The Rob and Joe Show

A complaint from Rob about toll fees turns into a conversation about bridge suicides. The excitement in the air surrounding the debut of "It's Mickey" is palpable. Rob and Joe once again pose the "everyone else cheats the system so why can't we" argument to Robby. After playing to a nearly all-black audience in Toledo, Rob seems pretty clear on what stereotypes are tolerated in one's stage material. Rob gets a hostile unfriending on Facebook and Joe is unsure about how that works. Rob shames Joe for not taking a gig. Joe accepts a job of running a comedy competition for the good of the show. Joe relays an anonymous friend's very embarrassing story which leads to some sharing of early sex experiences. An article extolling the virtues of dating a comic gets demolished line-by-line. Joe turns 45 and finally joins Facebook. Robby receives yet another 'slap in the face' when his birthday is completely ignored. Rob watches from the sidelines while the controversy surrounding a well-known friend's birthday gift gets heated. Rob encounters a bathroom attendant at the party's location, and the value of this antiquated occupation is discussed. Rob and his girlfriend join the Robinson's, and many others, for a lively Thanksgiving. When Rob books an appearance alongside a comic with whom he did his very first show, he and Joe reminisce about their early gigs. When a man makes a subtle sexual advance toward Rob at a show, Joe reveals his secret grooming habits that could be perceived as gay. Rob is struck by a sound bite from a respected comedian. Rob and Joe vow to return the show to its former, less vulgar tone. The show gets some good promotion when its discussed for nearly and hour on another podcast, but the one person not there for the interview is virtually ignored. Rob wrangles an invitation to the Robinson Thanksgiving celebration, but has some trepidation when he's informed of the traditions surrounding this annual family gathering. Comedian and fellow podcaster J-L Cauvin discusses a new project, movies and everyone's favorite comedy club slugger. Both the term and the choice for 'Sexiest Man Alive' get debated. Rob has a painful accident in the kitchen right before show time. While the internet is abuzz with one comics possible veiled threats toward another, Rob tries to mend fences with the aggressor while still at the center of the escalating war between the two men. When Rob realizes who's won the Comedy Central Up Next competition, his bitterness is intensified. Joe watches the local comedienne's sex video and is confused by some of the choices. Joe's coworker reveals a strange alone-time habit. Dating a much younger women has its pitfalls, and Joe reveals some of them. Joe reviews a comedian friends new show on TBS. Rob finds himself literally in the middle of a war of words between two comedians who were also both also part of the recent Comedy Central talent search. The show gets a colossal break when its embraced by a top fellow podcaster. Rob and Joe attend an event where this landmark announcement is first made and the flowing liquor makes for an interesting evening. Joe hears that a former colleague may still hold a grudge. Robby attends show-regular Michael Chamberlin's local wedding reception and Rob and Joe feel slighted. Recent criticisms about some local performers seem to only endear Rob and Joe to them. An unusual Valentine's Day present is mentioned when Rob goes into the crowd during a show. Rob and Joe debate the devices purpose and merits as a gift. When Joe gets replaced on sold-out shows previously booked with "Mr. Cooper", he goes to see Rob perform instead. Rob attempts some risky racial material. Joe's coworker may have found love. Rob and Joe debate over a local comic's foray into adult films. Given their time together, Robby learns a startling fact about his girlfriend through a casual remark he overhears. A friend of Joe's has an very unusual method of getting alone-time with his wife. Rob's feelings about the Comedy Central competition are reinforced by another comedian on his podcast. Rob is the emcee for a real train-wreck of a show. Announcer Tim antagonizes people and irritates Joe. Robby answers Rob's recent comments regarding the show opening in the usual overzealous manner. Rob is performing with the man who beat Joe out of a big-time radio gig and Joe reminds us why this was the correct decision by the station. Rob and Joe meet a woman at a show who appears to 'get around'. Joe gives an update regarding his coworkers successes and/or struggles dating women he meets online. Rob comes to realize that the Comedy Central show in Boston was really more of an audition than a competition. Meanwhile Joe is asked to judge comedy locally at a show that is also not much of a competition. A long-anticipated (and tension-filled) meeting takes place when Joe discovers the identity of a fellow judge. Rob and Joe will be directly competing for audience over the weekend performing simultaneously at rival comedy clubs. Gramps torments Rob on Facebook. Rob is still trying to make a case for changing the show theme song. Rob and Joe strategize about how to handle the impending controversial guest. The infamous Romeo Rose, whose looking-for-love website and inflammatory statements have gained him national attention, talks to Rob and Joe and is even more outrageous than expected. Rob sees an unusually large number of first-timers at his open mic show and admonishes one man's attire on stage as a message to all newcomers. Rob pries into Joe's personal life by asking about his experiences with the new (and much-discussed) canopy bed. Joe is initially reluctant, but then goes into some detail about his failures and provocative steps to resolve those issues. Robby gets a much-deserved vacation from the show duties because Rob heads to Boston the following Monday for the Comedy Central competition. Aired Monday, October 14th at 7:30PM

