For a few years I've been wondering about how classic Sonic is "from another dimension," but I recently came across the theory that the Time Eater snatching classic Sonic, Tails and Eggman in Sonic Generations created an alternate timeline - the Sonic Mania timeline, if you will. But now that this thing finally makes sense to me, I've started wondering what the cause of the timeline split is. What changed that made the Phantom Ruby appear in the Mania timeline, but not the main series timeline? Sonic and Tails got back to their own time at the end of the game in Generations, so that shouldn't have made a significant difference. Was the big change that classic Eggman was trapped in Whit...

Did you have any plans for stories or characters in this area of the world that will eventually see the light of day in Lost Hedgehog Tales? If not, what do you think you'd come up with if you were asked to pitch a new team of characters from this region? Alex M. In the last two Sonic IDW Annuals, why is it that Amy didn't really physically appear but was still featured in the covers? Will she ever actually appear in an Annual or is there just no ideas/interest on a story featuring her? And two, I notice that despite the leadership/tactician role she's been filling, she is a lot less physically active that she was before. Is that because of her role in Forces and is it permanent or will she become more of an active fighter as the comic goes along? Lastly I wanted to thank you for what you said in the last Q&A about Tangle & Whisper and creating them to have more active female characters in the story. I'm glad to hear you want there to be more active female characters. You see i'm a trans woman, and it is very important to me to see more relevant female characters in the stories i'm into. I hope this means there will be even more of a push for female characters in the comic and more female focus in general. Or at least more balance between the male and female characters. PS. About your Sonic stories before joining Archie...Ian, why do you always write your Sonic the Hedgehog fan-fictions as grim, dark, and mean-spirited where you portray the characters as hypocritical terrorists, evil generic villains, being jerks to other characters despite their actual dynamic in the official games, GUN as villains, and either brutally killing off characters, or giving them downer endings where they lose everything and everyone that they love, sometimes deciding to take over the world for the sake of world peace? Did you use to have problems as a teenager or do you just like writing dark and gritty stories of a franchise targeted...

In the Archie reboot, if there was a mandate that SEGA characters are not allowed to have family members introduced into the comics, a mandate that Penders characters or locations or events cannot be mentioned or named beyond vague references, and a mandate that classic forms of characters can’t be implied to be younger forms of the characters, how were you able to get away with giving Shadow a biological brother in the form of Eclipse the Darkling, making Naugus and Wendy Witchcart brother and sister, retelling the story of how Sally met Nicole in holo-form for the first time, and making Sonic, Tails, and even some of the SatAM cast look like their classic selves when going into flashbacks of their past?
