In the Author's Corner with Etienne

Summary: Hello, Friends and Visitors! We're are delighted to inform you that In the Author's Corner with Etienne is coming back home, effective the first of Dec 2020. As you might know, the devastation of dual-Hurricanes Irma and Maria knocked us off the air (with medical issues included), assigned me as a Crisis Counselor during the recovery phase, and awaking scheduling for my medical follow-ups! In the meanwhile, I have been preparing gifts and surprises for you, my Faithful Followers. More to come! (Want to be a guest? Then email me at emailme7261@gmail.com) ************************* We regret that, since the devastation of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, our studio and related technology have been down. Our intentions were to keep you posted on our status. That, unfortunately, has not occurred until now, Sept. 5, 2018. During the recovery process, I have been functioning as a Crisis Counselor, in a local nonprofit agency, funded by The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Most recently yours truly was promoted to Crisis Counselor Lead. This podcast will remain on hiatus until further notice.  Dr. Anita Nahal, the Diversity Queen, also an Author | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:31:00

Note the time in your Time Zone. Show airs at 7:00 am Pacific, 8:00 am Mountain, 9:00 am Central, 10:00 am Eastern, 11:00 am Atlantic. What Is Diversity? According to Dr. Anita Nahal, “The answer to this question can be simultaneously challenging and confusing, depending on one’s frame of reference. However, it is essential that we grapple with the meaning of diversity in order to understand its challenges and complexities."  In fact, there can be diversity in almost anything we can think of: what we wear, say, do, eat, and the list goes on indefinitely. Diversity is also a state and conditioning of the mind. And this, in turn, frequently leads to misconceptions and biases. Anita Nahal, PhD, CDP, teacher/professor, administrator, writer, publisher, and mentor for over 25 years, has a doctorate in US History and is a Certified Diversity Professional (CDP). Dr. Nahal, with significant work on diversity and multiculturalism, was honored by the Society for Diversity as the Member for the Month of March 2013. The write up is available at: http://societyfordiversity.org/uploads/ANahal_Member_Profile.pdf  A previous winner of 2 diversity-related awards at Howard University included the Cultural Diversity Awareness Award (2006) and the Unsung Hero Award (2007). With numerous diversity-related publications, Dr. Nahal’s research (along with co-PIs) include a major quantitative study on diversity at Historically Black Colleges and Universities which was published as a chapter in a book in 2015.

Steve Schwertley’s Revenge Unleashed Follows His Enemy in the Heartland | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:30:00

Excitement surrounds the release of Revenge Unleashed, the sequel to Enemy in the Heartland by author Stephen Schwertley. Revenge Unleashed is quickly being called a frightening success. As a compelling real-life story behind the book, Steve started to write books as a challenge to himself while recovering from a stroke. Writing novels helped him to heal from his stroke-related complications.  "These ideas had been in my head since suffering my stroke in July 2013. After Enemy in the Heartland, my readers demanded a sequel." so stated Steve, author of both classic action thrillers. "After the first book, I decided to challenge myself. Could I write a sequel that could outshine Enemy in the Heartland? Now that both novels are receiving 5-star reviews. Steve wrote the sequel with one thing in mind -- to give the readers of' Enemy in the Heartland' the same adrenalin rush in Revenge Unleashed. The plot, "Hatred runs deep when your friends are killed, even if you are a terrorist!" An attack on the central United States killed thousands of Americans but also cost the lives of most of the fanatics. Not satisfied with the damage already done, the surviving extremists vow revenge. Their target: The man who played a key role in bringing their compatriots to justice: the President of the United States. Standing in the way is a super-secret international counter-terrorism group."
