Joanna has done work on wage discrimination, Title IX compliance and also in women’s leadership. Zoe George returns to launch a re-vamped show for fans of women’s sport in New Zealand - it's all about Fair Play which covers the news as well as the issues around women’s sport. Joining her again as guest co-presenter is White Ferns player Sophie Devine. Their guests are Sarah Beaman, the woman behind the study into women’s cricket for NZC and they ask what’s been done as a result of the study and whether women are any closer to being treated equally. White Ferns Coach Haidee Tiffen chats about the team’s upcoming tour to the UAE to face Pakistan and shares her thoughts on the state of the women’s game and the impact of this year’s World Cup. And Dr. Sarah Beable stops by to talk about menstruation and contraception - what’s best for our bodies as an athlete and can periods actually help performance?  Fair Play is a co-production of Radio New Zealand and WiSP Sports. Elizabeth Emery talks to British Cyclocross racer Helen Wyman and bike advocate Liz Cornish. Helen is 9 times National Cyclocross Champion, two-time European Champion, and a World Championship medalist. She is also a superstar in women’s cyclocross advocacy. Many of the positive changes over the past few years — pay equality, race length, tv coverage — is due to her work as part of the UCI Cyclocross commission. Elizabeth caught up with her in Iowa where she was training in the heat between the first two World Cups of the season – Jinglecross World Cup in Iowa City and Trek Waterloo World Cup in Waterloo, Wisconsin. Piggy French has been a popular figure in British eventing since her Junior and Young Rider days when she was a member of the European team gold medal in 2001. She also claimed the individual silver at the 2009 Europeans riding Some Day Soon and a year later rode Jakata at the World Equestrian Games where the pair finished 14th. The partnership went on to finish 9th at the 2011 European where Piggy also won her first senior team medal taking the bronze. After a break to start a family Piggy is back on the British team competing at this year's European Championships with Quarrycrest Echo and a week later finishing second at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials with Vanir Kamira. U.S. show jumper Alexa Pessoa is adjusting to a new routine as the mother of two children and the wife of rider and Chef d’equipe of the Irish team, Rodrigo Pessoa. With six years between their daughters Sophia and Luciana Alexa is finding the balance between being there for her daughters and making time for her riding career. For her the time spent in the stables is dedicated to the horses and training and it’s important not to be distracted by the demands of being a mother. Kate Richardson-Walsh, OBE, has recently retired from international hockey as the most capped player for England with 375 appearances. During the span of her career, during which she captained England and Great Britain for 13 years, she has seen many changes to the team and its leadership. Germany’s Ingrid Klimke was finally crowned the European Eventing Champion in Strzegom— a title she has long been waiting for since she already had the silver and bronze to add to her three team gold medals at these championships. In addition she has accumulated four team gold medals from Olympic and World Games in a career spanning five Olympic Games and including numerous other titles.
