We are now into May and the Yankees are in last place with the least productive offense in MLB. Topics include: Yankees RISP struggles and poor fundamentals, Brett Gardner’s hot streak, Aaron Hicks’ record-breaking throw from LF and struggles at the plate, Chase Headley’s numbers, potential roster moves due to ARod’s oblique injury, Nick Swisher hitting in AAA, Michael Pineda’s ineffectiveness, and Jacoby Ellsbury giving the team some life by stealing home. BP Show 70: Neil Solondz, the pre and post-game radio announcer for the Tampa Rays, joins the show to preview the weekend series vs Tampa. Topics include: the Rays big series win in Boston, Matt Moore's success vs the Yankees and strong start this season, why Evan Longoria has declined the past few seasons, the affect Joe Maddon had on the franchise when he left in 2014, Kevin Cash being the youngest manager in baseball, and when the Rays will be getting a new stadium.

The Bronx Pinstripes Show Extra! Yankees legend, Andy Pettitte interview by Danielle McCartan of Bronx Pinstripes. On April 13, 2016, hundreds of people lined the sidewalk at a strip mall in North Jersey donning their pinstripes and clutching precious items to be autographed by one of the pillars of the Yankee Dynasty.  In fact, according to Christopher Jones, co-owner of All Star Collectibles in Pompton Plains, the first excited fans started lining up at 5pm to meet Andy Pettitte, scheduled to arrive at 7pm.  He told me: “[Today] brings a star athlete to a community that hasn’t seen many star athletes in a while”.   Actually, according to a representative of Steiner Sports, also in attendance, Pettitte has not made a public autograph appearance in New Jersey since the late 90’s.
