Jesus came so that we could live life to the fullest. God has a plan for each one of us, but it's only when we get up and move - accepting His plan and living for Him - that we actually experience this full life that He promised.
In many ways, dads are called to be examples of the Heavenly Father to their children. A dad's a type of "middle man" to teach his child to lean on God. Jesus is also the Middle Man for us, and it's through Him that we can have God as our Heavenly Father.
Oftentimes the difficulties we face are symptoms of the root issue of sin in our life. We should ask others to help us deal with those issues by using the tools that God gives us through Scripture.
We're all born inflicted with the poison of sin, and the only way to get healing is to look on Jesus and be saved. He went to the cross so that all who believe will be saved. Then the Good News must be shared by the saved with others, so they too may find life and be saved!
Most people learn best when we can see and hear someone else, then do the same things ourself. Jesus tells us that we need to make disciples, and so by doing that, we're teaching those same people to do the same thing!
It's easier to believe whatever we hear instead of looking for truth ourself. God's looking for people who seek out the Scripture and have a foundation set on Him, so that nothing that comes their way will toss and sway them from what they know to be true. Let us be that kind of person!
When Jesus died on the cross He made it possible for us to have freedom to choose God as our master. We'll either be a slave to Him or a slave to sin, the choice is ours.
Jesus has set us free from the prison of sin! So now it's time to to walk out of sin, diminishing every fear that comes up, and live in the liberty that He's given us. When we're truly living in freedom, we can help others to live in freedom as well!
The Church is designed to have shepherds who lead and protect the flock. When we plug in to a church and submit to its Godly authority, we grow into those leadership and protection roles that are necessary in the spiritual battles that we face.
God's designed the Church to be full of people who can comfort each other during the tough and troubled times that WILL come in life. times. He can work in us and through us, so that His goals are accomplished in spite of difficult situations.
God made a covenant with His chosen people, Israel. That covenant was then shared with all the gentiles through Christ. This means that believers become God’s children forever, and He promises to take care of us just as He took care of Israel and continues to do so!
"Who do I know who's chasing the same sin that I am, and how has that worked out for them in the long run?" Just making that observation can keep us from stepping off the path that God intends for us to stay on, allowing His light to shine for us, in us, and through us, to attract others to Him!
When we realize and accept the truth that God loves us without condition, we can then love Him and begin to love ourselves. When we love God and ourselves, we can begin to love others, sharing the truth that He loves them as well!
Instead of questioning God's ability to do something in us and through us, we need to make ourselves available for His work. He's going to back us up, it's going to be okay, even if the worst thing happens, if He allows it, we still have to trust Him, because He said so!
If we have an ex-spouse who we’ve not forgiven, the bitterness we can carry around will haunt us for the rest of our life. God says that we're supposed to be a vessel of love and forgiveness. When we forgive those who've hurt us, we can let go and move on.
