Tom Brady waves goodbye to New England and more Free Agency talk | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:51:29

Technically, the free agency period for the 2020 NFL season actually starts on March 18th, but you would think we were midway through the period the way the deals have been flying! Liz Loza and Matt Harmon talk about all the biggest moves made in the latest fantasy football podcast. After a Monday that included a mind-boggling DeAndre Hopkins-to-the-Cardinals trade -- that our own Matt Harmon called the worst trade of all time -- and a late-night trade for Stefon Diggs by the Buffalo Bills, Tuesday came in strong as well. - It seems like Tom Brady, 6-time Super Bowl champ, is taking his talents to Tampa Bay. We'll look at how TB in TB will impact Mike Evans and Chris Godwin as well. (01:24) - Load up the kids into the RV, Phil Rivers is going to Indy. (09:26) - Our one word reaction to the Hopkins/Johnson trade: WTF! Okay, that's technically an acronym, but on the bright side Houston signed Randall Cobb tho. (12:23) - Stefon Diggs gets traded to Buffalo and adds another weapon to a sneaky good offense. (20:48) - If you listen closely you can actually pinpoint the exact moment Matt's heart breaks in two: Cam Newton is likely to be traded or cut in Carolina... and will be replaced by Teddy Bridgewater. (28:37) - Bears add Jimmy Graham and Robert Quinn. But not all hope is lost, Chicago is reportedly interested in Nick Foles or Andy Dalton. (36:52) - Browns add Austin Hooper and Jack Conklin while fantasy football writers nationwide get ready to write about the loaded Browns offense ... again. (43:54) - Falcons replace Austin Hooper with former Raven Hayden Hurst. (45:32) And our experts will continue to talk through all the news as the updates keep coming!  NFL Dysfunctional Franchise Power Rankings | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:33:47

This second week of March is not the busiest time in the NFL calendar. In the valley between the combine and the start of free agency, with an important labor vote potentially getting resolved over the weekend, NFL fans and prognosticators alike feel like they're about to crest the first drop of a roller coaster. Lots of anticipation. Not much action. Have no fear, the Yahoo Fantasy Football Podcast still rolls out the important #content on a weekly basis. Inspired by last week's discussion of Amari Cooper's bumpy tenures in Oakland & Dallas, Matt Harmon & Liz Loza spend the podcast today doing their first annual NFL Franchise Dysfunction Rankings. After a shared top 4 of the usual clown show franchises (hello, Dan Snyder!), the real arguments begin. Why are Matt & Liz so far apart on the Cowboys and Patriots? Are the Lions truly a bad franchise or is their consistency worthy of praise? Is the Bill O’Brien era in Houston a sign of operational competency or ineptitude? Why are our hosts so low on the Steelers? New logo aside, are the Rams truly a top tier franchise or are they teetering on the verge of being the Chargers?  7 combine takeaways and 5 free agent QB landing spots | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:50:02

Welcome back! Earlier this week, Liz Loza wrote on her top takeaways from the NFL Scouting Combine. Liz and Matt Harmon take a deep dive into 7 of those takeaways and more in the latest fantasy football podcast. Our experts run down the likes of Denzel Mims (who might be a unicorn) (9:00) and AJ Dillon who some experts are either rightly or wrongly comparing to Derrick Henry (15:40). Only time will tell! They also discuss the prospects of Joe Burrow, and who might be the third quarterback drafted after him and Tua Tagovailoa (21:10). Next up, our experts have a conversation about Matt’s recent piece where he wrote on logical fits for top NFL free agents like Tom Brady, Philip Rivers, and Teddy Bridgewater (33:55).  Brady on the move? Bucs on the QB hunt? The NFL Combine rumor mill is in full swing! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:47:06

