Fun things that happen in a tarot reading | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3557

Today's episode was so much fun! Mandy had a great funny story about a client that had us in stitches. Then Sharon told us an observation that a client made about the Ace of Cups from The Modern Spellcaster's Tarot Deck. We all chimed in with awkward or funny moments from our Tarot past to entertain Iris and prepare her and you for what's in store. Not only did we laugh a lot, but we talked about a great many subjects. Things like what to do when a client tries to "test" your psychic ability or when you have a client you can't seem to read for—and how to fix the problem so they walk out with an AMAZING reading. Also included is an extremely powerful technique for providing exceptional extra value to your readings. We wrapped it up with a game, and some advice from the girls about how to make your tarot learning experience a positive and gainful adventure. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at me@dustywhite.net . And thank you for being here :-)

Fun new tarot exercise! (makes cards EASY to understand) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3861

So we started out today talking about tarot books. Sharon wanted to bring up something important but of course we got sidetracked . . . AND INVENTED A NEW GAME! :-) Or an exercise. It has a kind of lame name: "Interview." We really need to work on that name, but it is an exercise that feels like a game and it is *awesome*!! We hope you will agree. Rather than explain how it works here, just download this and listen along. Apologies in advance to ANYONE who might be offended, as we never pick on anyone (but ourselves). That said, we don't pull punches around here, or give you the usual New Age fluff you will get from other tarot "experts." Life is *hard*! If it wasn't everyone would be rich and happy, and NO ONE would ever need a tarot reading. So we have to teach you how to read in the REAL WORLD, no some fantasy New Agey magical land of unicorns and rainbows. So . . . have a listen and try this game/exercise for yourself. It will help you get past all of the guesswork in the tarot and STOP looking up meanings in the book. When you do that you chop off your intuition and you are reading like a computer (and computers are lousy fortune tellers). DON'T get trapped by the promise of memorization, or formula or keywords. DO THIS INSTEAD. This is a tiny sample of what we teach you how to do in the real tarot academy at https://www.easytarotlessons.com/members Join us for a dollar (and who doesn't have a dollar?)

Why should I buy YOUR tarot book? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2822

So many books! Which one is right? For that matter, why should anyone buy any tarot book? In today's episode, Sharon and I reminisced about the books we started out with and the limitations we had. With the internet at your fingertips now, there are a lot more choices. But how do you choose the book that is right for you? We used this opportunity to give a clear understanding of what makes a good tarot book and how to pick the one that is best suited to your needs, whatever your reading style, whether you like or don't want to add the kabbalah or numerology (or anything else!) to your tarot readings. Reading cards is highly personal. It is a skill that takes time to develop and the wrong book can screw you up for years. The only thing that matters in the end is that you get RESULTS an ACCURACY and DETAIL for your clients. The rest is just window dressing. We did discuss some of the tarot books that are available, but instead of force feeding you what books to buy, I prefer to encourage critical thought processes. I've made up a checklist that will pinpoint what you are looking to learn that will help you narrow down the choices and choose the best book for what YOU need. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at me@dustywhite.net . And as always, thank you for being here! :-)

Random tarot thoughts over coffee and cigarettes | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4001

Sharon and I sat down today and had a great conversation on everything from Aces to Zippo lighters. Seriously! We had a relaxed atmosphere and coffee (yay!), so we talked about a great many topics. We touched on how the cards don't give us answers for our clients to go through life without responsibility. Instead, they give us information that we can use to empower and formulate a plan with your client to take control of their situation. We also answered some email questions for Sam. I do read my emails daily and have a great time helping anyone that has a question! Sam was asking about how to tell when Aces are amplifiers, or when they indicate beginnings or abundance. Then we went on to talk about the best exercise to use in order to weave a story together instead of reading cards as individual stand-alones. Throughout the whole thing, we discussed the value of a good Zippo and Sharon's secret crush on Schneider from "One Day at a Time". We ended with how to hear a private lesson on manifestation. This is a must hear and it is free to anyone who has signed up for the free email lessons! Thank you for being here :-)

Oh boy, I just got a tarot deck! Now what?!! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3719

