Episode Seventy-five - Tina Carver and the Satellite of Love and Support | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 01:24:01

Are you a fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000? Are you struggling and need someone to listen? Tina Carver tells us about her closed Facebook page, The Satellite of Love and Support (SOLAS). SOLAS is a support group for MSTies, run by MSTies, offering community support with addiction, anxiety, mental illness, eating disorders, health issues/chronic illness in a judgement-free zone. The podcast gang also discusses the end of the MST3K Watch Out For Snakes Tour and the latest Rifftrax Live/FATHOM event, “The Five Doctors.” Kate ponders that male howler monkeys with deeper, louder yells develop smaller testicles. Ryan feels nothing but seething rage faces for Greg dragging him to see “The Emoji Movie”, quite possibly the worst flick the gang has ever seen, even though Greg heart eyes/winky face/poop/ghost/fried shrimp/eggplants the feature. In the Mini Soda Review, Kate, Ryan and Greg all marvel at the unusual heat and full flavor of MacFuddy’s, “The Distinctively Strong Pepper Elixir.” In A Very Adamant Stance, the gang hops on the TARDIS and travels to Raxacoricofallapatorius to turn a Sonic Screwdriver on Whovians, one of the oldest TV fandoms in the world. All this, and a chipper troll doll who turns Ryan’s jaundiced worldview around with a hug and a song, on this week’s episode of the Revival League Podcast! (This podcast does not represent Alternaversal, Shout Factory or the Kickstarter campaign in any official capacity). EDITOR’S NOTE: In June 2019, this podcast merged with the Damn Dirty Geeks Podcast and became The Damn Dirty Drive-in. These are our classic back catalog episodes, dating back to March 2016. Ooh, yeah! Get ready for some top rope splashes and cradle suplexes, that limousine ridin’, jet flyin’, kiss stealin’, wheelin' dealin,' son of a gun Zach Thompson dropped by the Revival League Studio to talk all things pro wrestling! Zach, who plays Bonehead #2 (Ricky) in the new season of “Mystery Science Theater 3000,” is a wrestling announcer in his hometown of Chicago. (And he’s not even the only wrestling announcer involved in MST3K!) Zach talks about his behind-the-scenes experiences on the Watch Out For Snakes Tour. And lifelong wrestling fans James and Zach chokeslam the Hulk Hogan cheesefest flick, “No Holds Barred.” Meanwhile, Babyface Greg curb stomps a giant snail invasion infesting Florida, and everyone admires the forearm smashes and head butt drops of “Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling,” Netflix’s new series. In the Mini-Soda Review, Greg serves up some stone cold Rowdy Roddy Piper All Out of Bubblegum Soda, and the gang praises “They Live!” Somewhere in there, Zach and Greg take a Very Adamant Stance against the silly names given to fandoms, and butcher the theme song to “Cheers.” All this, and Lou Albano getting whacked repeatedly by Cyndi Lauper’s Loaded Purse of Doom, on this week’s episode of the Revival League Podcast! (This podcast does not represent Alternaversal, Shout Factory or the Kickstarter campaign in any official capacity).  Episode Seventy-three - Movie Candy with the Mads | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 01:03:48

The Candy Man Can! The comedians of the “Movie Sign With The Mads” Podcast (Frank Conniff, Trace Beaulieu, and Carolina Hidalgo) flew to Denver and dropped by the Revival League Studio to eat and critique movie candies! The Revival League Podcast gang (Greg, Ryan and James) foist on their guests classic sweet treats like Lemonheads, Cracker Jacks, SweeTarts, Whoppers, Raisinets, Black Crows, and SnoCaps, all washed down with an excellent artisan soda, Pig Iron Cola. Trace waxes nostalgic about pelting people with candy; Frank enthuses over RC Cola; Carolina remembers her favorite movie treats growing up in Mexico. Greg talks about how the full meals at the Alamo Drafthouse have spoiled his expectations of a theater food experience. Ryan still obsesses over the zither theme to “The Third Man”, while James imparts a wealth of trivia about the sweet treats cinema goers eat while watching the latest blockbuster. All this and a very happy gang of Cavity Creeps who will NOT be deterred by Crest Gel from making holes in teeth (especially with all this candy lying around), on this week’s episode of The Revival League Podcast! (This podcast does not represent Alternaversal, Shout Factory or the Kickstarter campaign in any official capacity). Hey hey, it’s the head writer for the “Late Show With Stephen Colbert” – Opus Moreschi! Opus discusses his work on the new season of MST3K, as well as being named for a cartoon penguin. Ryan and Erik from sister podcast “Junkmouth” drop by Greg’s apartment for a special recording session of the show (it’s not as creepy as it sounds). The Colorado-based podcast gang celebrates the Denver stop of the “MST3K Watch Out for Snakes Live Tour,” while Greg geeks out to getting a shout-out from none other than Joel Hodgson himself. Everyone lambastes the zither theme from classic film noir thriller, “The Third Man,” while Ryan seems a tad confused over the plot of “Spiderman: Homecoming.” Greg finally delivers on his homemade vanilla gelato, and makes the gang Sioux City Birch Beer floats. Plus, James and Ron tackle a double feature: "Progress Island" and "Assignment: