Season 7, Episode 22 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, David Todd and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers injury report from Thursday and how the team will have tough choices when it comes to setting their pre-game inactive list Sunday night. Will the Steelers have to make a roster move on Saturday because of the finger injury suffered Thursday by offensive lineman B.J. Finney? We discuss that possibility as well as how the Steelers defense will likely feature several players who have to play a snap so far this season. We move on to thoroughly discuss the Steelers upcoming Sunday night game against the Kansas City Chiefs. David and I both expect the Steelers offense to get back on track this weekend and especially being as running back Le’Veon Bell is now back from his three-game suspension. We also talk about how often we expect to see Bell and veteran running back DeAngelo Williams on the field together Sunday night as well. The Steelers defense needs to rebound this weekend and with the Chiefs coming to town, David and I like the chances of that happening. We talk about Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith and the sacks he’s taken so far this season and how the Steelers defense should have success if they can keep the Kansas City offense behind the chains on early downs and win several of their one-on-one matchups. We discuss a few snap to throw times from the Steelers loss last Sunday to the Philadelphia Eagles and how one throw early in that game from quarterback Carson Wentz really needs to be pointed out. In the second half of this podcast David and I discuss the play of several young quarterbacks around the league so far this season and we cap things off by giving you our picks for all of the Week 4 games. As usual, we save our Steelers game prediction for last to close out this Friday show. Ahead of talking about the debacle at Lincoln Financial Field, David and I run down the long list of injuries that the Steelers suffered during Sunday’s game. We move on to throw as much mud as we can on the play Sunday of the Steelers offense and defense and we start with the latter side of the football. We discuss how the Eagles offense used their screen game to register several explosive plays on Sunday and how this is becoming a common theme now for the Pittsburgh defense. We talk scheme, lack of pressure and sacks on Sunday and how things really need to change drastically moving forward if this team hopes to rebound and compete for a championship this season. Should the Steelers entertain using safety Shamarko Thomas on defense if the hamstring injury suffered Sunday by fellow safety Robert Golden winds up resulting in him missing time? We actually discuss that topic along with the bad play by several other Steelers defensive players against the Eagles. We save the bad play of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and the rest of the offense for the second half of this podcast. That includes us talking about the several drops that wide receiver Markus Wheaton had during the game in addition to guard David DeCastro and the rest of the Steelers offensive linemen being handled quite easily by the Eagles front-four. David and I have quite a bit to talk about during this recap and as usual, we discuss the play of the Steelers on both sides of the football against the Bengals in addition to pointing out several individual performances in the game both good and bad. We talk about how Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had a rough day against the Bengals and especially when it came to his deep passing. While running back DeAngelo Williams only averaged 2.9 yards per carry Sunday against the Bengals, it was an impressing showing in our eyes. We discuss how much dime personnel the Steelers defense played against the Bengals in addition to how little they seemed to blitz throughout the game. Will defensive coordinator Keith Butler continue to use this same approach in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles and their rookie quarterback Carson Wentz? We discuss it. There were several questionable calls by the officiating crew on Sunday so David and I make sure to discuss a few of them.
