The Bronx Pinstripes Show - @YankeesPodcast   As we approach the trade deadline of August 1st, rumors are swirling around the potential trade of Aroldis Chapman to the Chicago Cubs among other possible suitors.  Andrew and I dive into the prospects that have been mentioned as part of the potential deal with the Cubs and weigh the pros and cons. After a relatively successful home stand, we talk about the Yankees' play and if they've shown enough to actually believe that more winning is on the horizon for the second half, or is this team exactly what we've seen - a .500 team that will continue to ebb and flow. We also go around the league talking about hot topics in MLB, the Hall of Fame inductees, and answer some good mailbag questions at the end of the episode.  Consistently Inconsistent Yankees - The Bronx Pinstripes Show #79 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4531

The Yankees are 34-35 this season. If we have learned anything from those 69 games, it's that the Yankees are consistently inconsistent. It was more of the same this past week which saw the Yanks go 3-3 vs Colorado and Minnesota, two bad teams. The Bronx Pinstripes Show 79 topics: if trading Aroldis Chapman would be considered "selling", what the Yankees could expect to get in return for Chapman and/or Miller, trade rumors surrounding the Cubs' Jorge Soler, Mark Teixeira's rehab and the possibility of Rob Refsnyder being sent back down to Triple-A, Brian McCann busting out of his slump, Carlos Beltran carrying the Yankees lineup, ARod approaching 700 HRs, Nathan Eovaldi's June struggles, and CC Sabathia's amazing season.  A sweep, some tigers, and Old Timers - The Bronx Pinstripes Show #78 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5203

This week on the Bronx Pinstripes Show, we have Neil Keefe subbing in for Andrew while he is on a family vacation.  Neil and I get through last week's games and talk about the key moments on the diamond.  Special attention this week is given to the conundrum at first base with the injuries mounting up, Refsnyder filling in admirably, and now the recent signing of former Met, Ike Davis. While we all know the MLB Draft is pretty much a crap shoot, and that we won't know if these guys will actually workout for a few years, we talk about the first and second round selections by the Yankees.  The interesting part, for me, about these selections was the position choices of outfield and second base that the Yankees drafted.  Seems like it was a "best available player" type decision. Neil is a big believer that the next stretch run for the Yankees against Colorado and Minnesota is one of the bigger sets that the franchise has seen in years and can either make or break the season.  The upcoming games (on paper) are very winnable, and the Yankees need to take advantage of the opportunity to gain momentum in the division. You can find Neil on Twitter (@NeilKeefe) and on his website, keefetothecity.com. Andrew will be returning next week.  Get in your mailbag questions and voicemail this week to be featured on the show! Submit mailbag questions here. Call the voicemail line: 646-480-0342.
