Dr. Fresch interviewed on the Mobile Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 4/28/23   About Dr. Fresch -   In 2013 after winning Insomniac’s Discovery Project Contest, Tony Fresch launched the Dr. Fresch brand. His debut self-titled EP and innovative hip-hop/rap remixes quickly exploded in the blogosphere. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Fresch was subsequently featured at #9 on Billboard Magazine’s “Next Big Sound” Chart. His music weaves together elements of house, hip-hop/rap, and midtempo to create a unique, forward-thinking sound.   Over the summer of 2015, Dr. Fresch launched his semi-monthly mix series “House Call” which has since garnered tens of millions of plays. Each installment features a 30 minute Dr. Fresch mix followed by a 30 minute guest mix and is featured on Sirius XM on Mondays.   Dr. Fresch’s 2016 collaboration with Baby Eazy-E (Eazy-E’s son) “Gangsta Gangsta” went viral online and climbed the UK Club Charts setting the tone for his future releases. Dr. Fresch has since released records on the likes of OWSLA, Insomniac Records, Atlantic, Ministry of sound. He continues to play a prominent role on the festival circuit with plays at likes of EDC Las Vegas, Paradiso, Moonrise, Electric Forest, CRSSD, Splash House, Osheaga, Shambhala and more.   In early 2018, Dr. Fresch released his collaboration with Bijou and Denzel Curry entitled “Revelation” on Insomniac Records. He released his sophomore EP in July of 2018. The lead single “Fire” has gone on to be a hit in the festival and club scene while raking up millions of plays online.   Dr. Fresch started off 2019 with the launch of his new record label, which released a debut compilation featuring over ten artists. This was followed up by his G-House collaboration EP with Bijou and an official remix for Rico Nasty.   2020’s big shift has led to a focus on music. At the top of the year Dr. Fresch released a 21 track compilation album, “The Remedy Volume 2,” featuring 23 other prominent house artists. Jacob Henry on the "Virtual Sessions" presented by The DJ Sessions 3/30/23   About Jacob Henry -   Jacob Henry, who was born in Philadelphia and currently resides in Los Angeles, is the Lead A&R of Monstercat Silk, formerly known as Silk Music (2008-2021). In February 2021, Vancouver and Los Angeles-based label Monstercat officially announced its acquisition of Silk Music and formation of the Monstercat Silk brand, under Jacob's direction. Dr Fresch on the On Locations Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions at Decadence 12/31/22   About Dr Fresch - In 2013 after winning Insomniac’s Discovery Project Contest, Tony Fresch launched the Dr. Fresch brand. His debut self-titled EP and innovative hip-hop/rap remixes quickly exploded in the blogosphere. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Fresch was subsequently featured at #9 on Billboard Magazine’s “Next Big Sound” Chart. His music weaves together elements of house, hip-hop/rap, and midtempo to create a unique, forward-thinking sound. Over the summer of 2015, Dr. Fresch launched his semi-monthly mix series “House Call” which has since garnered tens of millions of plays. Each installment features a 30 minute Dr. Fresch mix followed by a 30 minute guest mix and is featured on Sirius XM on Mondays. Moon Beats on the On Locations Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions at Decadence 12/30/22   About Moon Boots - Moon Boots and Pete Dougherty are technically the same person, but in many ways, the two couldn’t be more different. The former is a globe-trotting extrovert whose genre-hopping (but always funky) DJ sets reliably fill dancefloors around the world. The latter is a relatively shy dude with a studio tan who has been geeking out on synths since he was a teenager. Born in Brooklyn, Pete spent his adolescence in the suburbs. Early formative musical memories include MFSB’s “Love Is The Message” at block parties and years jamming to Daft Punk in the barn with a blacklight on. Pete moved to Chicago after college. The city transformed Pete and after a few years playing in the band Hey Champ, Moon Boots was born with series of releases for French Express. Quickly leveling up his craft, Pete signed with Anjunadeep and moved back to Brooklyn. The first Moon Boots album, First Landing, arrived in 2017, and was followed two years later by Bimini Road. Emphasizing melody while blending elements of house, disco, soul and R&B, both records were widely embraced – with over 100 million streams – and as they picked up steam, so did Moon Boots’ DJ schedule. Over the years, the versatile selector has found himself playing everywhere from dimly lit clubs to massive festivals, but regardless of where the DJ booth is located, his objective remains the same: to keep people dancing, preferably with a giant smile on their face. Moon Boots’ third album is now in the can, and will surface on Anjunadeep next year, as is a revamped Moon Boots live show, one in which Dougherty will showcase his musical chops while touring and performing with a full band. Alex Whalen on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 12/07/22 About Alex Whalen - Alex Whalen's dance music story starts all the way back on New Year’s Eve in 1991, when a flyer led to a map point that led to a legendary Catastrophic rave in Washington, D.C. A love of the music and culture he found there quickly morphed into a budding career as a much sought-after downtempo DJ, eventually landing him a gig at Supersting alongside the likes of Sasha, Laurent Garnier, LTJ Bukem, BT, Scott Henry, and Carl Cox.  As Alex’s notoriety grew, he expanded his musical arsenal to include progressive house, techno, and trance, eventually attracting the attention of the Deep Dish boys back home in D.C. After tagging him to head their the Yoshitoshi Shop and Yoshitoshi.com  his reach went global, with gigs across the Americas and Europe. Not long after, he formed a close musical partnership with Dave Ralph, creating a duo that held down a monthly residency at Buzzlife in DC, produced several records for R-Factor Recordings, and launched a world tour in support of both.  After moving to San Francisco in the summer of 2002, he joined the Thump Radio crew in producing a series of syndicated radio shows, headlined regularly for both Spundae and Release, helped launch a new house music venue for Blowfish Music & Sushi, and launched a series of successful weekly and monthly nights across California, including Arrival Industries with DJ Kramer and Nicholas Baker.  But when his musical partner Dave Ralph called from Boston’s legendary Avalon with a new opportunity, it was time to head back East, and for the next decade he shared the bill with all the biggest names in dance music. At the same time, and in what is likely a first for a DJ with his track record, he completed a PhD in Political Science at Boston University, all while launching and hosting the Good People Better Rise Up! podcast, a series now 250+ episodes and more than 15 years in the making.  When COVID hit, Alex necessarily put his travelling schedule on hold, turning his attention to building a new production studio deep in the mountains of Colorado. PHDJE Studios sits dead center in the highest town in North America, just a few miles down the road from the Molly Mines of Climax Colorado, a combination that undoubtedly make him the highest DJ in North America. Along with several of his mates, he’s formed the Bootycorn Sound System, a DJing and production collective determined to bring the fun and the funk to post-lockdown dancefloors worldwide. Alex recently joined forces with Pro B Tech Management.
