 S1E15 -My Road to 43 Years Old - Turning The Table (with Carla B & 52 Friends) | File Type: audio/wav | Duration: 00:52:13

There are moments in your life that simply take your breath away..in a good typa way!  This is one of them. Imagine being still while 52 others gift you feedback or share tidbits to you, about you.  Imagine their words being intertwined into the story that you are simultaneously telling of yourself, through a powerful interview, conducted by a close friend. Sounds uncomfortable right?    Imagine pointed questions, some of which make you feel vulnerable & others that have you talk aloud of your wins.  It’s my true journey to 43 years old and I am sharing the ups, downs, twists, and turns.  It was during these moments that I finally felt what Grandma Bea meant when she said, " you must find a way to smell your roses while you are here on this earth."  I must say that I am soooo grateful for each of you!   In this episode, we talk fears, tears, my lowest moments, highest pinnacles, barriers still before me, how I've coped with grief and of course, I made a bit of time to celebrate wins in the midst of it all.  This episode turns the tables, in this unconventional year of 2020, for my 43rd birthday, where I'm being interviewed instead of being the interviewer. AHHHHH!! Are you ready? I sure am.   Confession: Recording and editing this eqpisode was such an emotional and fulfilling experience. Originally intended to feature clips of 43 listeners to help me celebrate 43 years of life, I included 52 of you, who left me the most amazing, heartfelt, & genuine messages! THANK YOU for taking the time. It means sooo much for so many reasons.   Here are 52 minutes for 52 folks & an interview-style story.  I LOVE IT!  and guarantee there are still nuggets for you to grab and apply to your everyday + times when you will grab a few laughs as well.   Thanks for being a part of my journey. I appreciate you, Lolita

S1E12 - How Adversity Can Help Find Your Purpose (with Chef Keesha O'Galdez) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:41:58

Chef Keesha O'Galdez shares how adversity helped find her purpose.  When two Simmons Graduate School of Management grads get together, we have some good ole-fashioned conversations.  Today, we are having a bit of fun and leaving you with a few nuggets and experiences that you may be able to relate to.  From losing a job to moving to a new city, to hearbreak, then leaping into your purpose, we talk it all!  There's even an aha that stuck out, as I travelled down memory lane, to my Simmons days.  It had me giving a shout out to Dr. Stacy Blake-Beard, whose leadership course helped me find aspects of my inner voice that were simply waiting to be unleashed. You wouldn't know it now, but Chef Keesha didn't initially know that gifting people joy through her cooking was her purpose. It was through adversity that she discovered that .. this is it!  The thing is .... most of us are no different. Have you conqured adversity in your life?  Hmmmmm. I am sure the answer is absolutely.  If I were to ask you how you define purpose, what would you say?  Do you believe that you have discovered YOUR purpose? It’s not uncommon for the answer to the latter question to be "not really." Just know that you are not alone. On this episode, I’ll share four considerations when traveling your path that may be plagued with adversity, we'll have a few laughs & celebrate a few wins! The affirmation, from Walker & Walker Enterprises, that kicks off this episode is " I am choiceful in creating the footprints on my journey."  We will challenge that today.  You can grab your 40-card affirmation deck at https://www.lolitawalker.com/shop.  We start our intro (minute 1:14) and hear from our sponsor, Southern Elegance Candle Company (with a special promo code specifically for listeners of the Coaching, Cocktails, & Conversations podcast (minute 4:38).  We quickly jump into our first layer of coaching (minute 5:42), where I gift you soul work that takes you on a path of adversity with breadcrumbs and a light hahah #imaginethat.  We, then, celebrate cocktails (minute 18:27) with chers to you and all of your greatness!  And finally we end with a great conversations (minute 23:14) with Chef Keesha and I, who then drop some fire nuggets for you to walk away with.  S1E10- This is My Journey: It's Time to Write & Own Yours! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:33:22

