The year is 3042. In a future incredibly different from our present, Frank Gore rushes for another touchdown. Okay so he’s not that old, but his longevity does make one wonder about Gore’s potential immortality, as it was announced that he would be signing with the New York Jets. (06:41) Elsewhere in the NFL, the fifth-year option wheel began to turn, as both the Bears and Titans declined to pick up the options of Mitchell Trubisky and Corey Davis, respectively. Welcome back to the Yahoo Fantasy Football Podcast! In this episode, Yahoo's Liz Loza and Matt Harmon break down some of their favorite rookies from the back-end of the NFL Draft and take a look at some veterans who might be fighting for a job when (if?) training camp opens. Liz plans on taking a shot on the Tennessee Titans’ Darrynton Evans who'll likely slide into third-down duties with Derrick Henry's passing game woes, and Matt goes with Bryan Edwards, who'll likely start alongside fellow rookie Henry Ruggs in Las Vegas (00:51). Matt and Liz also look at two more rookies that they think could have big years, Washington's Antonio Gandy-Golden and Ke'Shawn Vaughn, who'll only need to leap frog Ronald Jones II to line up in the backfield with Tom Brady in Tampa Bay. (06:13) Elsewhere in the NFL, O.J Howard had his fifth-year option picked up in Tampa Bay (13:20), Andy Dalton was released by the Bengals (20:31), the Los Angeles Chargers held on to Justin Herbert's future security blanket Mike Williams (23:01). And while all this is going on, Cam Newton is still searching for a new team (27:48). Perhaps the New England Patriots will make a play? It's been way too long since they've had a former MVP under center. Well, it’s official: The Cam Newton era is over in Carolina. Liz Loza and Matt Harmon discuss the Panthers releasing the former MVP and more a bit later on the latest fantasy football podcast. First, two big-name running backs switched teams. The Los Angeles Rams released Todd Gurley, and he was subsequently signed to a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons. What a YEAR this week has been! Tom Brady to the Buccaneers — could Antonio Brown join him? — Philip Rivers to the Colts, both DeAndre Hopkins and Stefon Diggs got traded, and Cam Newton gave a very Cam-Newton-like reply to the Panthers allowing him to seek a trade. (6:56) All in a week’s worth of NFL Free Agency — and it’s not over yet. Liz Loza and Matt Harmon discuss it all and more on the latest fantasy football podcast. Another quarterback was on the move this week: The Jacksonville Jaguars traded Nick Foles to the Chicago Bears. (8:50) Does this mean the Gardner Minshew era has begun in Duval? Should Mitchell Trubisky be terrified? Elsewhere on the QB carousel, the Denver Broncos waived Joe Flacco due to what is being called a “failed physical designation.” Are they going all-in with Drew Lock — or are they about to make a move?
