In this important episode of the Lions of Liberty Podcast, host Marc Clair is joined by John Whitehead, founder and President of the Rutherford Institute, a non-profit civil liberties organization dedicated to the protection of constitutional and human rights. They discuss how the United States has been rapidly turning into a police state, both through the passage of draconian laws like the Patriot Act and the NDAA as well as new technologies which make it easy for the government to spy on all Americans - or more accurately, on the whole world. They discuss the important distinction between true capitalism and "crony capitalism", and how corporations like Goldman Sachs, General Electric, and Monsanto use government to their benefit. We then examine how the Federal Reserve system serves to enable crony capitalism, and why the Fed being the largest holder of U.S. debt is so dangerous.