How often do we allow our limiting beliefs and those crazy negative talks in our head shut us down and make a u-turn on our journey's? How often do we sit in the comfort of complacency because it is easiest and most familiar to us? Well, in episode #10, I'm gifting you a pause and taking you through how to write your own "Journey Story."  You are invited to listen in...and then meet me on the virtual dance floor because....I'm celebrating my #smallwin of hitting 10 podcast episodes AND 1K listens for a single episode....yep! If you don't celebrate, who will? I'll see you there!   Whether a person, a circumstance, or a situation, we are not defined by either. This episode is a reminder from me to you!  It is a reminder that your journey is yours alone and.....the best part about it is that you have the authority to write it, make a u-turn, should you choose, own it, and then you also hold the permission slips to give only to those who you deem worth to help you walk, run, or climb your journey....YOUR WAY!  Today, we start the process of writing you journey!  Are you ready? In this episode's coaching, the soul-work is mapping a path that has one or a few junctions along the journey, then identifying and facing fear head on.  I use Stop 1 in my book, The Intersection of You & Change (https://www.lolitawalker.com/the-book), pages 12 and 13) as a reference for consideration in framing your thoughs around your journey.  In cocktails, we give a cheers to our small wins and the nuggets that you pulled away and then in conversations, I answer some questions that you have sent in.  Sidenote:  Y'all are HILARIOUS!!!! Do I write all of the exercises and really do them with you?  What has been the toughest part of my business journey? Hmmm, they are good questions, but y'all really keep me in stitches.  I think I laughed most of the episode. The affirmation that kicks us off is I am grounded in my values and principles and will only shift to soar further and farther along my journey.  I welcome each of you (minute 1:45), gift a bit of coaching (minute 3:43) and soul-work (minute 9:50), celebrate your takeaways and highlight the greatness you are during cocktails (minute 24:26) then conversations (minute 26:05) , which is where I answer a few of your questions, laugh a bit, and challenge you to answer them as well. It's a bonus episode on Forgiveness!  Who is forgiveness for? Can you forgive?  Will you forgive?  Forgiveness Freeway is Stop 6 in my book, "The Intersection of You & Change" and this episodes journeys you through the various sections at this stop (chapter). Whether you have my book or it is still on your to-do list, we chat through how we each may better embrace forgiveness, are reminded that forgiveness does not mean "to forget," and we even find a bit of time to craft our own forgiveness story during the conversations portion of this episode.Sometimes we get caught up in the emotions, the hurt, and sometimes even the ego of it all, which hinders our progression forward.  How can we become our best self if we are holding on to the baggage that forgiveness is leaving around?   Forgiveness Freeway is only one of seventeen stops within my book of self-discovery, motivation, empowerment, and both personal and professional growth. From Journey Junction to Gratitude Gateway, this will challenge your thinking today and I am super excited to get right into it!  If you love what you hear, please grab your copy at https://www.lolitawalker.com/the-book.  The affirmation that kicks off this episode is "I am a forgiver and I forgive me first."  Whew! Whewwwww chillleeeeee. During cocktails, I cheers to you and your wins, and conversations offer us a bit of reflection through questions directly from my book.  Of course, at the end of it all, I leave you with new strategies on how you can craft your own forgiveness story beginning today!    **Don't forget to subscribe to Coaching, Cocktails, & Conversations and be sure to leave a glowing, 5-star review, IF it resonated with you!** Links referenced during the episode: The CC&C Journal to use during each podcast episode:  https://www.lolitawalker.com/downloads My Book, The Intersection of You & Change:  https://www.lolitawalker.com/the-book  Personal or Professional Coaching with Me, including personalized coaching specifically through the exercises within my book, "The Intersection of Change.":  https://www.lolitawalker.com/coaching  My 40-card Affirmation Deck:  https://www.lolitawalker.com/shop  Other links worth referencing: Donate to my small biz & help keep podcast going:  https://www.lolitawalker.com/donate  My TEDxtalk:  https://bit.ly/LolitaTakesTedx

Major right?  It sounds great, yet it's not the easiest thing in the world to do.  Today, I welcome you to the kitchen-table (minute 0:50), gift a bit of coaching & soul work (minute 4:36) to challenge your thinking, enjoy a few cocktails (minute 14:42) to celebrate all of the greatness you are, then we have some good ole fashioned conversations, just you & I (minute 16:36).   In coaching, we hear a poetic acronym (F.O.R.E.G.I.V.E.N.E.S.S.) to set the tone, talk more about what it is, and hear a bit of my forgiveness story of divorce.

S1E7 - Rebounding with Resilience: How Long Will You Stay At The Bus Stop? (with Ingrid S. Clay) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:35:35

How long will we stay seated at the bus stop watching our hopes, dreams, and endless possibilities pass us by?  How long will we hold the heavy bags of our past and allow them to keep us in the valley?  "I am the single approver of me and I trust myself completely!"  Let's let that sink in for a moment.  We are shifting and shaking in this episode to get each of up and moving toward the greatesness that awaits.  Today, I'm joined by Fitness Trainer, Former Brand Ambassasdor for Puma, and Plant-Based Chef, Ms. Ingrid S. Clay.  Most recently featured at the first virtual Essence Festival, I am so excited to welcome Ingrid to our "kitchen-table" for some good ole fashioned conversations! In this episode, Ingrid and I become vulnerable, talk about our own valleys and low-points, fears, what we are working on, wins that we are proud of, and then I leave you with 7 strategies to consider when deciding that you are ready to rebound with resiliance and even promise a bonus episode next week on Forgiveness!  While this rebound is not easy...please know that it is ABSOLUTELY doable! There is a future-best-you that is ready to be unleashed and is simply waiting for you to get up from that bus stop and keep it moving, while taking the lessons learned.   I welcome you to the kitchen-table (minute 1:16), gift a bit of coaching (minute 2:42) & then we get into our soul work (minute 5:13) to challenge you a little bit, enjoy a few cocktails (minute 15:56) to celebrate all of the greatness you are, then we have some good ole fashion conversations, just you & I (minute 16:48).   In coaching, I share three bags that I held on to in my valley for a long while.  During our soul-work exercise, I talk you through the imagery that takes us to a bus stop!  I'd love to hear what you labeled your bags.  During cocktails, I give a cheers to you and your wins, and conversations offer us a bit of reflection and more nuggets of how to rebound and also have a few laughs.  **Don't forget to subscribe and review to this podcast, Coaching, Cocktails, & Conversations with Lolita E.
