It doesn't mean they're against improving it, but I (Larry) wonder if it's possible to develop a society that does the right thing by the environment, which means heavy government intervention, then a lot of expenditure across the board. Can you do that if you haven't created a society in which people feel that their basic needs like health care and social care have been met?"