The NFL Scouting Combine has begun, and so too the rumor mill begins to spin. Everything from Cam Newton to Joe Burrow’s hands have already been discussed. Liz Loza and Matt Harmon run down those storylines and more in the latest fantasy football podcast. ESPN's Jeff Darlington is reporting sources close to Tom Brady is evaluating free agency with the intention of departing. Is someone punking the American public or should you order your TB12 Las Vegas Raiders jersey right now? (3:45) The Tampa Bay Buccaneers raised eyebrows when head coach Bruce Arians and General Manager Jason Licht spoke on the future of the quarterback position. Arians said he’d like to see "Tom Brady. Philip (Rivers) is another guy. We'll see." Jameis Winston’s days as Tampa’s starting QB might be numbered. (10:20) The Buccaneers apparently aren’t alone in this either — seems like the Raiders might be open to a change as well if we’re to interpret GM Mike Mayock’s words in that way: “I’m very happy with Derek Carr. What I’ve told everybody I’ve been in touch with since I took this job is we’re gonna evaluate every position every year. If we can get better, we will.” (14:45) Further north in the NFC South, the Panthers brain trust has opened up a little more on on the future of Cam Newton with the team. Could he be on the trading block? (18:05) Ron Rivera and the Redskins' brass reportedly met with Tua Tagovailoa and Joe Burrow at the combine. Could the Skins really be exploring moving on from Dwayne Haskins, Jr.? (23:30) After some rumors that Joe Burrow could pull an Eli Manning and turn his back on Bengals at the podium (and some hilarious talk of the size of his hands), he set the record straight, saying he’d absolutely report to Cincinnati. (27:10) Elsewhere in the rumor mill, Dave Gettleman is saying Dave Gettleman things in New York about the Giants' fourth overall pick (29:15), while the Bears are taking their sweet time deciding what to do with Mitch Trubisky’s fifth-year option. (33:00) Next up, our experts go into detail on Liz’s top prospects to watch at the combine: CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma; Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama; Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama; D’Andre Swift, RB, Georgia; JK Dobbins, RB, Ohio State; Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin.  Greg Olsen lands in Seattle, 3 WRs to watch in the combine and offseason social media detectives | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:46:36

Since last week’s episode, some veteran faces who have been fantasy stars in the past have announced their return to the NFL in 2020. Greg Olsen signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks. Drew Brees will return to the New Orleans Saints. Adrian Peterson will once again take the field as a member of the Washington Redskins. Even Jason Witten, who tried (and failed) his hand in the booth, stated he wants to play again. Liz Loza and Matt Harmon discuss those returns and more in the latest fantasy football podcast. The NFL Scouting Combine will start on Sunday, February 23, and our experts talk about rookies they’re most interested in, particularly Henry Ruggs III, Justin Jefferson and Antonio Gandy-Golden. (21:35) Next up, Liz and Matt are delving into the strange world of social media. This is the time of year when NFL players are Instagramming and tweeting with unmatched relentlessness, oftentimes sharing obscure, mysterious posts which may or may not inadvertently reveal something about their playing future. Liz and Matt discuss the very latest from that world, including Derek Carr Instagramming a picture of him and Khalil Mack, and Stefon Diggs deleting everything Vikings-related from his IG.  Valentine's Day matchmaker with Philip Rivers, Amari Cooper and the 2020 free agent class | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:57:59

It’s the second full week of February, and for many folks, that means love is in the air — yes, Valentine’s Day. And in the spirit of happy couples, Liz Loza and Matt Harmon decided to play matchmaker in the latest fantasy football podcast. But instead of bringing couples to the perfect V-Day restaurant or pairing a significant other with the perfect gift, they’re taking the top soon-to-be free agents and placing them in a new team. The first candidate is Philip Rivers, newly “single” after the Chargers and QB said their goodbyes (4:45). There’s Amari Cooper, on the market after being the odd-person-out in a highly publicized sugar-daddy situation (10:25). Should Melvin Gordon look for love outside of LA? (16:40) Are Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill meant to be? (24:45) Where will the second chapters of Jameis Winston — who got LASIK surgery so now everyone will overdraft him in 2020 — and Marcus Mariota take them? (25:40) Kenyan Drake was broken up with (freed?) by the Miami Dolphins and went on to produce successfully with the Cardinals — so is this pairing the real thing? (44:10) These are just a few of the names Liz and Matt play cupid with — where do you wish your favorite free agents would land this offseason?  Looking at 2020 RBs, WRs, and TEs — and should Taysom Hill be FLEX eligible? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:46:53

After yet another playoff comeback from a 10+ point deficit, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers to claim the Lombardi Trophy at Super Bowl LIV. Liz Loza and Matt Harmon recap their weeks in Miami (0:35) and big game (7:35) on the latest fantasy football podcast. Elsewhere in the NFL, Matt asked Taysom Hill about his fantasy eligibility, and the do-it-all Saint delivered his answer. Matt thinks he should not have FLEX eligibility — what do you think? (21:55) Speaking of shadowy quarterback situations, there continue to be reports out of Chicago that the Bears will add a veteran QB presence to challenge Mitchell Trubisky in camp. Liz & Matt speculate who that veteran passer could be. (29:15) Finally, Liz and Matt run down their way-too-early rankings for running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends.  Chiefs vs 49ers: Taking a longer look at both backfields and Deebo vs. Mecole in 2020 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:30:43

