the prolonged break for Ben is a little bit good news and a little bit bad news for his expected value and the Steelers offense. (13:10) And elsewhere in the AFC North, one of the Steelers’ biggest rivals, the Baltimore Ravens, loom as division favorites, but do we need to worry about Lamar Jackson regressing? If potential regression is to be staved off, Lamar will need weapons to throw to. Can anyone other than Hollywood Brown and Mark Andrews step up in Baltimore? Or are there just not enough touches left once Brown, Andrews, and the rushing game with Lamar get theirs? At least we'll always have some early Miles Boykin coach-hype. (22:45) Plus, we'll get a player debate in before we get out of here: Is the fantasy community too pessimistic on the Rivers-less Keenan Allen?  Talking money-making quarterbacks and underrated wide receivers | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:50:12

Welcome back to a new episode of the Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football Podcast! Matt Harmon is joined by Dalton Del Don to talk all things football. Some big football news came in the form of Dak Prescott signing the franchise tag in 2020. Now that he’s locked in for the season, will he be a top 3 fantasy quarterback this year? (1:40) Speaking of quarterbacks that are about to make a lot of money, Matt is working on a series titled, “Players that will tell the story of the season.” And one of the guys he’s looking at is Patrick Mahomes. It’s kind of wild to say this about an MVP and Super Bowl winner, but does Mahomes have an ever higher ceiling that we’ve seen? (7:40) Will a rising tide named DeAndre Hopkins lift all boats in the Arizona offense? (15:40) Elsewhere in fantasyland, Matt lists some underrated wideouts he likes this season (30:36): - Terry McLaurin - Diontae Johnson - Marquise Brown - Sterling Shepard - Anthony Miller - Curtis Samuel With a list of names like this, is there a reason to grab a WR early in drafts?  'Stick to sports,' Coronavirus concerns, and who will fill Deebo's shoes? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:42:51

Welcome to the Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football Podcast! Liz Loza and Matt Harmon return after a brief hiatus with a new episode of the Yahoo Fantasy Football Podcast to talk Coronavirus, Deebo Samuel's foot injury, and the idea of 'sticking to sports.' You might've noticed that for the past two weeks or so that we haven't had a show. In the aftermath of George Floyd’s murder, and the ensuing protests which we support here, we felt wasn’t right to be joking and just focusing on fantasy football while we're all thinking about and facing the realities of systemic racism in the country. We want this show to be a place where we’re able to talk to each other honestly about what we're thinking, when it comes to fantasy football, but also beyond sports. So if you’re looking for a place where we just stick to sports, this podcast isn’t it. Dr. Anthony Fauci says that there shouldn't be a season without a bubble: "Unless players are essentially in a bubble — insulated from the community and they are tested nearly every day — it would be very hard to see how football is able to be played this fall." Liz shares some nuggets from her conversations with an orthopedist and epidemiologist about what to expect this season. And, one nugget of fantasy news, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel broke his foot recently and is expected to miss the start of the 2020 NFL Season. Will someone else in the receiving corps fill his shoes? [Create or join a 2020 Yahoo Fantasy Football League for free today] Liz and Adam talk all things NFL, including Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones saying he “would love to be a lifelong Packer.” ... Which is interesting, considering the Packers drafted rookie running back, A.J. Dillon. Liz and Adam share their thoughts on this backfield along with how they’d draft Jones this year. (03:25) They’ll also break down where Jones fits in their strategy along with fellow tier 2 RBs Josh Jacobs (11:57), Austin Ekeler (13:01), Miles Sanders (18:00), James Conner (26:10), and Devin Singletary (29:10) . We’ve been talking quite a bit about the Bears on this here pod, and since Adam is a Bears guy, he and Liz give their thoughts on the offense (along with a tweet from Adam stating he thought rookie tight end Cole Kmet was a good draft choice by said Bears!). (32:54) Finally, the experts run through some guys they like and don’t like for this fantasy football season, including Drew Lock and potentially lethal Denver Broncos (40:10), and Hunter Renfrow of the Las Vegas Raiders. In this edition of the Yahoo Fantasy Football Podcast, we’re flipping the script a bit and having Dalton Del Don throw questions at Matt Harmon and give us a sneak peek at this year’s Reception Perception! [Create or join a 2020 Yahoo Fantasy Football League for free today] But first, Dalton and Matt talk some of the major happenings in the NFL, including the Seattle Seahawks adding their 50th starting running back! Okay, in all seriousness, the Seahawks signed Carlos Hyde, and now their backfield consists of Hyde, Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny, and Travis Homer. What does this mean for fantasy? (01:25) And later in the show, Matt Harmon explains the methodology and process behind Reception Perception. For those of you new to Reception Perception, Matt Harmon basically hunkers down while most of us are recuperating from the football season and reviews every route a wide receiver runs to see how successful they are in a wide variety of scenarios. Yes, every. Single. Route. (04:27) Here are some of the receivers Matt and Dalton discuss in today’s show: Diontae Johnson, Pittsburgh Steelers (14:31) Stefon Diggs and John Brown, Buffalo Bills (20:42) Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (22:18) Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams (25:42) Odell Beckham, Jr., Cleveland Browns (27:54) A.J.  NFC West backfields and RB/TE rankings showdown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:55:09

