On this episode of the Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast: The big question right now is what's going to happen during the mid-term elections. Will there be a blue wave or red wave or no wave at all? One things for sure it has a lot of people riled up and a lot of people wondering what's going to happen. I know people are interested in this because they keep asking me. Chris, what do you think's going to happen during the mid-terms? I guess as humans we're all very curious about the future. Look, I don't know and neither does anybody else. My gut feeling is that either the democrats will gain a few seats, maybe a dozen or so or, the republicans will stay in control. My gut feeling is that we won't see a blue wave whatever that means. You know if they get 15, 20 seats their going to celebrate that as a big win. Meanwhile Trump, despite all the attacks just keeps marching forward. The status quo has been that the sitting president loses control of the house and senate at the midterms and he becomes hamstrung. I think it's all part of the plot, part of the blame to falsely keep some equilibrium between the parties. Trump says the heck with that. I want to win and I want the American people to win we're going to fight for these elections. And, he's going out and pounding the pavement. So who will win? Tune in to find out what I think. According to Census data, over half of the people in America’s 5 largest cities don’t speak English at home. What does that tell you when so many people aren’t even speaking English? And, if we want to help the world is the answer really just bringing everybody here? California is now letting illegal immigrants serve on local and county boards and commission. They passed a law making it legal of illegal immigrants to serve in local government. The measure, passed by the Senate 26-11, would let people over 18 who lack authorization to live in the country be appointed to boards and commissions. Sen. Ricardo Lara, who authored the bill, says it would overturn laws designed to exclude immigrants from civic life. Do people understand consequences anymore? Everything has consequences. I mean aren't all the signs there at this point? I'm wondering where the climate change crowd is? How is they used the Puerto Rico hurricane to push climate change but not this one? How's that getting picked? The same thing happened with the Las Vegas shooting. The anti-gun crowd just skipped over that one but then the Parkland shooting they had the buses and protest signs ready before the school was even cleaned up. On this episode of the Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast: I ran into an old friend I hadn't seen in a while. He shared the news his son had recently died of an overdose. That's one issue, but the other thing that surprised me was how surprised he was that I didn't know anything about it. Do we even have an expectation of privacy anymore? A lawsuit has been filed against Google for tracking location data even then the option is turned off. Not only did they not turn it off but they clearly stated they weren't collecting the data when the option was selected to turn it off. Why would they be working so hard to collect this data and then not disclose it properly? All these devices are listening. I'm talking about the letter the Diane Feinstein received alleging complaints about judge Kavanaugh. On Thursday, Senate Democrats disclosed that they had referred a complaint regarding President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, to the F.B.I. for investigation. The complaint came from a woman who accused Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct when they were both in high school, more than thirty years ago. What if it were you, or your child or your spouse? You don't think it could happen? You bet it can. If it can happen to him it can happen to anyone. This is the problem when we ignore the basic principles of justice. Is this fair? Is this how we want our political system to work? No wonder we can't get good people in politics. Who would want to subject themselves to this? What sane person would want to be involved in something like this? SO I don't care if your liberal or socialist, whether you hate Trump you hate Kavanaugh you support abortion or whatever. Social media is single biggest polluter of the human mind ever in history. It's done more damage than mercury, lead paint and heroin combined. Both my parents were Marines and I was born in Beaufort S.C. home of Marine Corps Recruit Training Depot Paris Island. I would return there at the age of 17 and I became a Marine before my 18th birthday. And, I know that I have a big military following on this show and you know I enjoy talking about the military news and the Marine Corps. It's something I'm proud of. I'm honored by the brotherhood. I proud of the heritage and I'm proud I did it. But you know the Marine Corps has problems too. The difference is in how we deal with it. There were a couple of stories that broke recently one about Marine officers cheating on a land navigation test and another about a Marine Unit that got in some drunken trouble while they were deployed and the commander ended up getting relieved. I don't know how much you have been following the stories but it's bad. Really bad. It's bad for everyone not just Catholics. Do realize how much damage has been done to faith in the church, faith in society and faith in God? I have some questions about this. What do you call a church without morality? If there's no morality in the church where else will we find it? If children are abused who else is safe? If children are safe in the church where else can they be safe? Is justice a biblical principle? If there's no justice how can there be peace? What is Christianity without atonement? What is a world without Christianity? You might disagree but this is a big deal. On this episode of the Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast: You might not agree with this but there's plenty of jobs now and there will be well into the future. This idea that jobs are vanishing is a myth! How can I say that? If you read the news there's a robot take over and because of technology and automation we're losing jobs. And, I know if you're unemployed right now you're saying it's tough out there. It is tough out there. It always is. It's a different tough now and it will be a different tough tomorrow but that doesn't mean there won't be any jobs. There's plenty of jobs. The simple fact is there are plenty of jobs right now and I can prove it. More people are working now than ever before in the history of this country. There's a record number of people working right now. The people that push nothing but negative thinking will say, yeah there's jobs but they don't pay well. People say you can't get a good paying job. That's not true either and I can prove it. The treasury this year took in a record amount of taxes on personal income. So to say there are no jobs or there aren't enough good paying jobs is a lie. It's a myth. It's a myth that's promoted by people that like to promote negativity and we all know bad news sells.
