September 1, 2023 - Season 14, Episode 17 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers already shuffling their initial 53-man roster for the 2023 season by waiving P Braden Mann and signing CB Desmond King. The Steelers have now almost filled their 16-man practice squad to start the 2023 season, so Alex and I go over the 14 potential members of it as of Friday morning. We also discuss what the remaining vacant spots might be from a positional standpoint. With King now a member of the Steelers, Alex and I go over his recent tape and where he seems to best fit on defense moving forward. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers trading G Kevin Dotson to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night. We go over all the details of that trade and that includes compensation, cap impact, why the move happened and what it might mean for the offensive line group on the 53-man roster. We discuss the possibility of two Steelers' offensive linemen, Spencer Anderson and Dylan Cook, both making the 53-man roster on the heels of Dotson being traded. We also discuss if C Kendrick Green still has a chance of sticking around with Dotson now gone. The Steelers trimmed their roster down to 80 active players since our last show, so Alex and I pass along the nine other players that were cut in addition to Dotson being traded. Alex and I have both submitted out final 53-man roster predictions, so we review our choices and why we chose certain players over others. We differ on two players overall in our 53-man selections. We also discuss the bubble players we both have entering this week's roster cutdown. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers ending their 2023 preseason on Thursday night with an impressive win against the Atlanta Falcons on the road. We start by discussing the great offseason the Steelers had this year and how it couldn’t have been scripted any better. We also talk about the health of the Steelers coming out of the Thursday night game. We go over the short list of players that sat out Thursday night against the Falcons as well. As far as recapping the Thursday night game, Alex and I start on the offensive side and go position group by position group. We address the early big plays, how quarterback Kenny Pickett looked in addition to discussing a few other boxes the offense checked Thursday night. Alex and I spend a lot of time on the offense before moving over to the defensive side of the football. All of the position groups are discussed along with the play of several individual players. We talk about a few tough decisions that the Steelers will need to make in the coming days on that side of the football. Yes, we talk some about the play of rookie OLB Nick Herbig Thursday night.
