In this special edition of the Rev VR Podcast, I am joined by my good friend, Ela Darling, as we take the 2015 VRLA Summer Expo floor by storm. We hobnob with the VR community, mingle with celebrities, bang heads with rock stars, and report on it all for you, our dedicated listeners. This podcast has a bit more explicit language than I typically allow, but when you are having this good of a time, it's best to cut loose and just let it happen.

Cosmo Scharf, a good friend of the Rev VR Podcast, returns once again to talk about all of the exciting VR events happening in Los Angeles this year. With the VRLA Summer Expo and the second annual Proto Awards just around the corner, the VRLA team has a full lineup of VR to share with us.

I've finally settled into my new home and ready to pump out new content. In this episode, I share my zany journey from Cincinnati to Seattle, announce my new employer, and bring you up to speed on my status.

Sorry folks. It has been a solid month since my last podcast, and I am truly sorry that I have not been as active as I normally am. I have recently lost my job, got a new one, and am moving to Seattle. Lots of big changes for me. After SVVR 2015, I got the news that my company was outsourcing my position. While this would normally be a devistating blow to most folks with a family to care for, I took it as an opportunity to reach out to the VR community and say, "Hey, Rev. Kyle is ready to work for YOU!" After several offers, and much deliberation, I chose the best offer and started the process of moving my family out to Seattle, WA. Assuming all goes well, I will be there by the first of August, ready to take the VR world by storm. Since I didn't do any coverage of E3, I decided to touch on the one big thing that really stuck out to me, the level of negativity and naysaying that occurred afterwards. I, of course, have my own opinions on the matter, and spell them out quite vividly for you. So, as I say farewell to my hometown of Cincinnnati, and say hello to my new home in Seattle, I just want to assure everyone that the content will keep coming, and the interviews will be awesome. OlivierJT, developer of the award-winning Synthesis Universe joins me as I give a complete breakdown, analysis, and comparison, based on my own personal experiences with each of the HMDs.

This is my last episode before travelling to sunny California to experience the awe and wonder of the SVVR Expo. Before I packed up, I wanted to share a fun story with all of you that involves a YouTuber who accidentally stumbled into social VR. Caleb, who runs the Reality Check VR YouTube channel, had already been playing around with VR when he noticed a link on his Twitter feed. “VR Chat? What is that?” A quick download later, he clicked a notification that send him hurdling down the rabbit hole, and straight into Gunter’s Universe.

Rev VR Podcast (Ep. 103) More On Education in VR with Rob Swatton & Dave Weir Sometimes we touch on a subject lightly in one podcast, only to expand on it in great length in a future episode. Rev VR Podcast (Ep.101): Delivering VR Video Content with Alex Rosenfeld and Kuangwei Hwang I met Alex and Kuangwei at Oculus Connect last year, and we had a great time talking about VR video and their company's vision for the future. Now, they join me on the podcast to share their vision with the rest of the community. With a very soft launch of Vrideo.com last month, Alex and Kuangwei's team began their quest to become a provider of virtual reality video content for all of our HMDs. Sure, the big guys like YouTube are taking VR for a spin, but they are not focusing the much needed attention to it like Vrideo.

For the purposes of the discussion in this episode, I try really hard to be the objective side to the debate. Often, when someone tries a new piece of hardware for the first time, they can only see the positives. I attempt to keep the debate on equal ground as we delve deep into the implications of 15 feet of virtual freedom.
