Jesus gave His life, His all, everything He had, just so that we could be saved. But do we give Him the same in return? We're called to be a living sacrifice for God's glory and yield our lives entirely to His will -- so are we giving "all we've got", or are we holding back?
When it comes to the "ABC"s of our spiritual life, baptism is the "A"! Scripture teaches us that once we've been saved through Christ's sacrifice on the cross, our next step is to be baptized. But it's more than just a ritual or a process -- it's a declaration of obedience and commitment to our new life in Him!

When you're looking for a place to live, one of the best offers you can find is for it be "furnished, all bills paid". God offers to do exactly that for us -- to "furnish" our lives by providing for all of our needs, and to pay the price we owe for the debt of our sin through His Son, Jesus. All we have to do to take God up on His offer is trust Him -- but that means releasing our hold on control and surrendering our lives to Him.

Obeying God and letting Him take over our lives isn't always a walk in the park. But it's better to live in obedience to Him -- even if it involves suffering -- than to live for ourselves and our own temporary pleasures, which will inevitably bring more suffering. In the end, God rewards our obedience with a fullness of joy that we won't find anywhere else!

It's easy to wish that God would perform miracles the way we want Him to. But how often do we remember the miracle of our own salvation? God does work in miraculous ways that sometimes leave us all shook up, but we tend to overlook the greatest miracle He ever performed when he brought us from spiritual death to eternal life!

The Bible describes God's church as the body of Christ: Jesus is the head, which makes all of us the body parts! And because we're one body, we need to stay connected, both to each other and to the head. When we do, there's no limit to what God can do through us as He works to reach a lost and hurting world.

Prayer should be a key part of our everyday lives, and it's critical to seeking the Lord and His power. But God calls us to do more than pray at times -- He calls us to fast. If we find ourselves "hitting a wall" when it comes to seeking answers, changes, or miracles, we should try taking a lap in "the fast lane" and then watch God's mighty hand at work in our lives.

Most of the time, we think of disobedience in a negative way...but when it comes to being part of God's family, did you know it's actually a positive thing?! Like many parents, God requires obedience from His children -- and when they disobey, He disciplines them. If we're living in disobedience and experiencing the consequences of our actions, that's a reminder that we're members of God's family, and that He loves us enough to discipline us.
