If hell's a corporation, Satan's the CEO. And because we're all born sinners, we wind up working for the devil from day one. God gives us the opportunity to switch sides and work for Him by offering us His free gift of salvation -- we just have to receive it.
Let's face it: pain's a part of this life. Sometimes painful things happen to us; other times, we inflict hurt upon ourselves through sin. Regardless of where our pain comes from, when we choose to worship God even in the midst of our deepest suffering, we can find comfort and relief in His grace.

Salvation isn't fair -- that's why it's called "grace"! What we might see as unfair, God sees as loving. He gives all the opportunity to come to Him, right up until the very end. Instead of focusing on other people's sin and their journey to salvation, we should be thanking God for accepting and forgiving us in the first place!

The Bible clearly teaches the importance of giving to the poor and of caring for widows and orphans. But giving of our finances isn't supposed to be about obligation -- it's meant to be an act of obedience. When we give sacrificially, we're trusting God to provide for all our needs.

Jesus tells us we can't serve two masters -- and the only Master who will actually take care of us and provide for all of our needs is God Himself. If we let go of serving other masters like money, materialism, or even other people, we're able to serve Him fully and completely. And when we know we're in the hands of the Master, the result is an ability to live freely in contentment and in faith.

Scripture doesn't beat around the bush. The Bible warns that the devil is constantly attacking us with the intention of devouring us. We're all in a spiritual battle, and the only way we can stand and fight is by delving into the Word and putting on the full armor of God for protection.

Following God isn't supposed to be something that burns us out. As He works in us and through us, He also carries our burdens and gives us rest -- if we let Him. When we're not trying to shoulder the load all on our own and we stop working ourselves into exhaustion, we're able to step back and find the complete spiritual rest that God offers to us.

The grass isn't greener on the other side -- the grass is greener where you water it! In marriage, it's important to remain faithful and to continue pursuing one another even when the relationship doesn't always seem thrilling. In the same way, our relationship with God might not always feel "exciting", but when we continue to pursue Him even in what feels like the dry spells, we see the evidence in our lives that He's been faithful to us all along.
