Jack has discovered Steins;Gate via visual novel, while Shay & Djm make comparisons with the anime, and how much we all love saying the main character’s name with his mannerisms. There’s a 90s nostalgia grip, thanks to Sega & Nintendo, and old man Djm is nearly in tears thanks to his ol’ blue buddy, Sonic the Hedgehog. Later, Jack gives his take one One Piece being 65 percent complete…which leads to Shay triggering Djm’s rage. Today on APOSS, Djm is joined by his brother-in-podcasting-arms, Colton Solem! The gents talk about the biggest anime properties of them all to start off with and point out how the Silver Age is real and the quest to give the filthy casual a gateway into the wonderful anime world is ever stronger. One Punch Man is coming to Toonami, Dragon Ball Super’s manga is easily accessible thanks to Viz (along with many others for free), and Bleach is finally ending. Colton tells us just how long some of his favorite shows have been a part of his life, while Djm struggles with coming to grips with old age. And yes, Virginia. On this episode, David Majors has made an observation that no one seems to be talking about. Why hasn’t Funimation said anything about Dragon Ball Super? Is it just us? Is Toei having a hissy fit? Ain’t this a license to print money for everybody? This leads Jack & Djm to lament over the fading opportunities for new and original IPs and material, even in Japan! Because now, we have Sadako vs. Kayako, starring the two characters from The Grudge & The Ring (or Ringu, you pedantic sons-a….please subscribe!). There is no money in being new and creative. There is all of the money in making what has already been successful again. Jack introduces a Vita game that is also on the PS4! Bet you we got your attention now, huh? Yes. Jack tells us about Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir. Later, the leaders of the APOSSE introduce each other to two more shows. Djm’s curiosity about Mr. Osumatsu prompts Jack to give a rundown, while the Deej throws My Hero Academia back at Jack. A milestone in podcasting. 100 episodes. The two nerdy black guys have been shooting the shit with one another and a few others for long enough to officially produce and release 100 episodes. On this occasion, we decided to invite a couple of guests on. One that has known us from the podcast’s inception, Swaggy P, Patrick Swagger. Djm personally invited him on to get an insight into his beliefs behind why he contributes to various creators through patreon.
