James 4:7 tells us that when we submit to God and resist the devil, Satan will flee from us. But even though we're to say no to the devil and his attacks, we're also called to follow where the Holy Spirit leads -- even if that's into harm's way. By staying in step with the Spirit, we're still sometimes led into dangerous places, but we go under God's protection as we fight for the sake of others.

It might sound harsh, but we all start out as "losers" -- because of sin, we've lost the ability to live in right relationship with God through our own doing. Our sole hope rests in Jesus, the only One who can turn us from eternal losers into eternal victors. He reaches out to us and offers this transformation freely -- but it's up to us to accept it!

The greatest way for us to honor God is by surrendering ourselves to Him and inviting Him to live in us and through us. As we grow in relationship with the Lord, our desire to honor Him with our resources, our actions, and our hearts also grows. And when we choose to honor Him, He chooses to honor us.

Many people feel like they'd be crashing a party if they went to church without an invitation. When we accept God's invite to be part of His family, He responds by saying, “You’re welcome.” But once we're part of the family, we have a responsibility to extend that invitation to others and welcome them in.

We can respond to suffering in one of two ways: allow it to build and strengthen our character, or allow it to take us down and drive us back toward sin. Here's the good news: God gives us the strength to endure through the suffering! He calls us to soldier on through the struggle, and to keep our hope in Him.

Who needs to go to the doctor for a "stress test" when we face a daily stress test called "life"? Our lives are often overwhelmed by stress, and the weight of it can be crushing. God's promised us that with His power in us, we can bear all things -- but we can't do it without Him.

The story of Esther shows us how one woman took the chance that God gave her. She chose to obey Him, and in doing so, she ultimately saved her people. Our purpose in this life isn't simply to be happy and live selfishly. It's to seek out the people God's placed in our lives and take what might be our one and only chance to share the Gospel with them.

On Wall Street, "insider trading" is a bad thing. But when it comes to our relationship with the Lord, the best trade we can ever make is to trade in our lives for the will of God! When we let His light shine through us, God's Spirit living inside you and me is what attracts other people to Him.