Venezuela." All this, and a dark and gritty reboot of “New Zoo Review” that reimagines Henrietta Hippo and Charlie the Owl as avenging vigilantes, on this episode of the Revival League Podcast! (This podcast does not represent Alternaversal, Shout Factory or the Kickstarter campaign in any official capacity). Plus, it's hot in the podcast studio, the gang discusses how they spent their holidays, and Kate talks about cats from hell. Meanwhile, James and Ron tackle "Eegah" in honor of the ongoing MST3K "Watch Out For Snakes" live tour. Plus, Greg pines for someone named Debbie, and Zach proves that the most patriotic person on earth is the Ultimate Warrior. All this and a sketchy, three-fingered fireworks salesman, on this episode of the Revival League Podcast! It’s the Pride Special! In the not-too-distant future, several members of the MST3K Pride Group on Facebook drop by to celebrate being MSTies and proud members of the LGBTQ+ community (turns out, they’re not too different from you or me). Ryan emcees as Natalie, Nat and Hayley discuss shocking subject matters such as salt cod and poutine, amateur rocketry and movie riffing. Meanwhile, Greg asks a wide range of generally clueless, straight cis-gender questions, that the gang good-naturedly answers. The podcast gang celebrates the “Wonder Woman” movie, as well as Thomas Kemper Black Cherry Soda, one of the best damn sodas the gang has ever quaffed (even as everyone puzzles over Thomas Kemper’s weirdly sexual ad copy, “a big, round mouthful of cherry flavor”). Then it’s a Very Adamant Stance against summer sweatiness, and a review of the classic MST3K episode, “Daddy-O.” All this, and an animatronic Pizza Rat that gains sentience and triggers the Synchronicity inside its pizza emporium, on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast! The Gang visits Shout! Factory World Headquarters in Los Angeles, sitting down with President and Co-founder Garson Foos. In case you’ve been living under a rock, Shout! is the home video and music company helping Joel Hodgson bring back “Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return.” Meanwhile, Kate yearns for a Jo Co Cruise with Jonathan Coulton, and celebrates Bill Nye’s new science show. Ryan and Greg dissect “The Running Man,” a perfectly decent Stephen King novella butchered into one of the lesser action flicks of Arnold Schwarzenegger. And everyone tries to figure out who decided to let Guy Ritchie direct “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Then it’s time to talk shop and drink Earp’s Sarsaparilla with Garson. Kate and Greg take A Very Adamant Stance against Ryan’s sanity, and indulge in one penguin callback too many. In Reviewers in the MST, James and Ron don some plaid and knock over some cardboard boxes while contemplating “Future War.” All this plus Tony the Tiger quietly yearning to mix it up a little with some healthy flax seed granola and goji berries, on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast! This week’s interview is Harold Buchholz, president of Alternaversal (Joel Hodgson’s new production company), as well as executive producer of “MST3K: The Return.” Harold reminisces about the Kickstarter campaign and making of season 11, and hints at the show’s future. Kate talks about the alt rock nerd band, Ludo, yowling house kitties’ midnight serenades, as well as how Cretaceous triceratops may have consumed that key ingredient in beer, the hops plant. Then the gang jumps feet-first into the murky waters of the incomprehensible Thai flick, “Crocodile Fury.” (A movie so bad, Ryan feigns illness to get out of watching the last thirty minutes). And Greg frolics with the snow leopards and chiru, while reviewing Disney Nature’s “Born in China.” Everyone samples Fitz’s Cardinal Cream (St. Louis’s version of Big Red), and finds their thirst sadly unrequited. In the first installment of “Children’s Movies That Scar Us For Life,” Ryan and Kate shudder at the nightmarish cartoons of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” And in Reviewers in the MST, James and Ron don some plaid and knock over some cardboard boxes while contemplating “Future War,”All this (plus Bonnie Tyler’s ill-thought out “B side” follow up on her album, Faster Than The Speed of Night, “Total Eclipse of the Pancreas”), on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast! The podcast gang goes toe to toe with the jovial Zach Thompson, who plays Bonehead #2, the short and skeletal henchman in “MST3K: The Return.” Much to Ryan’s delight, Zach suggests that fans of Greg Tally should call themselves “Tallywhackers.” Meanwhile, Kate justifiably explains why female dragonflies fake their own deaths to avoid annoying males. And Ryan rails against the Christopher Reeve/Richard Pryor cinematic debacle, “Superman III,” while Greg can’t stop seeing the latest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 2.” A freezing accident and shattered bottleneck nearly leave Ryan sucking down glass shards rather than Orca Beverage Company’s Mr. Cola. And Kate and Ryan dry heave when Greg reveals his undying love for that bonneted beauty on the tiny raisin box, the Sun Maid. In Reviewers in the MSTie, James and Ron go spelunking into the movie depths with “Cave Dwellers.” All this and an agoraphobic Domino’s Pizza Noid who is frankly grateful for all the avoiding, on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast!
