 Open Metalcast Episode #120: Live until 120 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:31

Browsing through Wikipedia for subjects for titles for the show I stumbled upon something I didn't know (isn't that always the case with Wikipedia?) Apparently Moses lived to be 120 years old. So the way to wish someone long life would be "Live until 120" Which is apropos for the 120th episode of our long-running podcast bringing you the finest in Creative Commons metal music (with no end in sight, knock on IKEA desk). This episode brings us the other half of the HELA / LODO split with a track from LODO, as well as tracks from Humanity Defiled, Unholy Quest, Немiга, Grimalkin, Extincion, Soundcrafters, and Sallow. Just remember to listen at respectable volumes so when you turn 120 you can still listen to this great music. Shownotes after the break: * (00:09) field hospital/overt mutiny by humanity defiled from circling the drain (BY-NC-ND) * (02:17) The Dark Queen by Unholy Quest from The Dark Queen (BY-NC-ND) * (07:02) Немiга – Моя Игра by Немiга from Больше Угара EP (BY-SA) * (10:28) LODO – Cristocolmado by HELA / LODO from Split LP (BY-NC-ND) * (15:38) You Don't Get It by GRIMALKIN from s/t (BY-NC-ND) * (18:16) Entropia by EXTINCION from O Martelo da Morte (BY-NC-ND) * (21:23) Chaos by Soundcrafters from Catharsis In Chaos (BY-ND) * (25:39) Ashes Fell To Earth by Sallow from II: Corpses & Ruins (BY-NC) Please support the bands in this show!  Open Metalcast Episode #119: Works of Fire | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 33:10

Tonight was the Windsor–Detroit International Freedom Festival, AKA "The Fireworks". Unfortunately we're also getting some bad weather in this area so they did the fireworks earlier than normal. What does that have to do with this show? Not a damn thing. But what this show does have is nine spectacular songs hidden inside it's encoded bits, including tracks from Ósserp, TEETHING, HOT SKULL, Black Autumn, Rain On Their Parade, Thicket, ROSY FINCH, and B.I.T.E. So if you see flashes before your eyes and hear cracking noises it's probably not the fireworks but the sound of your head banging along with these tracks. And now you know. * (00:10) Heretant enemics by Ósserp from Sang i Sutge LP (BY-ND) * (03:46) We Were Friends by TEETHING from Ralph EP (BY-NC-ND) * (05:12) Loneliness by HOT SKULL from Melancholy Blossoms (BY-NC-ND) * (07:31) 'Tis Roock, 'Tis Enckel Wint by Black Autumn from Black Autumn / Veldes – Split (BY-NC-SA) * (13:02) Old World Blues, New World Hope by Rain On Their Parade from Wonderlights (BY-NC-ND) * (17:05) Murder Machine by Thicket from Tales From The Tomb (BY) * (21:47) Sexkinesia by ROSY FINCH from Witchboro (BY-NC-ND) * (29:15) DIRTY SICK VICE by B.I.T.E from ROCK INTO THE NIGHT (BY-NC-SA) Please support the bands in this show! Buy a T-Shirt, buy an album, head to the shows, or set off fireworks around their trailer. Whatever you can do to help these bands keep making music, please do it!  Open Metalcast Episode #118: 15 Minutes or More of Fame | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:39:06

This week I'll be seeing Rush in concert for their 40th anniversary tour. One of the reasons Rush is one of my favorite bands is they bucked the trends. On the album 2112 they released the now legendary concept track "2112" which clocked in at over 20 minutes. This was despite their label stating they didn't want any more concept songs. Despite this the album is now regarded as a cultural treaure in Canada and the band is still going strong 40 years later. So much for listening to the conventional wisdom. All of the tracks in this episode are over 15 minutes in length as a tribute to all of the bands that buck the trends, ignore conventional wisdom, and play the music they want to play. This episode features tracks from Cementerio, Doodsangst, NUTRITION, Schattenbrandung, Deep Space Destructors, and Psygnosis. So poke a finger in the eye of the collectivist mentality and treat yourself over an hour and a half of the best Creative Commons music the net has to offer. Shownotes after the break: * (01:02) CEMENTERIO – "Consumidos Por Las Probabilidades" + "Y Acabamos En Un Afluente" + "El Cielo os Banaba" by Boue Records from MENTAT / CEMENTERIO (BY-NC-SA) * (19:07) de zekere afgrond by Doodsangst from de zekere afgrond (BY-NC-ND) * (34:15) I by NUTRITION from TERMINUS OCCULTUS (BY) * (50:45) VII by Schattenbrandung from I – Apophänie (BY-NC-SA) * (1:06:36) An Ode To Indifferent Universe by Deep Space Destructors from III (BY-NC-ND) * (1:21:42) Liquid Nebuula by Psygnosis from Anti-Sublime (BY) Please support the bands in this show! We had just introduced Dave to Periscope, so he was a bit flustered. This week was a smorgasbord of variety on the Metal Injection Livecast. There was a little bit of everything. On the return of Beyond The Band, we have Vice President of marketing at Metal Blade Records, Kelli Malella talking about her ascent in the music business from starting out as a publicity assistant and offers great advice to anybody looking to get into the music business, in a musicial or behind the scenes role. We also quickly chat with Aubrey Sitterson of the #StraightShoot and SKALD podcasts quickly about the commentating in wrestling, viking hot dogs and the Psycho, CA stoner/doom metal fest.