With the big game just a few days away, Liz Loza and Matt Harmon preview the matchup and much more from Radio Row in Miami on the latest fantasy football podcast! Before they get to that, breaking news out of Chicago: Mitchell Trubisky went under the knife to fix an injured shoulder. Could this cure his passing woes from 2019? Too bad it was his non-throwing shoulder that was injured the whole time. Loza continues to lament the QB situation in the Windy City. (0:35) Later, our experts give their initial thoughts on staying down in Miami, plus their experiences on Media Night, where Liz got the cold shoulder from Tevin Coleman. (3:05) The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs both provided a lot of fantasy goodness last season, and they’ll have some intriguing and interesting situations at both running back and wide receiver in 2020 Raheem Mostert has established himself as the leader of the 9ers backfield in recent weeks, but considering how things were playing out early in the season (with Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida shining in individual moments), is Mostert worthy of high draft capital next season? On the other side of the spectrum, will Damien Williams finally be a trustworthy season-long asset, or will we be teased with the upside of Darwin Thompson yet again? (10:20) At wide receiver, both teams have talented youngsters who will be entering Year 2: Deebo Samuel for the 49ers and Mecole Hardman for the Chiefs. The 2019 rookie wide receiver class was truly incredible — and an even better one might be coming in 2020. (15:25) After discussing all that, Liz and Matt give their final thoughts and predictions for Super Bowl LIV!  Packers & Titans post-mortem, Eli retiring, and ranking the QBs in 2020 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:45:17

This is it. The matchup is set. The Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers will meet for all the marbles at Super Bowl LIV. Who ya got? Liz Loza and Matt Harmon give their initial thoughts on the matchup in the latest fantasy football podcast. But we can’t forget about the teams the Chiefs and 49ers beat to get here. Liz and Matt give their thoughts on both the Titans and Packers — two squads that probably played beyond their means in these playoffs. (1:10) Elsewhere in the NFL, the offseason has continued chugging along, especially in East Rutherford. After hiring Jason Garrett as their new offensive coordinator, the Giants are now linked to Freddie Kitchens. (13:15) Speaking of the Giants, Eli Manning announced his retirement on Wednesday, and almost immediately the Hall Of Fame debate began — which side are you on? (19:40) The Jaguars hired Jay Gruden as their new OC, but head coach Doug Marrone has kept talks of a 2020 starter at quarterback under wraps thus far. (28:00) Our fantasy analysts published their way too early top 10 ranks at every position this week. Liz and Matt compare their notes on quarterbacks, and debate between Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes for the 2020 fantasy season.  Divisional round recap, championship preview, and more coaching changes | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:58:07

The NFL playoffs have not disappointed thus far, giving Liz Loza and Matt Harmon a lot to discuss on the latest fantasy football podcast. Kicking off the weekend, Kyle Shanahan, Robert Saleh and the San Francisco 49ers put on a show on both sides of the ball, completely dominating the Minnesota Vikings. Particularly impressive was the re-emergence of Tevin Coleman in the SF backfield. As always, the 49ers RB situation is hard to parse from a fantasy angle, but it demands your attention. (0:35) In an immense upset, Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry, and the Tennessee Titans continued their magic to knock off the Baltimore Ravens IN Baltimore one week after taking out Tom Brady and the Patriots IN New England. Derrick Henry, in particular, has been unreal in these playoffs, running for over 180 yards in consecutive weeks. Liz and Matt discuss whether the behemoth runner will be worth a top-five fantasy draft pick next season. (8:40). The Texans-Chiefs game was absolutely nuts. The Texans were up 24-0 at one point in the game, yet lost 51-31 to quarterback-god, Patrick Mahomes, and the Chiefs. Sorry, Bill O'Brien and the Texans, but our hosts are at a loss on how to stop this team. (20:25) Wrapping up Sunday's games, the Packers advanced to the NFC Championship on the backs of a great Aaron Rodgers performance and a greater Davante Adams performance. Pretty impressive considering the rest of the Green Bay WRs are Allen Lazard and a bucket of spare car parts. (25:50) Elsewhere in the NFL, Kevin Stefanski was hired by the Cleveland Browns to be their new head coach, right after the 49ers shut down the Vikings offense (33:50). On the other side of the spectrum, the Broncos fired Rich Scangarello and replaced him with Pat Shurmur as offensive coordinator (39:10) and the Jaguars parted ways with John DeFilippo (43:35). Liz and Matt discuss these moves and what they mean for fantasy. Finally, Liz and Matt pick this weekend's two conference championship games against the spread in Titans/Chiefs and Packers/49ers.  The coaching carousel is in full spin and divisional playoff round preview | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:04:03

