These questions are answered while many more are posed, in this New Year's edition of "Libertarians in Living Rooms Drinking Liquor!"  Happy New Year's, Lions! To suppor the show, join the Lions of Liberty Pride.

 FF 104 - Crazy California Laws in 2018 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:54:29

On today's episode of Felony Friday host John Odermatt is joined by fellow Lion of Liberty, host of our flagship Monday program, Marc Clair. John and Marc kick things off by first looking back to update a case covered way back on Episode 55 of Felony Friday titled "A Rumor Sent a Teenage Girl to Prison for a Brutal Murder in Vegas," which was an interview with the Intercept's Jordan Smith. The first link below details the story, but the podcast is a must listen if you haven't heard it yet.  Next, John and Marc spent some time sorting through the mess of horrible laws that hit the books in the 2018. Laws impacting everything from "ban the box" to parental leave to buying ammo. Lastly, John and Marc wrap things up by playing "Is it a Crime and Should they do Time?"   You can find the show notes page >here< Check out the Felony Friday archive for all previous articles and podcasts.    Also, for more Lions of Liberty content check out the Podcast archive!  Submit any qu estions, comments, suggestions, or ideas to felonyfriday@lionsofliberty.com. This show is not my soapbox, it is a vehicle to communicate and amplify the injustices rampant in the criminal justice system.  FF 103 - Libertarian Principles Helped a Drug Dealer Turn his Life Around | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:52:29

On today's episode of Felony Friday, host John Odermatt is joined by Colin Kreiger. Colin is a member of the Lions of Liberty Pride (you can join here), but that's not the reason why he's on the show. The reason Colin was asked to share his story on Felony Friday is because he serves as a remarkable example for others that it's never too late to turn your life around. In fact, Colin credits the ideas of liberty for being a main catalyst in providing the blueprint and the motivation to turn his life around.  Colin has made some mistakes in his life and paid dearly for them. He was kicked out of his University's criminology program for getting caught with less than a gram of weed. Later, he was kicked out of college altogether for fighting and resisting arrest. Over the course of the next few years Colin sold and used drugs, until his life spiraled out of control, which culminated in an incident with police where gunfire was exchanged and he's very lucky to have not been killed. Ultimately, Colin served two years nine months in a level 4 max security prison.  ELL 51: FISA Section 702 Will Never Die, and Congress Doesn’t Keep Harassment Records | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:51:14

On this week's Electric Libertyland... Host Brian McWilliams talks Roy Moore's Alabama defeat, the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and the Congressional Office of Compliance's apparent lack of any records about sexual harassment settlements. Brian then discusses Section 702 of FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act), which allows the NSA & FBI to spy on Americans' electronic communications. Section 702 was scheduled to expire/sunset on Dec 31st, 2017. However, the likelihood of that happening is slim, and Brian explains why and how it will likely live on. On the bright side, however, the Pentagon is finally getting audited! Show notes at Lions of Liberty @BrianMcWilliams @LionsofLiberty

 326. “Reason and Liberty” with Shayne Wissler | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:51:00

On today's show, Marc welcomes back a guest who first appeared in the early days of the podcast, Shayne Wissler! Shayne is the author of two books about individual rights - "For Individual Rights" and "Reason and Liberty: The Foundations of Civilization", which was just released in it's 3rd edition. Shayne describes how his questioning of his Mormom upbringing eventually led him to question everything and delve deeper into philosophical justifications for individual rights, resulting in his two books on the subject. Shayne and Marc discuss concepts such as induction, the "is/ought gap", meaning, and so much more on this philosophical journey into the root concepts behind his justification for the concepts of individual rights.  For show notes, head over to LionsOfLiberty.com/326 For a FREE copy of "Reason and Liberty", join the Lions of Liberty Pride!

FF 102 - Felon Convicted of Attempted Murder Petitions Gov Kasich for Pardon | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:47:08

On today's episode of Felony Friday Aaron David Seidel joins host John Odermatt to share why he's fighting for Ohio Governor John Kasich to grant him a full pardon. In August of 2004 Aaron, at 18 years old, was convicted of one count of attempted murder, for the shooting of his then step-father. Aaron was sentenced to five years in prison, and was released in 2009. The five-year sentence was a reflection of the mitigating circumstances which lead to the shooting. Since the commission of his crime, Aaron has committed to a life of self-actualization through the service of others. While still in prison, Aaron passed his GED exam and attended college at Marion Technical Center in business management. Aaron is currently finishing his undergraduate degree in both environmental geoscience, and applied mathematics. He has ambitions to go to graduate school or join the military. However, the walls that society builds around those with a criminal record is holding Aaron back from reaching his full potential. This is why Aaron is petitioning Ohio Governor John Kasich for a full pardon. Aaron has aspirations to get his PhD., he wants to be the best man he can be for his family and maximize his contributions to the world.  ELL 50: Is Trump Creating The Real Libertarian Moment? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:31:18

In this week's #ElectricLibertyland, Brian McWilliams takes a look at whether Donald Trump has inadvertently inspired the TRUE "Libertarian Moment" that so many have said passed us by after the run of Ron Paul and the failure of Rand Paul and Gary Johnson in 2016. While it may not be the epic 50th episode so many have been looking forward to, it's damn thought provoking. **Episode was pre-recorded several days before airing out of necessity, so excuse any news updates regarding gropings, pokings, firings, etc., that may have broken** Show notes at Lions of Liberty @BrianMcWilliams @LionsofLiberty

Dr. Little found herself the subject of an investigation by the IRS and Medicaid Fraud Unit, which began in 2010. She was indicted in 2013 on 38 counts of healthcare fraud and money laundering. Dr. Little was essentially legally forced to plead guilty to the original indictment for 38 counts of fraud and money laundering. In the end the guilty plea ended in a sentence of 33 month of incarceration in a Federal Prison Camp which began on October 14, 2013. On September 8, 2015 Dr. Little was released to a halfway house in San Francisco. Read Cassandra's blog The Felonious PhD, which she wrote before, during and after her time in prison.  You can find the show notes page >here< Check out the Felony Friday archive for all previous articles and podcasts.
