What a first weekend, huh? If the NBA playoffs are gonna be this good every single game from now til the middle of June then the NFL might as well pack up shop and call it a day. The Warriors, surprisingly, look fine. Chris Paul tried his damnedest to blow Game 1. The Wizards probably should've won Game 1, that was a big time misstep on their behalf. The Celtics needed a little bit of overtime to not lose to Giannis and Khris Middleton but dammit they got it done. The 76ers looked unbeatable, then... not so much. The Cavs? Buddy....

Hey. Hi. Hello. Welcome. Happy first weekend of the NBA playoffs, everybody. Now, we recorded this episode on Wednesday afternoon, so this episode actually has little to do with what happened Saturday, and some would argue even less to do with what's about to happen on Sunday. But don't fret! We talked about Tristan ThompsonGate, tossed around some hypotheticals for the NFL Draft, and called our shots for the Timberwolves getting into the playoffs and Russell Westbrook getting enough rebounds to secure that season long triple double. I assume we talked about other shit sprinkled throughout this but it's hard to say since it was recorded over three days ago. And also, mostly, because I am not very bright.

It's the playoff preview. We preview the playoffs. It's 3 in the morning. We just finished recording these three hours. I'm not gonna be funny in this write up like you're used to me being. Cut me some slack my pals. All of the information you need about this episode is right there in the title. This is an episode of Mickstape during which we preview the playoffs. It's a big time episode.

Like... maybe? No seriously, the Cavs should win the East since they still have that LeBron James guy but the second best team in the East is absolutely the 76ers. No, it's not the Raptors. More like Craptors, imho. Maybe if the Raptors get some luck and draw the 76ers in the second round, but seeing as they're going to have to play the Cavs it looks like curtains for them earlier than they had hoped. But can the 76ers beat the beleaguered Celtics? Sure, why the hell not? The most intriguing Eastern Conference Finals matchup - by far - is the team with Simmons and Embiid vs. LeBron. As for the Western Conference playoffs: all 15 teams are still eligible for the 3 seed. No one will have any idea who is in the playoffs until the Wolves play the Nuggets on the final day of the season. ONLY THEN will we have even the slightest bit of a clue as to whomst is playing.

It's award szn over at Mickstape where we try and figure out First, Second, and Third Team All NBA along with Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, and all the other awards we know and love. We also spend a good 20 minutes on the NFL Draft, what the Giants should do with Odell, what the Patriots will do now that Cooks has been traded, and should anyone be in a rush to take any of these QBs? Also, Coley tries to teach Withers about soccer - a sport neither of which know anything about.

I'm going to be honest with you, it's 3:30 in the morning. We recorded this show 12 hours ago. We talked about a myriad of things. I do not remember all of those things. I remember we talked about why littering is bad like some Captain Planet underlings at some point. We talked about how Shaq may be the most recognizable human being of all time. We mocked the Thunder for trading James Harden and breaking up potentially the greatest young core of all time. We tried to figure out a Kawhi trade. Alright at this point I guess I remember a decent amount of what we talked about. Coley yells at Tyler about Coach Of The Year for like 2 minutes max. And oh yeah, Ben Simmons is still really good.

JK LOL buddy couldn't even figure out how to break a 2-3 zone. We recorded this at 3 in the afternoon yesterday so we didn't talk about Karl-Anthony Towns dropping a Timberwolves record 56 points OR Jaylen Brown hitting a game-winning three with .3 seconds left against one of the hottest teams in the NBA on their own court. But in case you didn't know, both of those things happened. In the real world. Within hours of one another. We're proud of both our baby boys.

Markelle Fultz is BACK! Terry Rozier is the best player in the world! Malik Newman has risen from the ashes and has regained relevance in the NBA Draft! I think we only talked about basketball today? Is that possible? I know we talked about the NFL Draft for a minute, and Tyler reminisces about Drew Stubbs for reasons I can't remember, but yeah. Lotta basketball talk. Nerlens gets his name thrown around for a bit. Boogie gets talked about for a hot second. Tyler throws around some names for coach of the year while Coley becomes increasingly angrier. And, oh yeah, we talk about The Ringer, whom we know are listening to this right now. Sup Bill.

ESPN dropped one of the more horseshit lists in the history of numerical ranking systems and boy are we irate on the web about it. All of the Celtics are dead, the Coach of the Year race is a tight one league wide, Ricky Williams is selling marijuana legally, and we grade which teams tanked the best this season. Then, to end the show, Frank Kaminsky and his childhood chums join to promote their new Barstool podcast Pros and Joes: regaling us with tales of ExtenZe ingestions gone awry, favorite childhood movies, Tournament talk, and a quick Dan Dakich roast session.

Glen Big Baby Davis is allegedly the plug, and he's not afraid to tell you about it from the world's smallest plane next to a briefcase filled with 20s. The first weekend of the Tournament is over and Tyler is truly upset that his Kentucky Wildcats don't have any top seeds in their way to get to the Final Four. It's a real shame. Piggybacking off Wither's tweet about the inside car light being illegal whilst driving, we try and remember other rumors that got spread nationwide before the internet was a thing.

PFT Commenter joined the show to defend his beloved soup. Rone joined the show at some point, I can't remember what he was rambling about, I'm pretty baked right now if we can speak candidly for a moment, but he said some things in English for all to enjoy. Jared Carrabis said he was a smarter human being than LeBron James, which Tyler and I feel to be wildly false. Andrew Wiggins said he's not comfortable being the third option in Minnesota, despite the fact he's not really the third option in Minnesota right now, so weird move by him. And finally, we look through the remainder of the Nuggets schedule to see if they're really going to miss the playoffs after a promising season?

The hardest working man in college basketball @BarstoolReags came through to tell us two bozos exactly what's going to go down during the Tournament, including a solid 20 minute Kentucky conversation because that's what happens when two #BBN alumni get together. But before all that, Withers and The Mick Man break down the Kanye bracket making its way around the web and pontificate about Drake's signature song. Everyone on the Celtics is incredibly injured and Coley is surprisingly not taking it very well at all.

Our favorite holiday is here and, you're never going to believe this, but we found 45 minutes worth of cereal talk that we somehow had never touched on before. Honestly an incredible feat if we can all be honest with each other for a moment. Julius Randle, Lonzo Ball, Josh Jackson, Anthony Davis, Nikola Jokic, and Michael Porter Jr. are all discussed heavily as we try to remember this is a basketball podcast before diving into ranking Kanye albums for reasons which remain unclear.

Over the weekend, many people became enraged on the web at Tyler for saying Karl-Anthony Towns is better than Joel Embiid, so that is heavily discussed at the top of the ol' show here. Devin Booker became the third faster player in NBA history to hit 4,000 points - what is his game going to look like in five years? Many people forget Anthony Davis is only a year older than Joel Embiid, people don't like talking about it but it's true. Whom of LeBron, Durant and Giannis is going to make the ALL NBA First Team? There's only two spots for that designation, yanno, and one of those fine gentleman is going to be SOL. Oh yeah, J.R. Smith pelted Damon Jones with a bowl of soup. In the real world. That's a thing that happened. Absolutely tremendous.

Tyler and Coley continue on their search for the perfect playoff system. It isn't perfect yet but it's going to be, believe you me, friend. We also lay out potential plans to eliminate belts, talk a little Timberwolves post-Jimmy Buckets, and Coley ends the episode by fixing...pizza?