Running backs are almost always the talk of the town when it comes to early fantasy football projections and predictions, but there’s a pair of NFC West backfields that haven’t really been getting much attention, until now. [Create or join a 2020 Yahoo Fantasy Football League for free today] While the backfield is San Francisco doesn’t have a true every down, big-name workhorse, it’s one that should have tons of potential value. Supposed RB1, Raheem Mostert, recently told the media that he’s bulking up so that he can handle 200+ carries this season. Are we buying the breakout for Mostert? (13:16) Elsewhere in the NFC West, Los Angeles Rams Head Coach Sean McVay said, "We feel we've got three really good backs." "What we wanted to do was get a group that we felt really good about ... This enables us to say, 'We're not necessarily committed to any approach, it's a feel for the flow of the game.” That's not exactly a ringing endorsement to take Cam Akers early in fantasy drafts. (18:36) Matt Harmon is joined by Dalton Del Don discuss those backfields and much more on the latest fantasy football podcast. Matt and Dalton also debate some players they disagree with from their rankings; specifically, their running backs (24:02) like J.K. Dobbins and Derrius Guice, and tight ends like T.J. Hockenson and Austin Hooper (41:24). Next week, they’ll throw down over their QB and WR rankings!  The importance of continuity in an uneven offseason | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:05:08

With all the uncertainty surrounding the current state of affairs, continuity becomes paramount, and that is especially true for NFL rookies about to begin their first season or for free agents who are about to learn an entirely new system on an entirely new team. We don’t know what this offseason will bring, but one thing is for sure: Players who have continuity on their side are in a better position to succeed — and fantasy managers should take note! Liz Loza is joined by Andy Behrens discuss continuity and much more in the latest fantasy football podcast. [Create or join a 2020 Yahoo Fantasy Football League for free today] In NFL news, The Athletic's Connor Hughes suggests the Jets "can’t wait to unleash Chris Herndon" this upcoming season. Liz and Andy discuss the outlook of the Jets’ offensive pieces, including the returning Herndon, Sam Darnold, Le’Veon Bell, and newcomer Denzel Mims. (03:17) Speaking of continuity, a couple of veteran NFL quarterbacks have been trying to get things going with their top weapons. A less-hairy Ben Roethlisberger has been working out with JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Conner, and Ryan Switzer, while new-Buccaneer Tom Brady underwent a two-hour throwing session with Mike Evans, O.J. Howard, and five other teammates. (12:44) Liz and Andy discuss them and other teams and players benefiting from continuity — including Liz’s take on Jarrett Stidham and the Patriots — and the teams that might be lacking in chemistry from a full offseason: AFC East (17:36) NFC East (21:44) AFC North (24:47) NFC North (26:48) AFC South (33:14) NFC South (37:35) AFC West (49:30) NFC West (56:50) Please remember to rate, review, and subscribe on your podcast provider of choice and send us your questions for future episodes on Twitter @YahooFantasy.  Learning from burnt takes, and does anyone know how healthy Todd Gurley is? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:48:18

We’ve all had predictions that turn out to be wrong. We’ve all had bad takes that come back to haunt us. It’s a part of life and the human need to try and make an opinion as close to a fact as possible. The key is to learn something from that burnt take. Liz Loza and Matt Harmon have had some of their own, and they discuss those takes and much more in the latest fantasy football podcast. [Create or join a 2020 Yahoo Fantasy Football League for free today] But first, we look at some of the news around the NFL. Falcons OC Dirk Koetter said about RB Todd Gurley that "The main question, that no one seems to know, is what is his health status?” If the OC doesn’t know ... who does? (01:41) Colts WR T.Y. Hilton recently said, "I want to be a Colt” in reference to his contract status ... which is not a sentence you need to say if a team already wants you back. Are we buying or selling Hilton in a Rivers-led offense? (10:10) Our Tennessee Titans 2020 preview went live, and our experts give their thoughts on Derrick Henry's chances of becoming the overall #1 running back for the year. (Hint: they're not high, but that doesn't mean you should avoid him this year.) (17:15) Most recently, Matt looked back at his failed 2019 takes on both Alvin Kamara and Davante Adams. Liz, too, had a burnt 2019 take, on David Johnson. They discuss the three questionable takes in detail, what to expect from them in 2020, and why it's important to focus on process not results.
