Follow Me - 24: Many of us live pretty powerless and shriveled lives, settling for mediocrity rather than the fullness and abundance offered to us by Jesus. This is at least in part due to our shriveled view of Jesus. In this message we explore a proper view of the person and work of Jesus and a Christian life characterized by power which comes from the dynamic work of the Holy Spirit.

Follow Me - 23: Jesus doesn't sugar-coat following him. He says it is about denying yourself, picking up your cross and following him with everything we are. Remember - you follow a guy who was crucified. Put your cup on and get in the game! Be willing to take a nasty email for the sake of someone's eternal life! The only way to live this way is to accept the fact that in Christ you are already dead.

Follow Me - 22: Is Jesus just your Saviour but not your Lord? Not every view of Jesus is true, even if it's flattering. Everybody has a version of Jesus, but most are a reductionist view which falls short. Jesus clears up who he is and that his identity and his work must include suffering, death and his subsequent resurrection while addressing how we follow him in the real world.

Follow Me - 21: Jesus warns his disciples that if they are not careful they could, over time, turn on him; that there is something in them, fermenting, with the potential to end in disaster. He also shows them that the reason this potential exists is because they don't see Jesus for who he really is. And then he shows them dramatically the solution to all of this.

Follow Me - 20: A weird thing has happened in our culture. Jesus has become cool. Madonna, Pamela Anderson, Justin Timberlake and every person who wins a Grammy claims that Jesus is their "homeboy". But, as this story shows, Jesus is not cool. It is hard to make Jesus palatable to our culture when he does stuff like he does in this story including giving a grown man a wet willy, while grabbing his tongue. Follow Me - 15: Faith is often seen as the opposite to reason and rationale. Biblical faith is not blind, vague or generic. It has a very specific shape and content to it which changes everything about us.