Happy New Year! A LOT has happened since our last episode, but Liz Loza and Matt Harmon are back to talk all things football in the latest fantasy podcast. First up, the coaching carousel is in full effect, as one of the biggest pieces was knocked off the board. Jason Garrett is gone from Dallas, replaced by veteran coach Mike McCarthy, which feels a little bit like going from vanilla ice cream to ... artisanal vanilla ice cream. Liz and Matt explain why the move is probably good news for Dak and Zeke. (02:16) Ron Rivera is now the new head coach of Washington, while the Giants went with former Patriots WR coach Joe Judge as their new HC (and Garrett might apparently not be done with the NFC East). (11:15) Former Baylor coach Matt Rhule is the new HC for the Carolina Panthers. The Browns, however, are still exploring candidates like Josh McDaniels, Jim Schwartz and Eric Bieniemy. (14:15) Liz and Matt discuss all these hirings and their impact on the fantasy landscape. The Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs was a doozy: Kirk Cousins and the Vikings went to New Orleans and took out the Saints. (34:28) Derrick Henry barreled his way through Foxborough en route to a Titans upset, what's next for Tom Brady? (38:05) The Seahawks defeated an Eagles team that lost Carson Wentz to an injury just minutes into the game. (46:45) And Deshaun Watson led the Texans to a win over Buffalo. (51:56) Liz and Matt recap those matchups and then preview this weekend’s divisional round.  Week 17 Preview: What went right and wrong in fantasy in 2019 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:59:23

Well, the fantasy championships are over — UNLESS your championship game is in Week 17. If you do, we are obligated by the fantasy overlords themselves to say: “Your league is crazy.” But, if you like to live dangerously, Liz Loza and Matt Harmon have you covered for Week 17 in the latest fantasy football podcast. First things first: with the Ravens sitting Lamar Jackson (and others) for their Week 17 matchup against the Steelers, is RGIII a viable starter in daily fantasy? (0:50) Before we get to the rest of the Week 17 games, with 95% of leagues wrapped up for the year, there’s no time like the present to look back at the fantasy season. What happened to the consensus top four — Christian McCaffrey, Saquon Barkley, Alvin Kamara, and Ezekiel Elliott — this season? How did they finish the year? Was the consensus all wrong, or is this just part of variance? What about the rest of the guys drafted in the top 10? (4:20) After his incredible 2019 season, could Lamar Jackson be next year’s #1 overall pick? (7:00) And speaking of QBs, what do we make of the current top 10 — Jackson, Deshaun Watson, Dak Prescott, JAMEIS WINSTON, Russell Wilson, Josh Allen, Mahomes, Kyler Murray, Matt Ryan, and Carson Wentz — going into 2020? Should the whole “Wait on a QB” strategy change? Should we be looking to target dual-threat quarterbacks only? (15:05) Liz and Matt then look towards Week 17 and tell you the one thing you should look for in each game. (28:30) Please remember to rate, review and subscribe on your podcast provider of choice and send us your questions for future episodes on Twitter @YahooFantasy. We’ll be back after the New Year!  Week 16 Recap: Strange gifts and performances handed out in championship weekend | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:47:14

