Mary’s reaction when told she was going to give birth to the Messiah, even while yet a virgin, is one of the most beautiful examples of faith in the Scriptures. As we examine Mary’s incredible response in Luke 1:26-44 we see how her willingness to obey God, despite great risk to herself, opened the door for us to be saved by grace though faith in her son Jesus Christ.

However, as we pause to reflect on Luke 2:1-14, we see the deeper meanings hidden in the circumstances of His birth, which bring us salvation, a glorious eternal future and a marvelous light to this dark world.
