 Fixing Happiness - Matthew 5:1-12 | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: Unknown

Fixing Happiness - Matthew 5:1-12 - Nate Heitzig, Special Guest Speaker at Calvary Albuquerque. MESSAGE SUMMARY Everyone wants to be happy, but not everyone is happy. We know that the world's idea of happiness is broken, because nothing from the world can satisfy us. But God wants us to have lasting joy. As we look at the passage of Scripture known as the Beatitudes, we discover what true happiness is and Who can fix our happiness.

 Numbers 1 | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: Unknown

Numbers 1, from our study, 04 Numbers - 2013, with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque. MESSAGE SUMMARY The book of Numbers describes the wanderings of the nation of Israel in the wilderness. Because of their disobedience, what could've been an 11-day journey to the Promised Land turned into a 40-year trial. In this study, we see the reason for the book's title: the censuses in chapters 1 and 26. As we examine the list in chapter one, we learn about God's personal and caring nature.

How To Walk In The Dark - 1 Peter 1:13-18 | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: Unknown

How To Walk In The Dark - 1 Peter 1:13-18, from our study, 60 1 & 2 Peter - Rock Solid - 2013, with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque. MESSAGE SUMMARY Holiness is an uncomfortable subject for most believers. We have no problem assigning holiness to God as we sing, “You Are Holy, Oh Lord!” But our minds get muddled when we think of our own holiness because we don’t want to appear holier than thou. So what does it mean to be holy? And how can we live holy lives around unholy people? In short, how can we be “children of light” (Ephesians 5:8) while walking in a dark world?

 A Portrait of Jesus - Luke 4:16-22 | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: Unknown

A Portrait of Jesus - Luke 4:16-22 - Jarrett Petero, Special Guest Speaker at Calvary Albuquerque. MESSAGE SUMMARY Out of all the Old Testament prophecies about Jesus, He chose only one from the prophet Isaiah to share with the people in Nazareth—one that revealed His character. As we study this portrait of Jesus in Luke 4, we also learn about the power that dwelt inside Him: the power of the Holy Spirit, which now dwells in us.

MESSAGE SUMMARY Pastor Skip sat down with Robert Schlipp of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to talk about My Hope America with Billy Graham. The congregation looked to the screens to watch Defining Moments, featuring testimonies from illusionist Jim Munroe, NFL player David Tyree, and singer Lacey Sturm.

 Mark 16:1-20 | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: Unknown

Mark 16:1-20, from our study, 41 Mark - 2013, with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque. MESSAGE SUMMARY The resurrection of Christ is the greatest miracle in all of history; it was central in the apostle's teachings. They wanted everyone to know that Jesus conquered death! As we wrap up our study in Mark, we learn about the evidence for the resurrection. But it's not enough to just have the facts. Our lives are a witness and testimony to the people around us, so we must allow these truths to transform our lives.

 Our Bedrock Salvation - 1 Peter 1:10-12 | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: Unknown

Our Bedrock Salvation - 1 Peter 1:10-12, from our study, 60 1 & 2 Peter - Rock Solid - 2013, with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque. MESSAGE SUMMARY God has always planned on saving you. You were never an afterthought or a last-minute consideration. Not only have you been chosen before time began (1 Peter 1:2), but throughout the ages your salvation has been expected and planned for. The spokesmen of the Old Testament wrote about Jesus’ coming and the new covenant of grace, which you are now a part of. All this makes our salvation more secure than ever, built on the bedrock of His promises.

 Mark 15:22-47 | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: Unknown

Mark 15:22-47, from our study, 41 Mark - 2013, with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque. MESSAGE SUMMARY The early church leaders drew an interesting comparison between the sacrifice of Jesus and the near-sacrifice of Abraham's son, Isaac. We know God stopped Isaac's sacrifice, but He allowed Jesus to die on the cross. He acted as Judge: giving Jesus what we deserved and giving us what Jesus deserved. As we continue this study in Mark 15, we are reminded to keep Christ's sacrifice for us fresh in our memories.

Rock Solid Relationship or Relationship on the Rocks? - 1 Peter 1:8-9 | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: Unknown

Rock Solid Relationship or Relationship on the Rocks? - 1 Peter 1:8-9, from our study, 60 1 & 2 Peter - Rock Solid - 2013, with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque. MESSAGE SUMMARY Why do we insist that having a relationship with God is not the same as being a religious person? How is a relationship with Him even possible, since He is GOD and thus is unique from all other creatures? Today, the answer to that will be made simple as we consider the simplest components of any relationship, including a relationship with God.

 Mark 15:1-32 | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: Unknown

Mark 15:1-32, from our study, 41 Mark - 2013, with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque. MESSAGE SUMMARY Jesus' claims to be God were so offensive to the Jewish leaders that they gave Jesus an unfair trial—even breaking their own rules—so they could have Him killed. As we examine the trials and beatings that led up to the crucifixion, we learn who the real Judge is and see the extent of Christ's love for us.

Why We Hate Trials (And Why We Love Them) - 1 Peter 1:6-7 | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: Unknown

Why We Hate Trials (And Why We Love Them) - 1 Peter 1:6-7, from our study, 60 1 & 2 Peter - Rock Solid - 2013, with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque. MESSAGE SUMMARY If the trials of life could only exist by popular demand, we would have voted them away long ago. People, by and large, hate suffering of any kind. Here in the Western world, we have made it our aim to mitigate against any form of it by a multitude of distractions and experiences. There is even a theology that seeks to say God never wants us to suffer—ever. Let's look at five reasons why we hate (and love) trials, and consider how they can be used to make us better people.

 Mark 14:26-72 | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: Unknown

Mark 14:26-72, from our study, 41 Mark - 2013, with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque. MESSAGE SUMMARY In Mark 14, we see Jesus preparing for His death on the cross, His trial before the Sanhedrin, and Peter's denial. As we study these moments, we understand the need for believers to be engaged in spiritual battle through prayer, Bible study, and being in the Lord's presence. We are also encouraged through Peter's life that even when we fail, God's grace covers us.

Stepping Stones of the New Birth - 1 Peter 1:3-5 | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: Unknown

Stepping Stones of the New Birth - 1 Peter 1:3-5, from our study, 60 1 & 2 Peter - Rock Solid - 2013, with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque. MESSAGE SUMMARY "Born again" wasn't a term invented by the popular press or religious fundamentalists. It was something Jesus told Nicodemus must happen for anyone to enter heaven (see John 3:3). Peter certainly heard that term from Jesus and speaks of it here (as well as in 1 Peter 1:23). It's a term synonymous with being saved and having eternal life. What does this new birth provide? In a word—solidity! Coming to Christ brings hope, inheritance, and power.
