God may be speaking to us, telling us to do something, but we’re not hearing it because we’re expecting an extravagant manifestation of His voice. This message reminds us to listen for His soft whisper and obey what He's telling us to do.
Our true and eternal identity isn't found in ourselves, but in Christ. When we choose to follow Him, we accept the call to die daily to ourselves and live as He directs us to live. We'll never truly know WHO we are, until we accept and embrace WHOSE we are!
We're made the way we are for a reason, and part of that reason, is having a conscience to help us realize when we're violating those God-created boundaries that harmfully affect our relationship with Him and with others.
The Bible tells us that when we abide in God, He not only lives in us, but also lives through us, producing spiritual fruit. We can do nothing to bring Him glory apart from Him! We must remain in Him, so that He can prune us to produce more fruit.
You've most likely heard the phrase, "I may not know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future." Nothing takes God by surprise. No matter what happens, He's always in ultimate control, and is worthy of our complete trust!
Because Jonah resisted the instructions God gave him, many other people were affected by his disobedience. In the same way, when we disobey God (as well as when we obey Him), other people are affected as a result. Whatever God's calling us to do, we need to stop ignoring Him and do the right thing!
When Christians work together in unity, so much more is accomplished than if everyone worked alone. Even the devil can't stop what's being accomplished when the Body of Christ is working together!
Just like the rooster crowing when Peter denied knowing Jesus, the devil uses reminders in our life of our sins and wrong choices. But God's offered us forgiveness, and to not hold our sins against us because of the blood of Jesus! That's worth rejoicing about, drowning out the roosters!
There's a story in Nehemiah where God’s people came together to rebuild a city, astonishing everyone that it was completed in 52 days! God wants His Church to work together, so that what's accomplished point directly to Him, and no one's alone in the process.
We could very well "will" something to happen in our life. But if it's not in God's will, sooner or later, it'll crumble. So we must spend time seeking His will through prayer, Bible study, and wise counsel.
The saying holds very true: "People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." Sometimes others need to be shown God's love before they're told about God's love. Authentic love can squash the hate!
Are things impossible for God just because we think they're impossible? We don’t need to figure out how He's gonna to come through for us, but rather it’s our job to simply obey what He tells us to do. Then whatever happens, happens for His reasons, not ours!
One of the worst witnesses a believer can have, is laziness, especially in the workplace. Don't give in to the temptation to not develop your gifts and skills, and simply coast, since God is your REAL BOSS!
Once we become a Christian, it's as if we have a "new-birth mark", that can be like a bullseye to the devil. He'll come after us with temptations aimed at our weak spots. But the Bible says that if we submit to God and resist the devil, he MUST flee from us!
Sometimes, even the closest Christ followers get into situations, and for whatever reason, give up. But please remember, someone's always watching us, to see if we're faithful in denying ourselves and proclaiming Christ and His strength!
