We were also joined by Boxing South Africa CEO Tsholo Lejaka to clarify the issue of two tournaments being cancelled and one reinstated within hours. Tonight we opened the show with an update on former Springbok hooker Naka' Drotske’s health. He was shot three times during a robbery at his house last week. His brother Tinus Droske joined us. We also looked at South Africa hosting the 2019 AFCON, following the approach by CAF to step in as host, replacing Cameroon. We were joined by SAFA CEO Russell Paul, Sports Editor at Gana Soccer net Nuhu Adams and Independent Economist Ndumiso Hadebe.
We opened the show with an update from SAPS Captain Kay Makhubela on the disturbing story that surfaced today of former Springbok hooker Naka Drotske who was shot three times on Thursday night. Business of Sport feature: We looked at the Business Of Sport & tonight we talked about the historical factors of pay disparities between Banyana Banyana & their male counterparts. Director of Nielson Sports in Africa & the MiddleEast Kelvin Watt joined us. Also joining the conversation was Sasol SA brand Specialist Brenda Mopeli, Njabulo Ngidi, Norway players' Association President Joachim Walltin and Solly Moeng.
We continued with our Boxing Wednesday theme and started by previewing Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury match with Jan Bergman and Nathan Colins. We also discussed the challenges faced by boxing promoters and managers. Former SA and Commonwealth super middleweight champion Andre Thysse who is now a boxing promoter joined us in studio to discuss the issues they are faced with because the Boxing SA Act and regulations has been under scrutiny when it comes to sanctioning of tournaments and purse monies. Also joining the discussion was boxing promoter Andile Sidinile.
We spoke to SAFA President Danny Jordaan ahead of Banyana Banyana’s semi-final clash against Mali in the Women’s AFCON. WE ALSO POKE TO SABC Sport Commentator and former Banyana player Gloria Brown before we crossed live to Ghana where SABC NEWS Sport Reporter Lebohang Dube was covering the game for us. We also caught up with former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala who now play his football for Turkish club Erzurumspor. Nicholas Dlamini was our guest on our “Careers in Sport” feature who is taking the Cycling world by storm.
We looked at the Soweto Derby and Springboks loss away to Wales with Amakhosi legend Doctor Khumalo and Springboks veteran Bakkies Botha. We then shifted our focus to Hockey and the lack of transformation in the sport. Players: Phumelela Mbande, Nicky Veto, Shane Johnson and Owen Mvimbi joined us. Also joining the conversation was SA Hockey CEO Marisa Langeni.

An interdict restricting residents of Bo Kaap from obstructing the route or interfering with the transportation of the mobile crane to and from the construction site at 40 Lion Street. We were joined by PSL’s head of communications Luxolo September, Sowetan Sports Editor Nkareng Matshe and Marketing, Communications Manager at Durban Tourism Sbu Zondi. SABC Sport Reporter Lethabo Kganyago also joined us to help us look at the other TKO semi-final between Bidvest Wits and Baroka FC.
