A ransomware-crippled clinic in Düsseldorf, Germany recently turned away an emergency ambulance and rerouted it to another facility many kilometers away. The 78-year-old woman patient, who was suffering an aortic aneurism, died. It's not clear whether quicker medical intervention would have saved her life but there could be many situations when healthy people needing immediate emergency care could become 'victim' of such hacker attacks.  While the hackers, in this case, may never be brought to justice, this serves as a warning of the real-world consequences when criminals target critical systems. What deepens the concern is the growing threat of cyberattacks on hospitals. More than 750 healthcare providers across the United States were targeted by ransomware last year. The perils of a  "connected" world are dawning. Amazon, which plays a dual role as a marketplace and retailer, had long been accused of using data gleaned from third-party sellers to better position its own products. As the ruling NDA appears to be inching towards victory in the Bihar polls with its rival RJD led Mahagathbandhan continuing to give it a close fight, voters can only hope the parties and politicians will walk the talk on what they promised them with regards to the state's development.   Also, with JD (U) chief and CM Nitish Kumar garnering a lesser number of seats, it will be interesting to see if he will be his old assertive self in his new inning as CM which seems to be most likely the case again. The voter has spoken and spoken well, that's all one can say. The close fight in many seats and incoming results have a message for all. Researchers in London are planning to deliberately infect people with the coronavirus in the world's first attempt to study how vaccinated people respond to the virus. Using controlled doses of virus, the aim of the research team will initially be to discover the smallest amount of virus it takes to cause COVID-19 infection in small groups of healthy young people, aged between 18 and 30.  If approved by regulators and an ethics committee, the studies will start in January with results expected by May 2021. Critics of human challenge trials say deliberately infecting someone with a potentially deadly disease for which there is currently no effective treatment is unethical. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sept 18 announced to set up India's biggest and most beautiful film city of the country in Gautam Buddh Nagar. He instructed officials to search for suitable land in or around Noida, Greater Noida, or Yamuna Expressway and prepare an action plan. Subsequently, the YEIDA on September 20 had sent a proposal stating that it has 780 acres earmarked for industrial purposes and 220 acres for commercial usage in Sector 21, which would be suitable to set up a film city.
