For me, this is the season of Lent...kinda of an important part of the year: a time of self reflection where I’ve learned something (or rather, accepted a truth) about myself that I didn’t know before. Today’s a huge day in the Roman Catholic Church, we have a new Pope: Francis the first, and to celebrate I’m going to read a great email I received from a fellow runner, cool person and rational atheist. Shane asked me to comment on the way that Churches tend to slow down the progress made in society to make the world a better place. I think I answered his question?

I’m talking about religion in this one. I’m a Roman Catholic; not perfect...kind of a mess, but my CORE beliefs are grounded in good things. What’s going on in Rome right now is a big deal. It does not matter if you are a Catholic, but we’re all hoping for a leader who will help make the world a better place. Pray with me.

I’m heading home after a long weekend in New York City, searching for a Heart of Gold.

I’ve been working long hours and I’m looking forward to a night with friends, food, wine and song. The love of my life, Lynn is meeting me on Long Island and while I’m feeling pretty beat up, I’ve got a glass of Rioja waiting for me.

I’m back in New York City, rushing again to catch my train after a looooong day at work. Yeah, sure...I’m rambling a bit, and sure...sure, the audio in this one is breaking up a bit, but it’s all good (and I made my train on time!).