We've all been there, with our very first tarot deck in our hands and an excitement to start reading. And nothing but a little white book to tell us what to do. Mainly those books just give keywords and descriptions of the card while we stand there scratching our heads going "huh?" Sharon and I pretended to be our sixteen-year-old selves way back in the old days trying to figure this stuff out. Aside from being just plain fun, we talked about ways for the new students to start to know their cards. If you've already been studying, there is still plenty of new information here! We created a new exercise based on exercise 1a where we show you how to get to know the cards by looking at the picture and seeing what is happening and from there deciding what the personality of the card could be. In this exercise, we show you how to understand the many facets of the personality of the cards. This is a great way to begin developing the conversation with your cards when you just have a deck. The skills this exercise builds (if you do it on a regular basis) will serve you well for years to come. Come join us in the fun and feel free to play along when you think we are wrong, or you have other ideas of what these cards can mean. And as always, thank you for being here.

Super fun NEW tarot game! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1229

We thought you might enjoy listening to how a group gets together to study and have fun! Today, Skwirl hosted a group with Annalisa, Natascha, Taura, and Greg to play a game called Tarot Tunes. This game isn't in the books, but it is easy to learn and play along. The gang drew cards and gave them meaning (just like exercise one in the White Book https://www.amazon.com/Easiest-Way-Learn-Tarot-Ever/dp/1419692887/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1487578624&sr=1-1&keywords=the+easiest+way+to+learn+the+tarot+-+ever ) but with a twist! They had to come up with song lyrics to fit the cards. So yes, this podcast has singing! Come join the group as they play this new game together. This is just one example of how fun and educational groups can be. We hope you enjoy it! Check out the website https://easytarotlessons.com/ to learn how to get free email lessons or to find out how to join the academy and meet the people you've been listening to. And as always, if you have any questions about the tarot, email me at me@dustywhite.net. Thanks for being here!

How do you know which spread to cast in a reading? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3328

There are a LOT of spreads to choose from these days. It seems that every 99 cent ebook or website wants you to use the author's "new spread" (usually a three or four card blob). And then there are the old spreads that have been around forever. But what if your client comes in and wants to know about their relationship, or their job, or the future, or how many kids they will have (and so on). Knowing which spread to cast whenever you give a reading (so that you will get the best answers) can be confusing to new students. It is easy to fall into the trap of believing that there is a spread for every occasion and that all you have to do is shuffle and deal out the cards like it says in the book. But that road leads to bland, vague, inaccurate readings (just ask your clients a month later for a tip since you "did such a good job" and see how much they complain about how little your advice helped). A MUCH BETTER way to get around this problem is to have a handful of spreads that you know *really well* and adapt them to meet your current needs. If you have a "how to" spread and an overview spread, and also a good "yes/no" spread or two, something for timing and a choice spread then you are good to go. You don't have to limit the way you phrase your question to what your client says. You need to talk to them anyway and find out what they really want to know, and this allows you to decide the phrasing you want to use. All of this is covered in today's FREE lesson! Please comment if you have any questions, and sign up for our free tarot lessons by email (seriously: 10 weeks of free tarot lessons from one of the top tarot teachers in the world, with no catch). https://easytarotlessons.com/first.html It's that easy. The rest is up to you. You have to practice—a LOT. No one becomes a great tarot reader by reading out of the book or doing one or two spreads a week. Let us help you become awesome. Thanks for being here.

What do my tarot cards mean? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4194

We got a great question from one of the students by e-mail about interpretations of the cards. In this episode, Anita, Iris, Sharon and I discussed how we learn to interpret the Tarot without having to memorize keywords and phrases. It is important to allow the cards to speak to you rather than forcing them to make sense! This podcast will help you to be well on your way to understanding why and how you can do that. We also talked about the difference between saying whatever pops into your head and using your intuition. Complete with examples, you'll walk away from this podcast having a much deeper understanding of the Tarot cards. I am here to make sure everyone who wants to learn the Tarot has a chance to do so. I am now offering a FREE live seminar where you can ask me your questions! Go to . . . https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/7443920599417048067 to register FREE (no gimmicks, and no spam!) and come spend some time with me on Saturdays at 12:30pm PST. I look forward to meeting everyone! And as always, I am here to help. Dusty
