June 9th: The Power of Life & Inspiration Rev. Darlene Strickland presented a riveting talk about how air represents the power of life and inspiration metaphysically. Air is represented by life and experienced in the body as the breath. Where the breath goes the life goes.
June 2nd Pastoral Intern James Buchanan talked about how everything in life is all about the light. Using the metaphor of a camera lens, James articulated our need to open our apertures and slow our shutter speeds, in our own lives, to allow greater amounts of light to shine in.
May 26: Rev. Sky St. John discussed the Hawaiian concept of Kūkuni i ka ‘ili o ka ipo ahi or burning the skin of the lovers, which Sky interpreted as the power to turn our wounds into scars. By showing our scars we realize our personal power in the difficult times of our lives.
May 19: Margie Hyatt, LUT & Rev. Sky St. John lead us on an inspiring journey into Grace & Gratitude: Spiritual Game Changers, how simple tools yield profound results in our lives.
May 12: In this moving and heart-felt presentation, Jo-Ann Adams offers a tribute to motherhood in the broadest sense: for all those who have created us, sustained us, developed us and released us.
May 5: Reverend Sky introduced us to the history of Cinco de Mayo. We learned that it was originally a celebration of freedom from tyranny. We looked at ways to achieve freedom in our personal lives.
April 28: I’m on a crazy current, gone on my wandering way. Using this Hawaiian proverb as a springboard, Rev. Sky explored some of the deeper meanings in Jesus’ story of the prodigal son.
Sunday, April 21: Rev Sky and Margie Hyatt, LUT, helped us see how there are two ways to learn, the easy way and the hard way.
April 14 Chanting is an ancient practice from most every religion and spiritual path. What makes chanting so powerful is that it connects our mind, our physical bodies, and our souls.

March 31 The taro may die but lives on in the young plants that it produces. The Taro plant is a staple crop steeped in Hawaiian history, culture and myth. Rev Sky taught us how the Taro plant is the perfect symbol for the deeper meaning of Easter.
March 24 On this Sunday, there was a special service to honor the ordination of Rev. Mindy Tucker as well as honoring the minister in each of us.
