It's our second-to-last podcast of 2012 as we have already begun preparations on next week's Holiday Spectacular, but before we get to that today we review Zero Dark Thirty and Jack Reacher while also holding our Winter 2013 Box-Office Draft. We answer a couple of your questions, play some Over/Under, Buy or Sell and two Watch This or Watch That segments plus a fun Would You Rather provided by Disco Paco.

Following today's podcast there are only two more podcasts left for 2012, which becomes the first topic of conversation today as we lay out the schedule for the final two remaining podcasts of the year. After that we get into a series of random topics, some not movie related, before taking a look at MTV's Top Ten Films of 2012, exploring a new #GoodComments submission, answering your questions and talking about the new DVD and Blu-ray releases. After that we have several of our games including Over/Under, Buy or Sell, Foreign Titles, Would You Rather and Watch This or Watch That. It's a bit of a random episode, but we think it turned out pretty good. Hope you enjoy.

Nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Golden Globes were released this week and Laremy and I have plenty to say about those as well as offer up our review of Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. In addition to that we talk about the drummed up controversy surrounding Zero Dark Thirty, answer your questions, Laremy teases his top ten of 2012, we play a little Over/Under, read from four new reviews of the podcast on iTunes (thank you!), play Buy or Sell and offer a new Watch This or Watch That segment.

With the announcement of the 2013 Critics' Choice Awards this morning we dedicated the majority of this episode by looking at the nominations category-by-category and revealing our nominees for each category and our thoughts on each. In addition to this we were able to get to a couple of listener questions and the always reliable Over/Under section. Hope you enjoy.

The year is winding down and we are seeing movies at a rapid pace and today we review one of the year's biggest and most anticipated, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. We are also still sorting out what screeners we need to watch before we hand in our Critics' Choice nominations on Sunday and what films we're looking at in categories such as Best Comedy, Best Action Film and Best Sci-Fi/Horror film. Among the award talk and reviews we also answer several of your questions, get involved with a little Buy or Sell and Over/Under, play a little True or False and take part in a fun Watch This or Watch That segment before Laremy sings us out of here.

It's an episode filled with awards talk including the New York Film Critics results, the Oscar documentary shortlist, a look at the genre categories at the Critics' Choice Awards and an Oscar lightning round. Considering it's Tuesday we also take a look at the new DVDs and Blu-rays releasing this week (The Dark Knight Rises anyone?) and on top of that Laremy is once again trying to guess the movie based on the foreign movie title. Then there is the ever-reliable Over/Under and Buy or Sell segments along with a great Watch This or Watch That segment.

Wrapping this week up with yet another Friday edition of the RopeofSilicon podcast where we kick things off with a nearly 30-minute discussion of the screeners we've been watching from documentaries such as Searching for Sugar Man and The Central Park Five to the just-received Les Miserables. Then we transition into reviewing this week's new release Killing Them Softly, answering your questions, a little Over/Under and Buy or Sell as well as a game of True or False graciously submitted by Snicket.

We are back to our regularly scheduled podcast programming following last week's holiday shift and we have a great 93-minute episode to hold you over as we start of with some Oscar chatter that quickly bleeds into the Box-Office challenge as well as a discussion of what screeners we've been watching lately. Then we hit several of your comments, which includes a lengthy discussion concerning Life of Pi that some of you may consider a spoiler if you have not yet seen it. In addition to that we have Over/Unders, What This or Watch That and Would You Rather as well as more and more and more of your questions. We hope you enjoy.

Some of you asked for it and now you finally got it, a two hour podcast is here to hopefully satisfy your ear hole desires as we are only bringing you one podcast this Thanksgiving week. In today's episode we offer up three reviews for Life of Pi, Red Dawn and Rise of the Guardians. We also discuss Lincoln a little further, question what exactly constitutes a performance, play some Over/Under, Guess that Title, Buy or Sell and answer as many of your questions as we could possibly fit into this two hour episode.

It's been a while since we had three movies to review, which means today's episode is a little longer than normal as we get to discuss The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, Anna Karenina and Silver Linings Playbook. On top of that, Laremy gets to try and guess movies based on their German titles and we get to several of your questions and over/unders in an episode that runs a whopping 99 minutes long. There is also one show note I want to make sure you're aware of, there will be no Tuesday or Friday podcast next week due to the Thanksgiving holiday and instead there will only be one Wednesday podcast. So adjust your calendars appropriately.

It's always interesting when these podcasts go in directions I don't expect, which happened today as we went on a tangent discussing comparisons between Disney and Pixar and also a lengthy Oscar discussion that wasn't planned. On top of that we continue our discussion of how gay characters are portrayed in films, the future of the Twilight franchise is The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 hits theaters this weekend, new DVDs and Blu-rays and much more over the course of 75 jam-packed minutes.

Hello and welcome to this week's Friday edition of the RopeofSilicon podcast as we review Lincoln, continue to talk about Skyfall and answer a few of your James Bond-related questions and, for that matter, answer even more of your questions. We play a little Over/Under, Buy or Sell and Would You Rather and just your average, every day, general movie-related banter for all of 83 minutes. We hope you enjoy.

Laremy is back in Seattle and we are back for another Tuesday edition of the RopeofSilicon podcast wherein we offer up our thoughts on Skyfall and thanks to a discussion in the comment section of last Friday's podcast we offer some thoughts on Lincoln and the idea of historical accuracy and inaccuracy in movies and how that affects our viewing experience. As we do on Tuesdays each week we also mention the new DVDs and Blu-rays arriving and today we have a series of news topics, your questions, Over/Unders, Buy or Sell and Watch This or Watch That. The episode runs what seems to have become and approximate standard of 81 minutes in length and we hope you enjoy.

After the very long Tuesday episode, this Friday episode is dialed back a bit as Laremy is in Chicago and Brad is still trying to wake up after a late night with Lincoln. On today's podcast we offer our thoughts on Flight and Wreck-It Ralph and explore or thoughts on the Disney purchase of LucasFilm and the possible future of the Star Wars franchise. Today's episode ended up being our longest episode since in almost five months as we managed to ramble on for 101 minutes with topics ranging from the questioning of the cultural relevance of movies today versus television, the box-office result of Cloud Atlas, new DVDs and Blu-rays, how we go about writing reviews and a lengthy discussion on what our daily schedules are like, how we got into this business and our thoughts on what someone should do if they wanted to give it a go.
