We first go over the trading of quarterback Joshua Dobbs and the re-signing of quarterback Devlin Hodges to the practice squad and discuss how it looks like the team is intent on moving forward with just two quarterbacks on their 53-man roster for the time being.We go over the history of the Steelers dating back to 2000 regarding them usually keeping three quarterbacks on the 53 and recap the few games where they only had two. we also discuss what future roster contraction might look like moving forward. The Steelers lost outside linebacker Tuzar Skipper to the New York Giants on Monday so Alex and I discuss how unfortunate that was.Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his usual press conference on Tuesday so Alex and I go through all of the main talking points that stuck out to us. 9/6/19Season 10, Episode 14 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can and in this Friday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the Thursday night 2019 NFL regular season opener between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears.Moving along, Alex and I discus the Wednesday and Thursday injury reports released by both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots ahead of the Sunday night game between the two teams. We then proceed to give offensive and defensive breakdowns of both the Steelers and Patriots and what we expect from the four units Sunday night. We get as comprehensive as we can in theses breakdowns of both team.After previewing the Steelers Sunday night game against the Patriots, Alex and I then address what all has happened with Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown the last few days. We add our thoughts on how we would handle Brown right now if we were general manager Mike Mayock.As we’ll do every Friday throughout the 2019 NFL season, Alex and I give our picks against the spread for every game that will be played this weekend. Tomlin gave us quite a few talking points on Tuesday so Alex and I start going through them all one-by-one.We also talk about what the Steelers first official injury report of 2019 might look like when it is released at the conclusion of Wednesday’s practice. We go position group by position group and discuss the initial roster decisions that were made and more.News broke Monday morning that wide receiver Johnny Holton was added to the practice squad so we discuss that late move and the Steelers reportedly putting in a waiver claim for tight end Ricky Seals-Jones on Sunday. With that failed claim behind them, Alex and discuss whether or not a tight end will be added to the 53-man roster by Monday evening and what a potential corresponding move might be.The Steelers finally were able to sign cornerback Joe Haden to an extension on Sunday so Alex and I discuss that transaction in addition to going over the early reported numbers and what the potential effect on the salary cap it should have.
