She received critical acclaim for "I Love You Madly"....and now she is working on her highly anticipated full length album set to be released in 2018. Shortly after their time performing in Luis Valdez's Zoot Suit run at the Mark Taper Forum, Melinna Bobadilla and Rocio Lopez, two dope actresses, stopped by Tamarindo to discuss Latinx representation in media, how the themes in Zoot Suit still apply, and their experiences in entertainment. Melinna is a chicanx actor, educator, and voice over artist and activist. Melinna recently starred in the digital series #Gentefied, exec produced & starring America Ferrera, that premiered at Sundance 2017. Rocio is a Mexican American actress and singer/songwriter who recently appeared on HBO's #Insecure and launched a performing arts company, KidzLA. These #wokebaes share some insight on telenovela voice overs and some of the stereotype roles they run across being two brown actors in LA. We even have some #quesoychisme. This was a ton of fun!
