S1003 Paul is burdened for his kinsmen the Jews. He goes on to say that just being Jews didn't mean they were saved. Just because they had the promises, and covenants - didn't mean they were saved. Salvation lies not simply in the hearing, but in the doing. One MUST confess with your mouth Jesus [as] Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved;

S1009 In the last chapter, the Apostle Paul encouraged the Christians at Rome to be patient with the weaker brother. Chapter fifteen continues with that thought in mind. There are some things that are indisputable, and there are many things that just a mater of preference. On the things of preference, Christians are to show love and patience, especially to the younger believers.

S1010 This teaching concludes our study in the book of Romans. Paul ends with a list of the friends that had remained faithful and that had been such a blessing to him through the years of ministry.

S0996 The word justified means "to be pronounced righteous." Paul makes it very clear in this section of Romans that our righteous is based on faith in Christ alone. He goes on to say that this justification is for all, both the Jew and the Gentile. We have all sinned a fallen short of the glory of God but through the death and resurrection of Jesus we all of an opportunity to stand "justified" before God.

S0997 In chapter 4 Paul takes a look at Abraham – father of the covenant of circumcision, and the one through whom the promises of God were made to the Jewish people. Paul is going to prove that Abraham was saved by grace not by the Law of Moses. He is going to show that the Lord’s promises to Abraham were because of Abraham’s faith in Him – not his faith in the Law.

S0999 In Chapter 6 of Romans Paul begs the question “How can a dead man sin?” And he will spend much of the chapter explaining what he means by being “dead to sin”. When the “old man” (sinful nature) is dead we, like Jesus are then raised to a newness of life! Jesus died because of sin; we should die to sin and live in Christ!

S1007 Chapter 13 is really a continuation of chapter 12, in the sense that the Apostle Paul is still listing “guidelines” for Christian behavior. We see this “theme” continue for the next few chapters, as Paul exhorts the Gentile Christians in Rome to live like “King’s kids.” Of course, the things listed were not just for the Gentile in Rome – they are guidelines for every Christian - in every age.

W0630 Things begin to turn around for Ruth and Naomi and it all begins with a good choice to return to Bethlehem. Ruth chooses to go with Naomi but Orpah chooses to go back to her idols and Moab. Orpah's story ends here, but Ruth's is just beginning.

W0633 Boaz marries Ruth and fulfills his duty as Kindman Redeemer - the Goel. They have a son named Obed who becomes the grandfather of King David and Ruth, the Moabitess has a place in the history of the lineage of Jesus.

S0879 To whom much is given, much is required. Elders are required to be doers of the Word and the apostle Paul gives a list of those things.

S0880 The Lord expects order in His church. Men, women, young people and even employees are supposed to behave in a Godly way. The reason is that we may glorify Jesus and represent Him properly. And the Lord has appointed leadership to help guide and correct us when we having difficulty.
