Podcasts:
This show features John Donehower of Pyramid Breweries. We discuss their Weizen beers at length, and the effects of wheat as a base malt in beer. Fun show with good info about different yeasts to use in Wheats as well. Justin is accused of being gay...go figure.
This show features Dan Gordon of the Gordon Biersch Brewing Company. He's really a great guest with the best German brewing background of anyone we've ever met. Actually educated in German Brewing Engineering for five years in Germany. Lots of fun with Beer Jeopardy and even more fun getting all the info. We had to stop and plan another show as we just couldn't fit it all into one!
This one is not to be missed. The Anti-Style Show! Brian Hunt from Moonlight Brewing Company in Santa Rosa, CA. joins The Brewcasters in the studio to discuss his opinions about brewing styles, regional distribution, and lame copies. He stirs the pot...and the listeners respond! Check it out.
As a follow up to our extract show, this one moves up to mini-mash. Jason Petros from Beer Beer and More Beer joins The Brewcasters as they give out tips on mini-mash homebrewing.
This show features the first commercial extract brewer we have had on the show. Pacific Coast Brewing Company from Oakland CA. joins us to tell all about extract brewing and how they have created and maintained a brewpub with it.
Great show featuring Peter Hoey from Bison Brewing in Berkeley CA. He tells us all about how they are able to brew from all certified organic products, and stay in business! Plus, he goes the longest in Stump The Brewer without being stumped..amazing really. The main discussion is the use of Adjuncts in the brew process.
This show is our first official Oktoberfest Show, featuring Morgan from EJ Phair, who brought in his Marzen for discussion, and also talked to us about his recent Gold medal at the 2005 GABF! Oh, and The Brewcasters attempt to sing German drinking songs....not pretty.
This archive features our Lager Show. Experts Jon and Dr. Scott share their knowledge of the whole lager process for you. It also has beer Jeopardy on it. Woohoo!!
This show was a return from our first ever week off, and we had a great return featuring Shaun O'Sullivan of 21st Ammendment Brewing Company and lots of good info about opening a brew pub and brewing specialty brews like their very popular Watermelon Wheat.
This show features renowned Homebrewer Jamil Zainashef's second full appearance on our show, and it's even better than the first. More great information that includes all the best in fermentation tips, from yeast starter's to pitch rates to temperature control. And some good trivia fun too.
This show featured Christian Kazakoff from Triple Rock Brewery in Berkeley CA. We had a great discussion about properly planning and running a brew pub (what comes first, the beer or the food? Duh!) and a little about mash temps too.
The first official "Drunken Show". This show featured Matt from Firestone Walker Brewing Company and the rest of us getting really really drunk. In Matt's defense, we accidentally ambushed him with the drunk show, but still scored some great hop information out of him and tasted (or guzzled I should say) his most excellent Firestone brews. Dr. Scott, gets hammered, Jon gets mouthy, and Justin gets taken down by a CHP officer. What more could you want from a radio show?
This show features master Belgian brewer Vinnie Cilurzo from The Russian River Brewing Company. We discussed all brews Belgian, did several tastings (yummy), and had a great time dragging all the information we could out Vinnie's skull. One of the best brewer's around today...a really informative show. Plus, a little hop info out of Vinnie also as he brews the best IPA currently on this planet - Pliny The Elder.
This show features Colin Kaminski from Downtown Joe's Brewery in Napa California and Chris Graham from B3, who also teaches at the Siebel Institute of Technology. We had a great discussion about accurate gravity readings and the use of refractometers. Plus, Jon was late so we made fun of him the whole show. That was fun.
This show is the first official "Hangover Show"! Justin, upon returning from The Portland Brew Festival, is a complete mess, and Jon and Dr. Scott offer no help either. Also features Arnie from Marin Brewing Company.
