Regardless of whether or not you like Bernie Sanders (which of course you do) you should be concerned about voter disenfranchisement. In this episode, Katie and Kathleen talk to Johnathan Clarke, the lawyer who filed a lawsuit against the Board of Election for the way they switched voter's registration for the New York Primary (http://bit.ly/20VcJCc). This episode is not about open vs. closed primaries, which is a legislative decision. This episode is about a different type of disenfranchisement: one that can be challenged in the courts.  

Babes for Bernie Kathleen and Katie are joined by voting rights activist Yvonne Gougelet to discuss what exactly happened at the New York Primary. Why were so many voters purged, especially in Brooklyn? Why did polls in upstate New York open at noon? How many voters filled out affidavits? They are also joined a poll worker who witnessed it all first hand.

We talk to Jonathan Clarke, an attorney who filed the law suit against New York Board of Elections over voter purges about what the hell happened, what he hopes to achieve and if it could effect the presidential race. We ask Hillary Clinton to apologize for the remarks of one of her surrogate (we think this may be a recurring segment, unfortunately)and talk about why Jonathan may be the Irish-American Bernie Sanders (my words, not his.) Gabe offers a list of women role models. And finally, Oscar-nominated director Josh Fox (Gasland)talks to us live from outside of the IFC movie theater where his latest film “How to Let Go of the World and Love All the Things Climate Can't Change."

On this episode we talk to writer, professor, and thinker Freddie DeBoer about identity politics, political organizing and which Gummy Bear character Ted Cruz resembles. Then we talk to Leslie Lee, the Black writer and fan of Japanese wrestling, who created the #BernieMadeMeWhite hashtag and Jacob Bridge, a veteran and a conscientious objector, about what makes a Bernie Bro a Bernie Bro.

Rapper and Bernie Sanders endorser Killer Mike made a terrible mistake on Tuesday night when he quoted “a woman” who used the word “uterus,” during a speech at Morehouse College in Atlanta. Twitter and several media outlets blasted Michael Render, AKA Killer Mike, for sexism. Interestingly, most of them didn’t bother to explain what he was really saying or who the woman he had cited was: feminist, anti-racist educator and activist Jane Elliott.
