When the body of believers is filled with healthy people, there's nothing that can stop us from reaching the world around us! But when our brothers and sisters are wounded, it's up to us to care for them so they can get well. We have a responsibility to look out for each other - that's what being part of God's family is all about!
Scripture teaches us true doctrine -- it corrects us, instructs us, and most of all, it completes us! God often uses other people to speak the truth of Scripture in our lives, but we also need to feed ourselves spiritually by reading and meditating on the Word. If we don't, the Spirit within us starves.

Let's face it: marriage is hard work! The Bible tells women to respect their husbands, but sometimes they don't act respectable. The Bible tells men to love their wives, but sometimes that doesn't come naturally. We don't always feel like toughing it out through the rough stuff, but marriage is God's perfect design. When we each stick to the role that God's created for us, we're better able to pray for our spouse, remain committed to our marriage, and trust God to do His work in our partner's heart.

God designed from the beginning for men to leave their parents, and to work and support themselves. The world doesn't need grown boys living off Mom and Dad -- it needs grown men who step up, take responsibility, and contribute to the world. And this becomes especially important when marriage factors into the equation!

We've all had moments that have affected us deeply, whether people have hurt us or we've hurt them. Too often, we carry the weight of those experiences with us for a long period of time -- sometimes even for life. God delights in turning those painful memories into beautiful tools to be used by Him for good, but He can't do it until we're first willing to forgive and move forward!

The "five-second rule" might apply to food :), but what's it got to do with God's instructions for us? Living a disobedient life only leads to more sin, but when we seek to right our wrongs immediately with God, we experience His peace. Instead of taking our time to think about what God's instructed us to do, what if we just obey Him?

People often get gym memberships because they have the best of intentions: they want to develop a physical fitness routine and get into healthy physical shape. All too often, however, those intentions don't become habits, and they fall by the wayside. In the same way, we often treat the church like the gym: we get the "membership" and attend sometimes, but we don't really use it to its fullest intended purpose. When we become actively committed and engaged in our local church, we develop healthy spiritual fitness habits. Not only that, we can become "trainers" ourselves, and help equip others in their spiritual fitness journey!

Sometimes it's hard to not be impatient about going to be with Jesus for eternity, especially when we see so much hurt and brokenness in the world where we currently live. While it's a beautiful thing to look forward to eternal life with Him, God's got a job for us to do with our earthly life in the meantime. We're alive for a reason: He's chosen to use us to reach others before we go home to Him.
