Octajo octave mandolin banjo tuned GDAE.
I'm thrilled to have been asked to do the rollout of an innovative instrument that opens a new world of mando-banjo potential. The Octajo is a double-course tenor banjo tuned an octave (or lower) below mandolin and violin. With a 12” banjo rim with bronze tone ring and an octave mandolin neck the Octajo can be strung with either metal or nylon strings. The one on this recording is set up with nylon. Hope you enjoy. Acker Bilk & The Paramount Jazz Band, recorded this back in 1963. This is in support of a forum topic posted by sethb, some months ago, for the chord changes to Climax Rag. At that time I didn't have this recording, but thanks to the wonder of the internet, here it is, and it's hot!. Don. This is another fine track off this album. Hope you enjoy.
