If someone were to place a laptop and a pad of paper and a pen in front of you, which would you reach for to take notes? For most of us nowadays, that’s a no-brainer since it’s often quicker to type than it is to write. This week, I look at the dying art of handwriting, and consider some fascinating benefits that we may lose forever if we just switch to typing. Then, a cool, mathematical solution to a common, real-life problem, and a Let’s Get Physical segment that deals with positive body image and tackling those inner demons that might be telling you that you’re too fat to be photographed.Show notes: http://thehappyroadahead.com/episode-59-level-up-your-life/

There’s an old biker saying, that you’ll never find a motorcycle parked in front of a psychiatrist’s office. And wouldn’t you know it, there might actually be a lot more truth to that than you think. Find out why on this week’s program. Happy Road explores how certain activities can have many of the same beneficial effects as sitting on a cushion and chanting “Om!” In fact, there was so much to talk about, that this episode had to be split in half, with the remaining portion airing on Episode 57, where we look at some of the neuroscience behind meditation, but also some really cool apps to help you in your meditative practice. I was going to write up a show description, but I think I’ll just do it tomorrow. Or not. This week’s main topic is procrastination. What causes it? How do we overcome it? Happy Road examines a bit of both the psychology and neuroscience. Also, a related piece about being busy, and finally, a health and wellness segment that’s meant for the Baby Boomers. Tune in this week and get your weekly dose of inspiration with The Happy Road Ahead.Show notes: http://thehappyroadahead.com/episode-54-meh-ill-do-it-tomorrow/
