Episode 102: Intention Setting for 2017 | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: Unknown

Goal setting can be tough for me in this season of life, because I am not in a phase where I am constantly achieving measurable goals. If traditional goal setting works for you, great! Keep going! I'm cheering you on! But if not, I wanted to share what I'm doing to set intentions for the new year, in order to still keep myself moving forward, but in a way that better fits with where I'm at. Tune in to hear what intentions I'm setting and how I am figuring out which intentions to set. And I talk about barf. Sorry for that! Connect with Jessica: Instagram//Facebook//Email

Episode 101: Motherhood with Corrine Stokoe of Mint Arrow | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 48:12

My guest today is my favorite high-end, fashion deal finder Corrine Stokoe, who blogs at the site Mint Arrow. Not only does she scour the web for the very best deals on everything from fashion to beauty to baby, but she also shares with her followers her journey as a mom and wife. I love Corrine's authenticity as she shares about how she deals with life's challenges and what she focuses on when things get crazy around her. I know  you're going to love getting to know Corrine today! Show Notes: Check out Corrine's deals on her blog Follow Corrine on Instagram and Facebook Connect with Jessica: Instagram//Facebook//Email I want to thank our two podcast sponsors. The first is Audible. This is my very favorite way to get through my massive book list. They have a huge selection of audiobooks to choose from, and I can listen at my convenience while I'm working out, driving, or cleaning. Some of my favorites are Mindy Kaling's books, "Essentialism", and "Party Girl" (which Rachel Hollis narrates herself). Audible offers a 30-day free trial and you get a free book. It's completely risk-free and if you sign up through this link you are helping to support the podcast. So even if you just use it for a month, it's worth giving Audible a try. A next is Lily-Jade bags. These gorgeous bags are designed as diaper bags, but are fashionable enough to wear as your regular purse when you are without kids or have outgrown the diaper stage. These bags are so well made in all leather, and I love the removable organization pockets you can insert. If you are looking for a new diaper bag or large tote, definitely give Lily-Jade a try.

Episode 100: Updates from Our Favorite Guests | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:30:34

You guys... I've done 1-0-0 episodes!!! What?!?!? How did that happen? When I launched last January, I seriously thought only my mom and closest friends would listen, and that would have been fine. But I feel so honored that you have followed along as I have figured out how to host a podcast. There have been so many interviews over the past year that have really made me think and see things differently. No matter whether I can truly relate to their story or not, I find that the lessons they share from their own experiences are truly universal. In honor of the 100th episode, I wanted to bring back a couple of guests that were well loved by you guys! It was hard to pick just a couple, but I'm excited to give you an update from some of our past guests. First up, Danielle Stepp, an Extraordinary Mom of the Month Award winner. Danielle and I had never met before, but I'm so thankful to call her my friend now. Her battle with breast cancer was truly heroic and between her optimism and her country twang, what's not to love about Danielle. Let's see how she's doing since we last chatted. Oh, and if you want to learn more about her journey, she's put it all into a blog that you can find HERE. Next up is Jessica Gee (episode 23), of the Bucket List Family. The last time we chatted they were a few months into their world travels with their two little ones, and now it's been a year! She and I will chat about where they've been, favorite memories, humanitarian service, and what's next for their family. She's always such a delight to talk with. Enjoy this update. And for even more on their family you can follow them on Instagram or watch their amazing weekly videos on YouTube. The last time I spoke with Christina Smallwood (episode 62), she was months away from her daughter Finley receiving a life changing surgery for her Cerebral Palsy. Well, Finley had the surgery and they are back home recovering. Today, Christina will share how the operation went and what the future looks like for her sweet girl. And as always, she's great about posting darling matching photos of her with Finley on her Instagram or on her website. She also mentions how the book, "Uninvited," really impacted her. Remember how the last time I spoke with Heather Avis (episode 21) she said she has a book coming out in the spring of '17? Well, that very book, "The Lucky Few", is now available for pre-order and I'm so excited to talk with her about it today. I also get caught up on how Macy, Truly, and August are all doing. And if you don't already,

Episode 99: What Do I Think of the Podcast? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:51

A question I commonly get is, "So how do you think the podcast is going, Jessica?" So, I thought you might be interested in that answer. I ramble enough on this episode so I'm not going to write much here. But suffice it to say that this podcast and it's growth has exceeded my wildest expectations, has brought so much joy to my life, and has been a privilege to put together. Thank you for being a part of its success. You're an extraordinary mom!

Episode 97: When You Don’t Feel Like an Extraordinary Mom | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 26:56

Despite the name of my podcast, most of my guests would probably say that on a daily basis they don't feel like an "extraordinary mom." I know that I don't. But that being said, if we really look objectively at the work we are doing, we begin to see how extraordinary we truly are. How are we able to work 24/7, with plenty of physical labor, bodily fluids, repetitive tasks, etc... and all for no pay? The sacrifices we make each and every day to meet the needs of our children is nothing short of extraordinary. Our ability to love unconditionally even when they do things on the regular that certainly seem unlikable.. that is extraordinary. And yet we get caught up on our shortcomings and the areas where we fall short. We focus on our flaws instead of celebrate our successes. So today's podcast is preaching to the choir (I'm in your camp) about how to help yourself feel like more of an extraordinary mom. I guarantee you are doing better than you think you are. You don't have to be a perfect mom to be extraordinary. Show Notes: Book Recommendations: Melanie Shankle books, "For the Love" by Jen Hatmaker, Brene Brown, "Motherhood Realized", "Deliberate Motherhood" Connect with Jessica: Instagram//Facebook//Email

Episode 96: Parenting with Chronic Pain with Jackie Richards | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:18

Jackie Richards was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (an autoimmune disease) at 23. She had just gone through an emotionally traumatic year, was hardly eating or sleeping, and woke up one day with a handful of joints that would not move. She went 3 years with just being on medication, not finding any relief, but after having her baby boy come 6 weeks early at just 3 lbs, she decided it was time to quit being a victim to her illness (her baby boy came early due to the steroids and heavy medications she was on for my arthritis). Since that time, she has made various lifestyle changes which have contributed to her living a more healthy and beautiful life. In addition, she was just recently diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. She is a real trooper and I love her determination to change her attitude, though her circumstances were beyond her control. She is truly extraordinary!  Episode 95: Mom of the Month | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:41

This month's Extraordinary Mom of the Month Award winner is ElisaBeth Shah. She is an extraordinary mom who has also faced some extraordinary trials, including a difficult miscarriage and debilitating Post-Partum Depression. In our conversation she will share more about this journey and how it has shaped her perspective on motherhood. It's amazing what we go through to bring these little lives into the world, and when we are dealing with our own personal struggles, how we have to keep going for our kids. That is nothing short of a miracle. You can check out her blog HERE to read more about her journey. And if you want to participate in the #Lighttheworld initiative, inspiring people around the world to do acts of service in the month of December, you can get more information HERE.
