 SNS Sticks & Flicks 09-15-14 now archived | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:50:35

SNS Sticks & Flicks returns with a new episode and this week Ashley Richardson is joined by Mindwipe from the Elie Force Podcast to talk all things gaming, film and entertainment related. The video gaming news actually opens with tech news this time as they cover the major announcements from Apple’s reveal from last week, but then transitions into gaming news, including Capcom suing Koei Tecmo over 50 games, GTAV gets next gen & PC release dates, good and bad news regarding details of Resident Evil Revelations 2, Sony’s dominance on the console front in the US and Microsft’s less than dominant launch in Japan, a whole bunch of games get confirmed or delayed release dates and Super Smash has launched in Japan and the secrets are being revealed. The movie & entertainment discussion starts with respects paid to the family and friends of Richard Kiel, most famously recognised as Jaws from the James Bond Franchise. The news includes two major movies in the works for Morgan Freeman, Paul Greengrass may be directing another fact-based movie, a rumor suggests that Robert Downey Jr may be in the Assassin’s Creed movie, 23 Jump Street may actually be happening, Karl Urban hints at what a new Dread movie may be about and Downton Abbey may be meeting Danny Ocean at the end of the year. Ashley then briefly reviews three movies, a international movie, The Keeper Of Lost Causes, a drama-thriller in Before I Go To Sleep and fun for (hopefully) all the family with The Boxtrolls. The final part sees the guys doing a full review on James Rofle’s first full-length feature film, inspired by his character, The Angry Video Game Nerd Movie, which after having its premiere and limited theatrical run across theaters in North America, was released digitally on Vimeo a few weeks back. With both guys being fans of James’s previous work, you can expect them both to like it, but what the movie actually provides is less of a ‘Nerd’ video and more of a ‘love letter’ to his cinema influences and to his fans.

 Get In The Zone 09-14-2014 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:47:00

This week on Get In The Zone, BronxZilla was once again joined by cohost AnthonyFarley as they broke down all things TNA and Smackdown. Anthony started by recapping this past week’s Impact, which saw Lashley and Roode get in each others faces for their upcoming title match. The tag team tournament continued with a good tables match, and Gail Kim has seemingly started a feud with new TNA arrival Havok. After the break and before Smackdown, Anthony talked about how he is currently watching all the episodes of WCW Nitro available on the WWE Network for an undisclosed price. This prompted Bronx and Farley to talk some old school WCW, before Bronx recapped Smackdown, a show which was VERY Raw heavy. We saw the debut of Dolph Ziggler’s stunt double, R-Ziggler, and the continuation of the continuation of the Jericho/Orton storyline. We also saw most of Raw recapped, which Bronx voiced his displeasure over. After this Bronx ran down a little news, including a sad story about legendary manager and commentator Bobby Heenan breaking his hip. This lead to Bronx and Anthony talking about some of their favorite Brain moments. Bronx read some funny news stories on “Tell Me He Did Not Just Say That.” The show ended with Bronx ranting on how it seems the organizations are not blamed when professional athletes mess up, but when a wrestler gets in trouble, the whole wrestling industry as a whole is blamed. Check out the archive right here on the SNS Radio Network, and thanks as always for listening!

 SNS Sticks & Flicks 09-09-14 now archived | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:09:37

A new episode of SNS Sticks & Flicks with Ashley Richardson is here for you on the SNS Radio Network. Ashley is joined by Bronxzilla to talk some of the major gaming news of the past few weeks including a new 3DS model that hides dark times ahead, the Super Smash roster gets leaked and updated, FREE games through this months PS+ and Xbox Games With Gold promotions, the whole #GamerGate issues that have happened over recent months & years and Pokemon will be, as long wanted by some, making it’s way into the arcade fighting genre. The second segment sees Bronxzilla stay (or did he just arrive as well?) to give his thoughts of the mobile and tablet game, WWE Supercard, which was released by 2K about a month ago. Despite this having come out to little of no fanfare, Bronx & Ash talk about the structure and game play of the deck building game, point out some of the flaws and drawbacks that could have made the game even better and how this game seems to be bucking the trend of not only being free to download and play, but how monetization seems to be available but not encouraged and the lack of advertising, pushing you to other products & services, something most other major games seem to love doing. The final part has Ashley running through the movie and entertainment news, with a mention of Joan Rivers’s death, Sherlock & Breaking Bad being some of the big winners at this year’s Emmy awards, the Tick TV series could be resurrected thanks to Amazon, The Greatest American Hero looks to be getting a modern reboot for TV, Dwayne Johnson is officially Black Adam in the upcoming Shazam film, a Frozen short film looks set to be revealed in the spring of 2015 and much more. Finally, there’s a few reviews of theatre shows, with the RSC’s ‘The Two Gentlemen Of Verona’ and the harrowing ‘Medea’ from the National Theatre, and also a movie with little nods to great horror and thriller films of the past, with Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens taking the titular role as ‘The Guest’. Give your thoughts on anything movie, TV or video game related by emailing sticks@snsradionetwork.com or by reaching Ash on Twitter (@AshIsMyNameUK or @SNS_Sticks)
