Downer show this week. Our father died this week from complications of heart failure at the age of 78. It was not surprising, but still awful.  This show is just a short tribute to him and probably some kind of therapy for me. We will be back next week with our normal show. Was that a “good ” title? No. Probably not. But I am selflessly doing the edits again. It’s a hard life pulling your own weight. Nar is on a little vacay and I’m being a noble big brother. We did! You did it. High-fives all around. What an amazing achievement of returning to something. This week was a ton of news, not least of which was the return to the 40 meter distance requirement to interact with stops and gyms. For the first time in a long time, it was a slow news week in Pokemon GO. We had a few events cooking (Eevee Community Day and Ultra Unlock Part 2), but overall it was a quite week. The ordering and theming might be strange, but sure enough, we are getting Ultra Unlock Part 3 focused on the Pokemon from the Galar region. They went and did it anyway. Niantic changed Pokestop distance back to 40 meters (down from 80) in the United States in New Zeland today as part of a test. Are they testing to see if they can come up with terrible ideas? If so, success. Go Fest is gone, but the Ultra Unlock Dino Adventure through time is here and we are loving it. Shiny chase; check. PVP Pokemon; check. Raids on point; check. What more could use ask for in an event? We did it! We caught, Raided, forgot to eat, barely slept, and now we are ready to talk Go Fest 2021. This is just our immediate reactions and opinions to the thing that was. Some positive, some negative, and so very strange guests return at the top of the show.

Some big changes are coming (returning?) to Pokemon GO. Niantic kicked off a bit of a storm when they announced the planned removal of some changes made for the Pandemic era. However, they also announced they would be testing some new bonuses as well. We breakdown the impact of these changes and if Niantic might be willing to reverse course.
