Another Bass Chakra Thearpy session from DJ Playaduster -- this time an intermediate level mix for those who have already absorbed the teachings found within the first introductory BCT session. Vocals woven in to this session include soundstick recordings from the Halloween/Spiderball experience in San Francisco, the Get Found reunion at the Samish Island Zendo and the night Team Love danced all night in puddles to DJs on the top of the old Rainier Brewery in Seattle. This episode, in other words, tracks the post-playa adventures of our furry, fuzzy family up and down the Pacific Coast in the waning months of 2009. Soundtrack by Lux, Nosaj Thing, An-ten-ae, Tipper, Lotus Drops, Vibesquad, ill.gates, Mihkal and Eskmo. Stay tuned for the Bass Chakra Therapy Advanced Level mix coming soon as the Wobble Chronicles mutate, morph and evolve in harmonious complexity right in front of your very earholes. Bassnectar Heyoka ill.Gates Beats Antique Welder Mimosa An-ten-ae edIT Timnokey Nosaj Thing Vibesquad This mix is an overview of the electronic sounds I am currently filling my head with, including several DJs I learned about for the first time at Burning Man 2009. Heavy San Francisco emphasis here, as that is where my favorite grooves are coming from these days. Special guests include Maketa, Scotty G. and Suga Cubed, recorded both in Black Rock City and on the road to home post-Burn, decompressing and reorienting from the Best Burn Ever. xo, DJ Playaduster www.destinationburningman.com
Random Rab : Synchromystic
Now that I've got all of the BM video shorts completed and posted, it is time to launch a video project with a broader scope -- I humbly offer up "EVOLUTION: Burning Man 2009" for your streaming and downloading pleasure. At just under a half-hour in length, this video seeks to celebrate Black Rock City in all of its ephemeral glory as well as commemorate the once-in-a-lifetime quickening of people that came together organically to form Camp Get Found at 3:30 & Lineage. This production utilized the photos and videos of many friends, as well as borrowed footage from Ben Wiggins, Mr. Nightshade and John Chavez. The soundtrack features Random Rab, Welder, ill.Gates, Ezekiel Honig, Nosaj Thing and Shpongle. Moontroll has spun out one last video shorts from photos and videos gathered on the playa at Burning Man 2009 by himself and co-conspirator Edubious. This last episde is a team favorite as it captures a very spontaneous and random performance by a marching band who came by at the right place at the right time and created a space for all of us to move out of our temple burn hypnosis. BM09 video short #6 : Drumming at the Temple
A scene from the last night at Burning Man 2009 -- Sunday after the Temple Burn at the Hookahdome, where Thievery Corporation spun a surprise set and everybody got the last of their ya-yas out. Another Burning Man video short from Moontroll. More Burning Man videos from 2009 & beyond at http://vimeo.com/album/53765.
BM09 video short #4 : Abraxas Sunrise
As I was walking around aimlessly waiting for what seemed like an eternity for the Raygun Gothic Spaceship to "launch" on Thursday night, I was in awe of the collected energy and sound and lights. Everybody and their monkey had gathered in a giant circle around the spaceship, so it was not unlike Burn night, typically the only night of the week when everyone in Black Rock City are together and focused on a common something. It always makes for an intense scene when all of that madness and mayhem is concentrated like that. Anyway, I took out my beat-up playa camera and started recording video, capturing 1/100th of what I saw in the melee as I wandered around. I think the idea came to me when I heard the Spearhead remix coming out of a giant art car and I wanted to record it for my Spearhead-loving friend Edub (who was somewhere else in the chaos that night.) Desert Dreamers : An Indo-African Alchemy Dub Experience
With dBMcast #107, DJ Playaduster has woven a sonic tapestry designed to induce dream states and facilitate astral projections. With rumbling bass as our Earthly grounding, we float past nebuli, vortexes and voyaging spacecraft on the wings of violin, percussion, guitar, trumpet and more. If you listen closely, you'll hear Moontroll & Orbit encountering the Temple for the first time at Burning Man 2010. Have a look around. Smell the colors. Feel the low-end textures massage the tender places in your Bass Chakra. Taste the salty stardust. Relax. Let go….There are no sharp edges or rough transitions here, so you can close your eyes, lay back and take the ride with full trust in the interstellar navigational skills of DJ Playaduster.