Just in time for the holidays, the football gods gifted us a strange Week 16 to wrap up the 2019 fantasy football season. Liz Loza and Matt Harmon discuss the wild Week 16 and the gifts they think each team received as a result of the weekend's games. For example, the Eagles gifted Cowboys fans what appears to be the end of the Jason Garrett era in Dallas. (01:22) Alvin Kamara found the end zone twice this week – his first scores since Week 3 – which might've been a gift that was too little, too late for his fantasy owners. Despite Kamara's season-long performance that didn't meet expectations, is he still a top 5 pick in 2020? (05:41) Brett Hundley, of all people, staved off a late comeback attempt by the Seattle Seahawks after Kyler Murray left the Cardinals game with a hamstring injury. Perhaps more so than #1 pick Murray, the real gift in Arizona might be Kliff Kingsbury, who is proving himself to be a more than competent NFL head coach. (10:42) Every Denver Bronco fan has been wishing for a QB ever since Peyton Manning hung up the cleats in 2016. Is Drew Lock the gift they've been waiting for? (13:48) In a startlingly high-scoring game, the Giants and Washington went into overtime tied 35-35! Dwayne Haskins went down with an injury, but it didn’t appear to be too serious. Daniel Jones, on the other hand, went absolutely nuts, throwing for 352 yards and FIVE touchdowns. What can we expect from these two young quarterbacks in their sophomore year? (21:02) Speaking of strangely high-scoring, how about those Bengals and Dolphins? Two months ago, this game looking like a snoozefest, and despite their bad records, these teams have set themselves up for interesting futures. (25:10) All those games and more on the last Sunday-night episode of the season.  Week 16 Preview: What you need to know before your fantasy championship – and what's going on in Jacksonville? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:57:29

It’s fantasy championship week (unless your chip is in Week 17 — if so, probably should change that), and Liz Loza and Matt Harmon have you covered with all things Week 16 in the latest fantasy football podcast. One of the biggest news items heading into the fantasy championship is Dak Prescott dealing with an injured throwing shoulder. Prescott himself has said he’ll be good to go for the Cowboys’ must-win matchup against the Eagles, but Liz and Matt discuss the potential fantasy ramifications this injury could have. (1:30) Elsewhere on the injury front, star wide receiver Chris Godwin (hamstring) will not be available for his fantasy managers as he was ruled out of Saturday’s game vs. the Texans. Breshad Perriman is expected to step into the WR1 role for the Buccaneers. What should we expect from Perriman and the rest of the fantasy assets in that game? (8:20) Our experts then discuss their Christmas wishes for the 2020 Jacksonville Jaguars. The 2019 version of the time just went through an odd, tumultuous week culminating in the firing of Tom Coughlin (coaches are probably next). (12:20) After doling out some more Christmas cheer to the struggling Rams & still-injured AJ Green (20:20), Liz and Matt then look towards Week 16 and tell you the one thing you should look for in each game. (27:40) Don’t forget to play in Yahoo’s Week 16 NFL $175K Baller contest! $10 entry fee and $15K to first place!  Week 15 Recap: Fringe playoff heroes and recap of a crazy semifinal week | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:40:41

What do Kenyan Drake, Breshad Perriman, Kenny Stills, Greg Ward, A.J. Brown, and Jamison Crowder all have in common? They probably sent some fantasy managers to the championship in Week 16. Liz Loza and Matt Harmon recap those performances and much more in the latest fantasy football podcast. (02:51) [Yahoo Sportsbook powered by BetMGM: Deposit $10, Get $100 in Free Bets. NJ only. 21+. Terms apply] It was a wild Week 15, with plenty of touchdowns to go around, making for some undoubtedly high-scoring fantasy semifinal matchups. Also, pure mayhem went down in the Bay area after the Oakland Raiders lost their final home game (14:27), and the San Francisco 49ers got shocked at home by the sorry Atlanta Falcons. (21:34) Sadly, not only did Dalvin Cook go down in Week 15 with a shoulder injury, but he was immediately ruled out for the rest of the game, which hints at the potential severity of the ailment. Does Mike Boone enter league-winner status? (19:20) Elsewhere in the NFL, the Kenny Stills, of all people, put the Houston Texans in the driver's seat for the AFC South with 2 TDs against the Tennessee Titans. (24:00) Somehow, the Bears wide receivers — specifically Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller — are making things work even though Mitchell Trubisky is ... not amazing. (26:53). At long last, Tyler Lockett returned to fantasy glory — but the Seahawks cannot play a normal game to save their lives (which might be good or bad, depending on what side of the fantasy fence you’re on). (29:34) Saquon Barkley delivered two touchdowns (although, since they were his first since Week 7, it might have been too little, too late for fantasy managers). Oh, and Eli Manning is back to .500! (33:08) Finally, Liz & Matt wrap up the show lamenting the complete no-show from the Los Angeles Rams and offensive explosion from the Dallas Cowboys.