Rob proposes changing the show's opening music again and gets no support. Our favorite 52-year-old appears on The Tony Kornheiser Show and looks foolish as usual. Joe luckily avoids a gig in Baltimore where a double stabbing takes place. Rob has challenging back to back shows. A reporter taps Rob to be part of an article based on his tweets about his furloughed girlfriend. Joe angers a friend while playing poker in Miami. Joe casually drops another bomb regarding changes in his personal while describing a drug-hazed return flight. The guinea pig for the online dating profile challenge gives some final feedback about the experience. When Rob comments that he would never want sex every night, Joe is in disbelief. Robby's girlfriend joins him for a second trip to the Apple Butter Festival, and he hires cat-sitter for the weekend. Rob and Joe discuss the following week's controversial show guest. When the corporate clown's temper gets him in hot water, he receives a lot of well-deserved attention from the media. Rob and Joe highlight some of the bad press and new gossip surrounding the 52-year-old professional tourist. Rob is uncharacteristically nervous about performing in the next round the Comedy Central competition. A winner is officially named in the online dating contest during which a potential real match for the subject ceased all communications when Robby's profile entry was posted. Rob scoffs at the conventional wisdom that a good chef should be overweight. A finished version of Rob's long-awaited reality show pilot is available on Youtube. At this show's premiere, Robby gets into a heated discussion with one of the cast members. Joe had hoped for a more confident feeling after his triumphant return to the Improv stage. A legendary radio performer does a bit identical to one originally done on the show more than a year earlier. The show receives some surprising publicity. Joe reads some of the responses to his profile entry in Match.com contest. Joe gets a follow-up quiz about his personal life. Rob is almost up to speed so that he might enjoy the huge television series finale event along with everyone else. Show announcer Tim revels in his contrarianism. Rob returns to discover that a whole episode had to be scrapped in his absence. Joe must apply the same effort as a comedy newcomer would to get back on the Improv stage. Rob flies off the handle when Robby demonstrates how he may have mislead the listeners. Rob has to remind Joe about an important anniversary. It seems that Joe may have formulated the perfect strategy to win the match.com contest. Joe grills Michael Chamberlin about his reasons for keeping his wedding a secret from Robby. Rob talks about his two big events during his week away; another overseas tour for the troops and the first round of the Comedy Central competition. Aired Live Monday, September 16th at 7:00PM

The death of Tommy Morrison recalls Rob's well-documented brush with the boxer. The Wendi Townsend roast was an undeniable success. Joe and Robby's father (aka Gramps) charms the ladies at the show. Robby declares whose set was funnier to resolve the bet between Rob and Joe. Rob meets yet another comedian with a nonsensical stage name. Gramps appears on local public radio to reminisce about his involvement in an historical event. Some listeners feel entitled to an update on Rob's much-discussed TV project. Robby gets some good news on his recent health ordeal. Rob prepares for his return to the Middle East as Joe gets ready to move to his new place. Rob and Joe prepare for both the impending roast of a much-discussed comedienne and the competition to create the best online dating profile for Joe's unlucky colleague. He then joins the show to get quizzed about his troubled dating life and to discuss his conditions for the contest. As Joe approaches his first time ever living alone, he yearns for a roommate. He also made his promised bed purchase. Research is done on the benefits of various mattresses for his activities. Aired Monday, August 26th at 7:30PM

The warning from Rob's girlfriend last week has struck a chord with the listeners. This sparks a debate over engagement ring shopping. Rob believes he would be a good wedding planner. The show intern candidate has a change of heart. Joe has big plans for the new bachelor pad. Rob and Joe get the order the comics will perform at the upcoming roast. Rob suspects ulterior motives in the recent Russell Simmons controversy. Joe wonders if dying the gray in his beard is a wise move.
